Dramadiddy:
what I like about this is that, if a have a big and very non-diatonic chord, that is, where the notes are out of scale, I can play one chord and its substitutions in any open space in a song.. Lol just try this method, walai u ll love it
wait..slow down.. if I have a non diatonic chord lyk say
a G diminished or a ( A // F Bb B Eb ) in the key of Db, I can play any of the substitutions I create using your method in any open space and it will fit?

wait what I mean by open space is that there's a part in a song where you hear the "fa" sound for quite a long time, you can have one chord like F C E//A Db E A, an then substitute it.. Then it sounds like you're playing a lot of things..

@ Drammadiddy

Thanks so much for taking ur time to explain. I got d Tritone stuff now... I've practiced it. But d main issue is knowing d right time to apply it in a song.

Tnx... Got it. Is it the same as the substitution chord you talked about? Hope my questions are not getting too much.

it depends on the Key tho'.
On Key C, it would be D G B//F B.
On Key F#, it would be Ab C F//F B.
I'll leave you to guess why the tritone(F B) works on Key C and F#.
I'll gladly accept corrections to the second use(i.e on F#). I just imagined it oh.

@Karleb
what was that Smallwood's book about?

Just a foundational sheet music for absolute beginner, it helps a lot in terms of fingerìňg, timing and sight reading.

Add improvisation to your video.

the second one is still a G chord, doesn't have anything to do with F#
