Fawklicant:Well, in truth, having soldiers as part of such operations is an anomaly and an indictment on the capabilities of the police. |

Only a F**lish person would buy such an idea in this current state of the country. The military are important at this time at least to protect and fight against any insurgents at such period... At the last election touts locked up corpers, Policemen and Civil defence in a particular place and went on doing d voting, while at some other different places they were all beaten like local drums... Abeg make them iron this issue wella oh so that I go know if to conduct election or only do training. . . |

Richard6:Dont mind the idiots. Where were their courts when GEJ took over 'amaechi's' stadium in PH. These are powers that a C-in-C deploys without recourse to foolish urchins. . Under aged voters constitute 50% of the northwests 'large' voter population, so they are clearly afraid of the treatment Ihejirika gave them in the north of kaduna, in the polls that produced the 1st Christian Gov. Yakowa of blessed Memory. . Its good they played their hand early so we know were they are headed. So PDP take note. |

I'm glad the govt is sticking to constitution, however. They should figure provisions for safety of the voters and people involved in the voting process. Something that's not army, like I refuse to believe there aren't people trained in the private sector. |

this verdict does not favor corpers at al. We were the ones protecting police men during the distribution of PVC & CVR. I rememeber dt i was even telling a police officer that for her own safety she should stay where corpers are cos the corpers are your friends , we will protect you. Please i need soldiers not somebody to protect this time. |

F22RAPTOR: And was the military able to protect the chibok girls and all other abductions that have happened under their nose? If police not strong enough then empower them. It's against the law, that's all that matters. |

What kangaroo court is that one? Please we need soldiers to maintain law and order. What APC wants is the ordinary police who can be easily compromised, and at best they want to engage I. Rigging and snatching of ballot boxes. They should know that without the soldiers, the elections will not be peaceful and that is a recipe for cancellation of the elections. Think wisely NIGERIANS. |

| Re: Court: No Troops For Elections by Demdem(m): 11:43am On Jan 31, 2015 |
F22RAPTOR: Actually I don't see it that way. Military should focus strictly on their constitutional roles in which they are currently failing instead of adding more responsibilities on themselves. The writers of the constitution who made it so aren't fools. |

tit:So election is insurgency ![]() Maybe insurgency against PDP.No wonder, a sitting defence minister.... KORO... led the troops to Ekiti and Osun, won the battle in Ekiti and lost in Osun. |

Demdem:listen to yourself oga, is protection of lives and property not part of their constitutional roles? are the soldiers complaining of extra responsibilities? come on.... |
| Re: Court: No Troops For Elections by Demdem(m): 1:32pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
F22RAPTOR: Are u insinuating that the law court which prohibits them from such erred in law? What do u know that the court doesn't? Police is protection of lives and properties. Military is protection from both foreign and local aggression. Can evil boko and elections be related together as local aggressors? Please put on ur thinking cap. |
| Re: Court: No Troops For Elections by F22RAPTOR(m): 1:59pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
Demdem:The ruling of the court could be due to sentiments that's why court rulings can be appealed, meaning they are not always correct. You say local aggression; will aggression of any form not lead to the destruction of lives and properties?..is bokoharam a local aggressor? yes..are political thugs local aggressors? yes. seems like its you who is not thinking. |

It is good to deploy Soldiers during elections to avoid story that touch. I still recall n view pix of corp members that was slaughtered during 2011 election. Even not at d election post but around the vicinity there is need 4 Soldiers in case of eventuality, I don't trust my northern brothers again. I don't like the way they waste the life of intellectuals of country like in 2011. |
| Re: Court: No Troops For Elections by Fawklicant: 5:52pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
dabossman:Very well, yes. But the expediency of the situation demands we have military presence at least in the supporting role they are playing now, lest we encounter a chaotic situation which could lead to a state of emergency in which the military would still have to be involved, but lives would have been lost by the time they are deployed. |
