It was very necessary and apt in this circumstance ma’am. We’ve stated at various times that they’ve been consulted and they did send us a likely cost associated with treating the patient for our initial suggested diagnosis.
The diagnosis has now changed and it has been confirmed by various doctors.
I also stated in one of my updates that there are various risks associated with flying him out to India when they simply can’t cure him especially since the case is already at stage 4.

We didn’t sign a contract with them nor suggest we intended to do so at the time of our engagement with them

Our evaluation of the whole situation in consultation with the doctors working with us has enabled us decide on the best approach going forward hence the insistence on palliative treatment.

Palliative treatment has the same meaning everywhere. He has a terminal disease and our approach is to improve his quality of life by ensuring the treatment he receives going forward is adequate as well sufficient enough to help alleviate some of his pains.

From this, TeHN with the doctors they are working with have sentenced Hammed to PALLIATIVE TREATMENT which is to the best of their knowledge. But you guys should also think of this.... There are testimonies of successful treatment of stage 4 cancer on this tread and you guys should think of it. And what if you guys are wrong in sentencing this guy to just palliative treatment instead of looking for a final solution to his alignment that is available

People are willing to help this guy but u guys are not allowing them.

my understanding of his explanation is that they already got the full details but couldnt post freely cos of who may also be reading it so they drop hints hoping we would grab it but we are still asking for the clear picture.
l can hopefully assume their decision which appears made is informed by information they are privy to but couldnt share due to its sensitivity.
Even at that though, tehn is supposed to be a charity organisation and not a corporate brand giving short impersonal and i daresay rude response to posters like maingate.
Telling us you were simply asking a question or giving response by typing "thanks for your concern" as if he is an amebo would be insulting our intelligence.
A more diplomatic response should have sufficed and you people should learn the virtue of patience when relating with the public.

Actually you are wrong!!!

As i have said earlier, i apologise if you guys feel offended and we are working on all suggestions and advice.

What we all want is for Hameed to be okay.

It is unfair to state that there would have been a higher level of accountability if we had personal contributions into the fund
Each fund raised is treated with a duty of care as expected for peoples monies

Also if you did not know, we also contributed financially, with time and materially also

This is to disabuse your mind that actions are different because it is not 'our money'. That is wrong
What do you suggest going forward ... as u have rightly noted, funds are limited

Themaingate:
allowing TeHN take over this case was a big mistake on our part because most of us never new they are not ready for change

This same people have made lots of mistakes in the past yet we decided to ignore those mistake and forge ahead

One thing i am 100% sure of is that if all these fund have come from their purse probably they would have being more accountable and reasonable

when donation was coming in on a daily basis , this thread was always updated every week sometimes 2-3times in a week but now its now a thing of secrecy and that is the problem with the average black man

Now their new method is using the term Palliative care which means when a patient reaches a point at which treatment to destroy the cancer is no longer warranted, palliative care becomes the total focus of care. It will continue to be given to alleviate the symptoms and emotional issues of cancer. Palliative care providers can help ease the transition to end-of-life care.

which means there are lots of information at their disposal that they are not feeding us with

A team that even its member could not coordinate themselves

A team that does not carry its followers alone

A team that kick against all suggestion without looking back

My only question is that if that donation get exhausted WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT ACTION PLAN ? COME BACK TO THIS FORUM TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY OR ABANDON AHMED?

To be honest with you if ahmed were to be my brother i will fight to the end to find a final solution to his problem inasmuch as i have people around me who can help and not use the useless Palliative care these TeHN guys are talking about . THEY HAVE ALREADY PULL THE PLUG AND JUST LOOKING FOR A WAY TO TELL THE HOUSE .

Even if they have consulted a doctor before arriving at this Palliative care ARE THEY NOT SUPPOSE TO SEEK THE OPINION OF THIS HOUSE IF ITS OKAY WITH US OR NOT ? WHY MAKE A CONCLUSION THAT STAGE 4 CANCER HAS NO SOLUTION ?

This is the time to give Hammed all your support and words of encouragement. We have not giving up nor seal his faith. He is to start his chemo sessions very soon and we remain hopeful that it will yield desired results.

For the sake of accountability, can we have records of monies spent and how much is left from the money raised for hamed.
ls it also possible to empower his mum or family from whats left so that it atleast gives him a level of comfort that his family are doing well.
And what form exactly would the pallative take. if he would be home it would be good if i may say so so that he can be around family and save unnecessary cost.
We will surely provide financial statements to the last kobo as soon as we are able to.

We are also considering the empowerment/comfortability route for Hammed but we can't put that into planning until we have a good estimate of cost his proposed treament will incur.

Seems u didn't follow up about d meaning of d so called palliatives TEHN is talking about. Babyosisi and other few peeps have stated d meaning. And like I said earlier,I am noting what they said and holding on to it. Seems all those who talked about personal experiences on this are been disregarded instead of listening to them first before concluding its thrash

l know the meaning and implication of the term all right.
There is definitely room for improvement. i'm happy that concrete treatment plan is made for him as indicated in the last update and not just pumping him with sedatives or analgesics to alleviate pains.
@ maingate, is it possible for the white doctor willing to examine hamed to pay him a visit instead thats if he is still around. and does that suggestion go down well with tehn. since the doctor indicated willingness we should just try that option also so we would know we covered all options.

Everyone should please calm down. The last update TeHN gave was that they were working with his doctors to start chemo as that would be the same treatment he would be given in India. If there's no additional information yet, what update are you expecting? Babyosisi also cautioned about rep hospitals of so many so called specialist centers.

Chemo is the next step. It seems they are yet to get the estimate of how much the treatment will cost so please take it easy. And for the person saying that it was a mistake getting TeHN involved, very good. I hope u all remember this when the next case arises. My advice to TeHN, don't take any more medical cases please.

You've started again....

Post whatever you have to say here and stop giving people reasons not to trust TEHN or having doubts.

How do you expect someone with stage 4 cancer to look? Robust and healthy...bouncing and playing football? Have you been following the thread at all?

What do you suggest? If you really care about him, let us have the way forward. Bring your input to the table.

From the first day (this year) you made your presence known on this thread, you've harped on and on about this "additional info" that you have which none of us knows about, including TeHN that's been with DJ up till today. When asked that you provide this info, you didn't. I'm angry with you, because I expected you to have passed this info to TeHN via mail or posted it on this thread.

What's this info that you complain about but refuse to share? We're not kids!! Say it out in the open, if heaven will fall, let it fall!! There's nothing our eyes will see/read and bleed blood. Say it out loud. Stop hiding it. If you can't, then keep it to yourself.
