Oya, lemme complete my story. This is a very warm thread.

Trust me: I made the very first move. Politely. Gentlemanly. Courteous. Appeared simple. She was preparing for her one of her HND 2 exams.

After chatting with her for a while, I politely requested for her digits, which she gave me there and then. I just knew she was going to be my wife. I have been praying for a lifetime since my secondary school days...

Left Kaduna June that year and returned back to PH. I actually went to Kaduna for a professional training organised by my organisation. In the end, I returned with two certificates. .U know what I mean na?

We kept communications going even after my leaving Kaduna. Visafone hear am for our hand. The calls were long, numerous and relentless. I knew she had other suitors, but I was able to make her see reasons why she should spend the rest of our life with me. I knocked off the other suitors. Actually, she had an accident, and was using crutches. I guess that scared the other suitors, while I willingly and happily stepped in. I was there for her throughput that challenging period.

After careful thoughts and deliberations, I felt it was time to make the bold move before water go pass garri. A lady well endowed with such a sumptuous figure? Ridiculously amazing. Factory fitted pointers and spring loaded V-boot? Now couple that with an unassuming, amiable, affable nature! I no fit miss am...... I officially proposed to her November that year; 2008. She instantly accepted and like an Olympic torch, we lit the love candle. It's still burning this morning. She's sleeping beside me as I type.

We were in courtship till October, 2009, when it metamorphosed into the marriage it is today. It's being one of my smartest decisions in my whole life.

Today, we're blessed with two kids: a boy and a girl.

The pain I spoke of is a different one. It's the one I fell in love with after the six-and-a-half-year outing. It's still ongoing. I talked about the six-and-a-half-year experience to answer Timbuktou's assertion about how much harder it gets if you left things until you get older. I met her when I was fresh into my twenties and I thought that was it. But it ended years later and I had to start afresh after I'd got "older". I didn't choose to leave the issue of marriage till I was older, it just happened that way.

And the new one is the pain that makes me think of forgetting about marriage sometimes. That's what I was saying. I already healed from the first.

It was the year 2022, my company an IOC had just changed flight contractors that do carry us to the oil rig, i was going for a routine inspection, and i approached the helicopter i saw probably the most beautiful thing i, ve ever seen in my life. She was the pilot, she was putting on a dark spectacle. She was such a beauty. I was stunned and i didnt know when i waved her. I was even thinking she would ignore.

Then it happened she waved back.
While we were on board, All i could think of was her. To be continued. ...

was hurrying to work from tbs. boarded a keke marwa heading for keffi street, he was in it. I alighted on awolowo road, he did. I crossed to the total filling station side, he did. I let him walk away so I could go my way, and then he stopped and asked why I was stalking him. I told him I was going to work, and it turns out he works in the building next to my office complex.

so I was in this relationship which was apparently heading no where, and I thought he was married. I never did ask him though. one week after the relationship I was in fizzled out, I was so heartbroken my boss asked me to go and sort my self out for 3 days. he saw me when I resumed and asked why I looked so haggard. I told him I just ended a relationship, and burst into tears. he looked at me with such tenderness, and comforted me. then he said it meant the coast was clear and he could move in. I gave him my evil look and told him I wasn't dating for the next two years.

anyone who knows me knows that my shakara is legendary. he would call me, I would ignore it. he would send me pings and I'll just read and no reply. He deleted my number from his phone and my bbm contact.

anyhow, May 14th that year I said ok, let's do this. He proposed to me July. 16, my birthday and we gott married Dec. 14. Same year! As I type this our daughter is sucking with intensity and kicking her legs in the air.


As to how I knew he was the right man, well, he wasn't like them other men I had dated. He is a positive. pusher. He backs up his motivation with money, advice, and monitoring. He also commands my respect, and didn't actt like seks was. all that mattered. He always put 'us' first, not all these 'me-me' guys we have. His devotion to God is top notch, and his future prospects are aligned with. mine.
