.and the winner, African Player of the Year 2014 is YAYA TOURE. Fourth straight win. The Ivorian is nothing if not consistent.

Manchester City's Yaya Toure has been named the African Player of the Year 2014 by the Confederation of African Football at an awards ceremony held in Lagos on Thursday evening.

The Ivoirian won the title for a fourth straight time beating off competition from local favourite Vincent Enyeama and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the title.

In the ceremony, Nigeria produced the African Women Player award, Africa Youth Player of the Year as well as the National Team of the Year.

However, it was the Ivoirian Toure who was called up to the podium again winning the award for a record fourth time after previous sucesses in 2011, 2012 and 2013

A massive sigh of relief inside the hall as Yaya Toure was announced as winner of the CAf African Player of the Year award. All hopes of home-boy Vincent Enyeama triumphing ebbed as Rober Marawa announced the winner. Bravo Yaya!

before you cry foul,ask urself what was Enyeama's achievements in the last 12 months.. I keep saying it sentiments will take us no where. I hope Nigerians will drop their sentiments ånd Vote in the right President come February. Long live king Yaya! Long live Buhari(president elect)!! Long live Africa!!!

I hail yaya toure..he's a guy of class.
One of the best midfielders we have in the world.

I think Nigeria's poor form this year cost Enyeama tho he was alxo brilliant but it's difficult seeing a gk winning those kind of awards.

Aubameyang still has more years and maybe might snap up one or two in years to come

but Congrats to Yaya Toure..he deserved it.
