One of those present took the satire to some level by comparing Jonathan to the ‘performance’ of the former Governor of Anambra, Peter Obi. He noted that while Obi gloated about ‘savings’, there is no signature project to remember his regime except that his regime took the first position among all states in Nigeria in the democratization of poverty—- mass impoverishment of the people of Anambra. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, poverty rose under his watch in Anambra from 20% in 2004 (lowest in Nigeria then) to 68% in 2010 (a 238% deterioration!). Our friend likened it to a father who had no idea of what to do with his resources and was celebrating his fat bank account while his children were dying of kwashiorkor. He pointed out that since it is the likes of Peter Obi who are the advisers to Jonathan on how to manage the economy (thereby confusing micromanagement which you do as a trader with macro governance) it is little wonder that poverty is fast becoming another name for Nigeria. It was a very hilarious evening.

I must commend Prof.Charles Soludo for such an exceptional epistle,i beg to differ in his submission on his overall assessment of the regime of Pres.GEJ,significant milestones were recorded in areas of agriculture,power and road construction and to say that the economic team is weak is quite degrading....The present economic team is and will remain the greatest convergence of great minds and achievers in various fields of endeavour.
What the professor did not tell us;
1) It was in the same regime he served that over 2 trillion Naira was spent on power without any considerable improvement
Are you aware that GEJ did not start ANY SINGLE power project?... Every single power project which you hail GEJ for commisioning is a part of that same 2 trillion which OBJ spent.

2) The Benin-Ore road was for close to a decade the worst nightmare for travellers
Contracts for the Benin -Ore road were awarded in OBJ's tenure and yes, some portions were fixed. But unlike GEJ, OBJ did not jump around to the media to celebrate the completion of a tiny portion of the road that was fixed like GEJ and his supporters are doing presently. For the past 10 years, works have been ongoing on that road and the works have still not been completed as we speak; Yes!.. there are still many sections of the same Benin-Ore road which are a nightmare to pass so I don't understand the basis of this grand deceit and celebrations that Goodluck fixed the road

3) Millions of dollars were spent on TAM(Turn Around Maintenance) of Refineries without any justification for a satisfactory work done
The same TAM you talk of in OBJ's time, that is the reason why the refineries we have in Nigeria today are functioning, albeit at a fraction of their capacities because successive administrations did not follow up. Jonathan has not spent any money on those refineries (proof me wrong). I just cannot understaand the grand deceit being sold out to Nigerians by the Jonathan team that OBJ was a devil and GEJ is a god. Most of the things working in the country today in GEJ's regime were things initiated and funded since OBJ's regime. This is inclusive of the reforms in the agric sector which was started by OBJ, it also includes the Abuja to Kaduna world class standard rail which has just been completed under Jonathan; Yes! it was started by OBJ and the contract was signed by OBJ.

4) Elections were manipulated and massive electoral fraud committed to favour the anointed candidate of the then president.
A typical insight into the kind of elections we are currently having and that we would have under Jonathan is the governor's forum election where Nigerians were told openly that 16 is greater than 19. Forget about the 2011 elections, in that exercise, it was going to be a clear win for Jonathan because he enjoyed massive goodwill from Nigerians all over hence that election cannot really be used as a yardstick to measure GEJ's performance at conducting elections. February elections will expose the true colours of GEJ in conducting elections.

5) Huge funds were disbursed for the third term agenda which was truncated by our distinguished parliamentariansYou talk of the huge funds spent by OBJ to secure a third term, have you ever asked yourelf what happened to the entire excess crude account which OBJ saved for the future generation?.... Yes your god Jonathan in 2010 squandered the billions of dollars in that account down to zero all in a bid to bribe the governors to support his election ambition in 2011. GEJ is also plundering our foreign reserves in his careless desperation to cling to power beyond 2015. Do you really think it is normal that no major capital projects are ongoing yet our foreign reserve keeps falling at an unbelievable speed?

We have always insulted OBJ and called him all sorts of unprintable names but following deep analysis, OBJ turns out to be the best president we ever had in Nigeria with the highest amounts of achievements to his name. We truly owe OBJ an apology for all the insults. An x-ray analysis of Jonathans administration shows that most of the achievements we ascribe to him were projects started and in most cases, fully paid for by OBJ.

This is one of the challenges Jonathan has with his media & communications team. They are too inefficient. It took a guy on Twitter (@MrAyeDee) few minutes to completely rubbish Soludo's report with verifiable FACTS and expose Soludo's intellectual deceit.

And how did he rubbish soludo's assertions? If we had such a 'robust economy' under GEJ why do we have a near empty foreign reserve? Why is our currency in a free for all fall?
