3cycle:The international news networks will pass comment/judgement on anything that happens, particularly on nations of importance (such as Nigeria). My question is why do people here pay any attention to them? - we (should) know that the Western press do an atrocious job of representing what happens in places that are not north America or western Europe. |

Marvin67:From the news of the past one week its very obvious that the military and the other organizations are in the pocket of the president, and its also very obvious that if jega could provide his own security he would have gone on with the election. And don't say that the pdp does not have something to gain from shifting the poll because from all indications it was was getting clearer that they were going to lose ethe election, AIT conducted their polls even after airing the satanic documentary about GMB, Reno omokri did his own on twitter GMB also won, shifting the polls by six weeks will help them to restrategise on how they are going to rig the election cos they are definitely not going to win a free and fair one |

3cycle:BBC, UK, USA should all go and sit in the dust bin. In as much as I really feel indifferent about the postponement thing, what is their business? They turned their back on us during ebola, bokoharam and all what have you. Useless people. |

barcanista:Take easy bros; we are all pained by this development. However, I dont blame Prof Jega. There was no way he could have conducted election under such atmosphere, PDP is looking for excuse to sack Jega and replace him with someone sympathetic to their course. Am sure they were ready to cause violence had Jega insisted on going ahead, they are ANIMALS and will do anything to remain in power. Violence would have given them excuse to form an interim government with GEJ as the head, Jega would have been charged and convicted foe treason ( conducting election agaist security advice). We are patiently waiting to #march4buhari. |

linusbnn:/ GEJ wants to buy more time to enjoy Aso Rock. Since when do politicians in Nigeria start caring for the masses? The level of political chess game being played now is well beyond your comprehension. So, go ahead and entertain yourself with any excuse you deem fit. It is not about the masses. Jonathan is just being selfish. He didn't realize that 4 years would fly by so fast. Nigeria is not an island. If GEJ messes up the country so much as to bring international sanctions, the masses will suffer tremendously while GEJ and cohorts will be enjoying their loot. And you think N200: $1 is bad now? Then it will be N500+:$1. Be careful what you wish for. \ |

barcanista:yeah.....d postponement is a charade. I think Mr Jega is being cautious here to avoid culpability in d event of mayhem and chaos orchestrated by unscrupulous elements using d security chiefs alibi.....d Yorubas of old concludes '' e je ka pe were loko iyawo ko le je ka ri ibi gba ''.... roughly translated '' let's call d madman a nice groom in order for us to av peace in d community ''. |

it will be totally unfair and stupid to apportion any blame on INEC Chairman for the postponement of the election because if he decided to ignore the letter by the so called bias-NSA and go ahead on February 14, it will be very disastrous. the so called military and agents of PDP and Gej will deliberately cause mayhem. |

barcanista:what did you expect Jega to do? He clearly stated that postponement was was not on INEC card but wouldn't want to have blood in his hands when security agencies can't gurantee the lives of Nigerians knownig how desperate Nigerian politicians are. Was it not the same security apparatus that said insurgency will not distrub general elections before they backtraked? Afghan held elections, somebody need to be fired. |

Buhari truly just wants to grab power. It is the duty of true Nigerians to prevent terrorists from lording it over the nation. Now the wolves are pretending to be sheep. Don't fall for their trick.

makzeze:so u reason along that line too. I think GEJ should have take a clue from Burkina Faso. If their plan is to cause war and then use it as an excuse for handing over to David Mark, a pdp member, they are in 4 a shock because the polity is tense and I can see something coming |
