Guys, most people have already made up their minds who they will vote for, 5 or 6 weeks shift won't change that but the fact that 35% of registered voters don't yet have their PVC in an election that is expected to be close leaves room for a lot of unnecessary litigation. Let INEC take the next few weeks and ensure that at least 90% of registered voters get their PVC. You is meant to win will still win.

This is how crazy ideas of election postponement initiated by Tunde Bakare has caused Nigeria deadlock. This is how June 12th election was annulled, with crazy ideas from crazy people.
People- if God so bless you, please use it for the benefit of all. Don't use your God given gift to cause commotion in the society.
God bless Nigeria.

The security chiefs won't give INEC any guarantees because they can't guarantee any,but particularly because issue of security they gave is tertiary to their concerns. The only calculation is the hope that in six weeks time sth dramatic would have shifted in GEJ's favor.
Common sense shd tell everybody that you can't give a definite time frame for defeating a terrorist group. So what if in 6 wks BH is still very much operational, will another shift be called for?
I know this won't end well for GEJ,its ominous the man is tempting faith.

Tempting providence you mean?

OBJ is now vindicated! GEJ is hell bent on destroying this country, because of sheer selfishness.

But history is SURELY on the side the NIGERIAN PEOPLE; If GEJ and his compromised security chiefs think they are more powerful than the Nigerian people, simply because they are TEMPORALLY in control of OUR country's barrels of guns, then they are seriously mistaken.

History is full of many dictators who made such a mistake, i.e. of becoming power-drunk and using the state security apparatus to attempt to subvert the WILL OF THE MAJORITY of their people. All those dictators were invariably DISGRACED EVENTUALLY.

It would be a REAL personal tragedy if GEJ, who was voted by many people in 2011 because of his meek, amiable and humble appearance, would allow his personal ambition and that of a FEW CORRUPT AND GREEDY generals to guarantee him an ignoble place in our nation's history, as a sit-tight president who becomes a dictator, dares his people and gets CHASED out of office by people power!.

The preparations for this year elections began after the general elections in 2011. Are we saying 4years is not enough for FG to fix the security challenge in the country? PDP want BH to continue that is why the FG failed to do the needed...this is a rescue mission for PDP. It's a matter of time before Boko Haram is wiped off the face of the earth. If 4 yrs is not enough to prepare for election how can 6 weeks be enough. Registered voters is around 70m, INEC tried to give 45M. Last election was conducted with 35m voters.

so it either Boko haram end now or no election indefinitely. Is this the reason why they want to postpone coming election? do you think this menace would be fixed in just 6weeks? BIG LIE.
The problem in that region has not just started, what solution has been proffered by them? Now election is around, and seeing the willingness of the people to vote them out of power, they are using a situation they deliberately allowed to deteriorate as an excuse.

Jega finally compromised.

The concern is what magic will make the election safe in 6 weeks time? With dwindling oil revenues and the Billions of Dollars already spent on the elections so far, is this Government sensitive to curbing wastages in needless expenditure at all? Now we know, that after the postponement and possible edging of JEGA from office before the election and PDP eventually wins

Really, for how many years now boko haram has been on rampage its on election day that they remembered to face them and you here believe the coc!K and bull story.

Security is an issue but is it now they know. Does jonathan really believe that those people there would actually vote for him.

remember where the buck stops.

The presidency is taking into consideration the issue of security in north east and the fact that many have not gotten their PVC yet. I don't know why APC wants the elections despite the fact that most people don't have PVC yet. Do you know that the election could be cancelled based on the fact that many did not vote? Who accounts for the loss? There had been serious exodus of people from the north to the south, the IDPs are not yet all accounted for and the mode of voting for them not yet determined, concrete steps need to be taken towards making it possible for those who migrated from North to south for fear of post election violence to vote.

Please let us be realistic and objective in our criticism. Why are people migrating from north to south?, obviously as a result of careless statements from an APC contestant in 2011 and also for 2015 elections (regards blood of Monkeys and baboons) already laying a foundation for another electoral violence. I should say sometimes the words we voice out comes back to hunt us. Insecurity has been created in the North East and we now have to pay the price. No one conducts elections in an insecure environment. Period.

In as much as I will like to discuss with you objectively, you have negated and maim the spirit yourself. The presidency is aware of all you made mention of before now and couldn't do anything to safe the situation.

The case of PVC isn't a major reason to postpone the election because even if Inec will distribute it till December, it won't still be perfect. Internally displaced people have been given ample time to seek for transfer of PVC before now.

The postponing of the election will not add any credibility to it but gross ineptitude on the part of inec and the federal government.

Brilliant.

It is more than brilliant! His analysis was spot on.

If our security forces are so sure of routing Boko Haram in 2 months, why did they wait this long in the first place. They just woke up?

Something is really smelly about the fight against BK.

There's no need to come here to make noise, the elections will be shifted in the overriding best interest of the entire process. Everything the president is doing is legal and in the overral best interest of Nigeria. It is only enemies of the country that are pushing for elections on February 14, so that they can unleash violence on innocent Nigerians in the north, apart from disenfranchising a significant percentage of the electorate. GEJ till 2019.

Read your post again and tell me the person with no brain and reasoning.

Guarantee : 1. provide a formal assurance, especially that certain conditions will be fulfilled relating to a product, service, or transaction.

2. promise with certainty.

If the PDPoo and the chief security can't assure the above statement then there is no reason for the election to be postpone.
