All the states under the control of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will declare two days as work-free to enable voters collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC), the party said Friday. Speaking at the party’s Presidential Campaign rally in Lagos, Segun Oni, former Ekiti State governor, said that the work-free days would be before February 10. “This is to enable people who have not taken their permanent voters’ cards to do so,” said Mr. Oni, APC’s Deputy Chairman, South. The 14 states currently under the control of the APC include Lagos, Edo, Rivers, Imo, Osun, Sokoto, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Kano, Kwara, Borno, Ogun, Oyo, and Yobe States. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is yet to officially extend the January 31st deadline for the distribution of PVCs. APC states parades the worst PVC collection rate in the country at 30+ % in Lagos, Ogun and Imo. Distribution of PVCS at wards and LGA has failed, the only way to get appreciable success is to bring the distribution process back to polling units. |
