OAM4J:

Question is; where are the volunteers? And time is of essence here, reason we think the brother/family are the better volunteers.
I think in the beginning of this thread we got volunteers on teams. Put out the call again. I am sure people will respond

OAM4J:

Oga mi, much respect sir. Appreciate you kind words.

But trust me, we are not giving up on Ahmed. Its not possible for us to do that. Ahmed has become part of us and we cant abandon him, especially at this stage.

People may think we don't have a heart but we do. If we are not kindhearted in the 1st place, there wouldn't have been anything called TeHN. We have been through a lot but our passion to keep putting smiles on crying faces had kept us going. And we will continue to do what we are doing irrespective of all the challenges, attacks and insults.

Now to the issue. The truth remains this is not about the insults and attacks, but on facing realities. TeHN cannot keep on with this case even if we want. It is beyond our capacities to continue to run it as we are presently doing. I know the pressure we put on a Mynd44 daily, we cannot afford to keep him on for another 3/4 months. So the family or some new volunteers have to step up managing Ahmed everyday. And if we can be freed of the animosity and the whole bureaucracy involved with the case, the better so we can channel our strength as best as we can, while still looking after DJ in our own little way.

So we can pay for the treatment, allow his brother/family to manage him. If there is a fear that the remaining money will not be well spent, we can release it in bits as I explained earlier.

Please disregard any notion that we are giving up on Ahmed. We love him too much to abandon him, and Ahmed knows this too.

Thanks for your reassurance that you are NOT giving up on DJ, and i respect your word and believe you . . . There is NOTHING wrong in Nairalanders, family of DJ stepping up and get more involved, but i think the fact that you guys managed it all since the start, you guys can control things and delegate trusted hands to do more for THeN. . . . Your response will help to lie down tonight and sleep well knowing that DJ is not abandoned . . . . Once again, thanks a lot

let us be truthful with ourselves.. tehn has really tried.. really really tried especially the field workers and we need to commend them irrespective of diverging issues or views.

But at the same time its disappointing to hear they're backing off because of lack of volunteers for the leg work (If I'm right). I expected the solution to that problem would be for them to ask the house for those willing to volunteer to assist tehn, and not back off. seriously its confusing..and make it seem like there are other reasons to it that we are not privy to..even tho there may not be.

not been pessimistic, but one thing is sure, if tehn backs off, donations would drastically reduce.

The truth is that before then hands off pls get volunteers that you are sure will continue from where mynd44 stopped. We can't leave DJ hanging, please bring on people that are commited to this cause that's the only way tehn can be guilt free

DJ will not be left hanging. Please we are not mean and wicked people to allow that.

The kind of volunteers needed now is different. But if there are people willing to do the job, let them speak up.

You can sleep well bro and focus on getting chaircover, my mother in law a good X7 for her birthday next month. grin

Hoping to celebrate it with Buhari's victory too. Time to vote for change. If our government has been responsible, Ahmed will not be in this situation today.

Cheers bro.

That is one of the doors that community behind the young man opened and we ALL could work together to make sure same door aint shut. . . .I trust the words of OAMJ4 and i will take it to the bank knowing DJ is not abandoned.

I still believe brushing off the idea of overseas treatment because of lack of funds was totally not the best. im sure if we had stuck to the plan, pple would av started donating towards the said 7million. we couldn't get up to 7m at d time cos we didn't even av a definite amount we wanted to raise.

Well tehn should do what's best now, as long as its favours Djdola and his health.

option A seems ok tho. I don't think B would even work

Wish u good health djdola.. God be with u

Lets hv dem volunteer here. Sm pple arent comfortable wt leaving d funds wt family cos we may nt really b getting regular updates etc. So lets c if we can get d volunteers.

@OAM4J....I'm asking yet again....what is the EXPECTED outome at the end of the 18 seek full treatment?....he would be cancer free?...cancer beaten back to stage 1?......or jhst 18 weeks of no pain for DJ and then....? Is it too much to ask what we should expect to find at the end of this road?

And what name will be giving to the new team TeHN

pickabeau1:

Alternate treatment had not been ruled out for this case
However we will not consider it
The new team is free to consider it if the team Is formed

I think the focus should be on the activities to be carried out rather than the nomenclature of the group however they are at liberty to make their own decisions

OPTION A : HANDOVER THE WHOLE MONEY TO DJ FAMILY AND DONT COME BACK TO THIS FORUM TO HANDLE ANY CASE AGAIN

OPTION B : COMPLETE WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY STARTED BECAUSE YOU ONCE TOLD US YOU ARE CAPABLE

Mynd44:

Anger has nothing to do with this but when someone comes out of the blues to accuse me of taking funds for my own use I think I have a right not to allow such BS stand.

I bet you would have done same too. I have been on this case since November 11. I even had to drag a friend along because I did not know the way to Eruwa. I remember going to 5 hospitals on the 14th in Lagos and being with Hameed everyday for more than a month straight.

If after all that someone can come out and imply I have been taking funds for personal gains and you don't find anything wrong with that statement you need to think about it again. If you think stepping off is about wanting to be right, you might consider that I was with Hameed today at LUTH for an appointment I begged a friend to arrange so we can have options. I could have just told him I won't be and no one will actually hold me.

The case has gotten to a point where others are needed to play their part.

To those who say anyone gave up, I guess giving up also includes putting down the plans and way forward. I also called the hospital in VI today to make sure the bill was okay and corrected some things just so when whoever will take this up will find it easy. I don't have time for anger but I take exception to being accused of diverting funds.

Anyone who draws sub from this is on his/her own
Mynd44, anyone who is in charge of any funds donated by a group of people is a potential thief to most people who have their money with you. Its up to the collectors conscience to judge you if u r actually thieving or not.
Don't let that particular accusation get to you, I swear its a normal thing.
I have been summoned to superiors just cos people felt I was diverting funds for personal use, but I had records and was able to prove I had even used my money.
If your conscience doesn't judge you, let it go

Hmmm....so alternative treatment have been ruled out mainly because it is hard to go against the four doctors.Fine. If we are forging ahead with this 18 week chemo plan....what is the EXPECTED outcome?....and what is this based on?....hope?....theory?...and have they tried this before on other patients with stage 4 or even stage 3 cancer? what were the results and how are they now?.....or is this just an 18 week pain relief treatment? ...referred to as "quality of life?" Shouldn't we know these answers before going down the chemo road? I'm hoping the doctors be asked these questions and be pressed for pointed answers. We can't be passive again. LUTH already put wool over our eyes for a month and pulled almost a million out of our pockets before we faced reality. I am surprised that LUTH is again considered to be/in the mix. This is by no means intended to be an attack nor an insult to TeHN but an effort to make sure we leave no stone unturned before moving forward.
Originalsly:
I am still tryinv to find out about this full treatment. What should be his situation at the end of the full treatment? Is it 18 weeks of being pain free and then .....is it after the full treatment he would be cancer free?......cancer driven back to stage one?...and have they successfully done this before? Can I have an answer?...please?

Instead of going round in circles, this is what ought to be considered if you guys endorse treatment option 1.

He is expected to have 6 chemo cycles within a span of 18 weeks.

The chemo cycle is once every other 3 weeks

6 new people can volunteer to accompany him then share the scheduling among themselves (1 volunteer for each chemo cycle).

The volunteers will have the responsibility to update on proceedings at the end of each chemo cycle
