Election is coming, time to decide your futures. But PDP has got you confused over certificate. Talk about distraction from real issues, you will wake up tomorrow still without a job. The chance is here but the gullible have been distracted. They have turned you people to private investigators, why not bring your great grand papas waec make we analyse am.

PDP's distraction strategy is purely because they have nothing good to offer.

1. A proper 1959 cambridge school waec certificate
2. Purported Buhari's result(1961)

Here is the source: Brain tem.org

I try to make a sense of all these but I can't. What do you stand to gain from what you just.

Whoever did this analysis really needs to go back to school. This is very dumb.

Did you really take time to study the analysis before you released it. Please sit down and take a more careful look and you will see what a fool you have made of yourself.

Our education system really needs to be revamped.

But he said that he sat for WASC in 1961 and passed in 1961. It is on record sir.

Meanwhile, below is not about Buhari but it may be of interest sir. I copied this from someones wall on Facebook

Yes he sat for the WASC in 1961 but out of eight courses he only passed six. I'm not saying his results were good, in fact they were quite bad which is why I respect him all the more for daring to release his results considering how bad they were. Don't believe any one who tells you that the certificate is forged, they're just trying to deceive you.
Regarding the book by Gbulie, we already know that for a long time northerners enjoyed a quota in the military and in federal schools. I don't blame Buhari for that even if he was a beneficiary of the system. It was a form of affirmative action which has been scaled back and will soon be phased out.
I sense that you are a honest young man and I feel sad that Nigerian politics of tribal bitterness is infecting your generation as well. Please don't fall for it. Buhari is not an enemy just because he is from the north and a muslim. We are all Nigerians.

The fact that Buhari's certificate is even an issue in Nigeria is a shame on the nation's backwardness and engrained ethnic bigotry. For Pete's sake, why on God's earth should there be an issue with a missing certificate. Are there no agencies that can re-issue copies in such an event. Why do we have examination bodies. Why is Nigeria so backward?

If Buhari's certificate is missing, all INEC needs do is send representatives to WAEC to verify that they have Buhari's records (this should be done even if Buhari or whoever presents an original certificate). If WAEC cannot do this, then WAEC and the entire record-keeping organisations in Nigeria are failures. Big failures.

Many children born in Nigeria today do not exist as they have no Birth Certificates. Yet bigots come online to discuss someone's WAEC certificate. Nigeria does not keep records. Go to Europe and you will be amazed how records have been kept meticulously for at least 300 years. The Chinese have done it for over 1000 years. Why does it remain a problem in Nigeria.

Institutions exist to keep records. As a university graduate, were my certificate to get missing, all a vetting body needs do is contact my university through appropriate and trustworthy channels to verify that I have the qualifications I claim. Should the university not be able to answer this, then a shame it is.

Nigeria has to start keeping records. Everyone should have a citizens number by which they can be identified. Information such as where they live, school, work, how much they earn, what they do etc need to be stored. Also what qualifications they possess. This is how advanced countries operate and that is why they are advanced not urban jungles like what we've got here. I am truly sick of the backwardness and bigotry I see.

Buhari never mentioned that his cert was lost. That would have been a different story altogether.
1. He said it was with the military.
2. Then he said it was confiscated by IBB after ousting him.
3. Then he said it was with his secondary school principal.
4. Then he said PDP was using it to blackmail him
5. Then vanguard leaked a faked cert

That is the issue, he didn't say it was lost, because then, it would mean he had obtained it, then lost it.
The case here is different.
If he never said it was not lost or seized, ask ursef Why did he do a Sworn affidavit? #Common Sense!

The original 1961 certificate was lost. Many people who finished school decades after Buhari have lost their original certificates.

When you lose your original certificate you can apply to your school for a statement of results which will be issued on current letterhead paper according to current guidelines. The photo on the statement of results is recent because it is required by the school for a new statement of result to be issued. This statement of result was issued yesterday January 21, 2015 not in 1961.

I hope this has helped those people still confused by this recent development.

They need tutorials to understand. Original Educational Certificate can't be offered more than once. I. Know this when my younger brother loosed his WAEC and NECO certificates. shocked

Why not get your facts right b4 you comment on a post or quote someone, he didn't get an A1 in igbo, he never registered it, that's not a 1 on his result, It's a slash to indicate he didn't sit 4 d particular subject.

This is a statement of result. No one even bothered to check the day it was signed and collected. (21/01/2015). The statement was collected recently from the secondary school he graduated from and it is not an original WASSCE result. Not like I am supporting this man but it's terrible when people only tend to see what they wish to see just to attack someone.

I've read this whole thread and just wondered to myself, the kind of people that members of Nairaland these days. The level of stupidity has no boundaries. Even after some learned brothers and sisters tried to make them see sense, they just can't get it smiley

They are all busy digging up certificate, have they asked themselves if Katsina state existed in 1961? One fool was even saying master sheet filled our with biro and not computer? For Christ's sake were they computers in 1961?

The certificate got lost and upon proper application GMB was issued a statement of result which is a CTC (certified true copy) based on his actual result of 1961. What is hard in understanding that? cheesy

The funniest one is the one of him getting 1 in Igbo and 5 in Hausa.... shocked grin cheesy cheesy They took the | used to indicate nil as a 1. So it means he sat the 21 courses? Haha hahahahahahaha....

General Mohammed Buhari released a copy of his certificate yesterday and this are a few things you need to know.
1. They realesed a statement of result: if you return back to your secondary school to collect a statement of result anytime they would never back date it. The would put the date the principal signed it.
2. Its a government school he attended. All secondary school owned by government use the same proto-type for statement of result. No school can use any other than the one produced by the state Ministry of Education.
3. As we know that Neco didn't exist then. The statement of result is a new one obtained and all government schools use the same. The reason why NECO was cancelled there because he did WASSCE.

My dear I no think say u go school too. If u lost your WAEC certificate, you dont apply to your school, you apply to WAEC because WAEC is the authority of the certificate not your school. That is why statement of result issued by schools are only valied for 5 years. I think this will educate you too incase you lost yours.

Please let us bury this certificate issue. At this point, whoever is not satisfied and still thinks it's fake can write directly to Cambridge University, get proof and publish the proof...then go to court. This is 2015 please...there are more salient issues at stake
