Not surprised, unilorin is arguably the best university in Nigeria.
Been the most sought out for doesn't mean its the best... Choice matters here

Useless country.

Since it became obvious that Ndiigbo top the list of highest number of jamb applicants every year, a very good way of reinforcing the fact that Ndiigbo are the most populous ethnic group in this country/the ethnic group with least poverty rate,as only the well fed has enough money to aspire for university education.

Some people got scared of those jamb stats, and the next thing we knew was that jamb no longer provide stats to show the states of origin of jamb applicants, they now only show the universities with the highest number of applicants, as that stat have a semblance of Wazobia with 2northern universities, 2 Eastern,1 western and one SS university in the top six most sought after universities.

Every damn thing in the country must be politicized and tinkered with, to prevent exposure of their fraudlent population census figures. Ndi ara!
Mr Man, u re being cluelessly tribalistic...the thinking wey dey ur. Brain is really amazing.

Why did jamb stop providing the stats showing the states with highest number of applicants moments after that stats became a hot topic in the internet, with the Yorubas and North geting pretty much uncomfortable with the implication of those stats?

Provide the answer to this my question and stop that your silly drivel, no one deceived by your veneer of tribal neutrality. Every Nigerian is tribal.

The fact is that it is irrelevant cos whether it is SE or SW or NE e.t.c does not matter. The most important thing is what u do with what u go to the institutions to obtain...if the east go to institution most as u claimed, it does not add one kobo to my purse now that is their own way of making their own life better.so others to can follow and try to better than them...it does not stop anything now bro...let's not destroy our beloved nation with all this non-issue...

I love your choice of words, but the fact remains that it is only arguably the best university in Nigeria and not the best

Sorry bro, but the stats matters considering that Nigeria's monthly allocations to states depend on population figures, a fraudlent census figures that have seen Ndiigbo marginalized with the Yorubas having six states to Ndiigbo five, and Ndiigbo consistently reminded by Yorubas and the North that SE has the least population by citing the fraudlent population census figures.

Those stats matters,if they didn't some people wouldn't have gotten uncomfortable with it, forcing jamb to stop providing them.

If Nigeria can only unite when Ndiigbo are shortchanged, then Nigeria must disintegrate.

Exactly what happen in the drama of federal common entrance examination.
Wia d cut off mark was 200 or so and some kids in Anambra got 280 and was not admitted while others in Kano and sokoto with 30 was admitted.
She opened her mouth to say that the East have highest number of passes and if they wish to give admission in that manner, only the Igbos would be in Federal schools.
I could not bear the laughter.
Same goes to University level, and census and election. The withhold the PVC of the Igbos and cause feud in the north so that registered Igbos would not come out to vote there by making it possible for dia slots to be used for rigging. And it's massive.
If u ve been to Kano and Kaduna, if dia re 10million persons dia, 4 million re Igbos. I was born dia and I can attest to that.

It ok sha...
But think about this...there is a region in nigeria called North Central made of up seven Units with F.C.T, this zone consists of different ethnic group including Yoruba , Hausa, Tiv,Igala, Ebira,Nupe, Birom,Idoma and Igbo(in benue state)...how do you see it if one of them is merged with the south east(preferably Benue state)...then the south east too will become six state too....Cos if u look at the north east, It is not only fulanis that re there, hausa is there, Kanuri too,Jukun too, Shewa and many other tribe they are merged together as the north east.
If states re not being created and u re still agitating for six states in that zone, then the best tin is for the federal government to put Benue state join and the south east will be six states too

With the 2015 JAMB UTME registration officially closed, Campus Portal Nigeria have compiled the list of most sought after universities.

Out of the over 180 universities in Nigeria, University of Ilorin (Unilorin) has the highest number of JAMB UTME applicants with over 85,945 candidates seeking admission into the institution. This is followed by the University of Benin (Uniben) with over 60,020 applicants, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (Unizik) with over 58,410 UTME applicants.

The 4th, 5th, and 6th most sought-after higher institutions are the University of Nigeria, Nsukka – UNN (57,539 applicants), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – ABU (52,785 applicants), and the University of Lagos – UNILAG (49,059 applicants) respectively.

Is better for the candidates to start applying for change of university or they will face failure in gaining admission
Best wishes to all 2015 JAMBites...

That's the power of visionary leadership. I recall in 2002 when the Unilorin VC said, "I envision a day when at your departure to start the university, you have the clout to look at your parents and say,"Dad, Mum, I'll be back in April 2006". Yes! With that level of precision and confidence".

Those words are hallmark of good, passionate and visionary leadership. That is what defies us at the National level.

God bless Nigeria.
