Asabawood is the terminology used to describe the bulk of Nollywood movies shot in Asaba while New Nollywoood is all the new generation Nollywood movies that are shot for Cinema releases.

Presently, Queen Nwokoye is the Queen of Asabawood branch of Nollywood cos she's now the hottest actress pocketing 1million Naira per movie and producers are falling all over themselves to have her in their movies. Her role interpretation is superb just like Mercy Johnson.

Meanwhile, Omoni Oboli is the face of New Nollywood branch of Nollywood cos she's mostly featured in most Cinema movies. And she's a goood actress too.

Now what distinguishes Asabawood from New Nollywood is that Asabawood shoots movies everyweek and the top actors and actresses there make so much money and they are always busy on different locations, also they are famous in Nigeria and beyond. Meanwhile New Nollywood shoots movies like once in 3 months and the actors there doesn't make much like their Asabawood counterparts but they have all these Cinema hype.
