If you want to know about any truth on how poor any nation has fallen, I think the best place to look is at the report compiled by the world body in charge of wealth management. That is, the world bank. As of December last year, 2014, the rate of poverty in the country went down by almost 2% according to their assessment of the country Nigeria. I don't have the links but you can confirm it. Try bloomberg. I don't have to listen to anybody on this issue. Not even the weak UN.
"The World Bank is a United Nations international financial institution that provides loans to developing countries for capital programs. The World Bank is a component of the World Bank Group, and a member of the United Nations Development Group." http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Bank

Each nation has its own apparatus for telling what its wealth or poverty status is. Your bank or whoever is lending you money may want to be sure that you can pay back and thus they will endeavor to comprehend your financial ability. They will probably therefore maintain some kind of record to tell them how good you are for the loans you ask for. But those records will be kept with a view to maximizing their own benefit. Thus the more credible records for determining your financial state would be expected from your personal accountant.

The equivalent of Nigeria's accountant with respect to understanding the degree of poverty, among other economic indicators, in the country is the National Bureau of Statistics. As you will see from Soludo's response to NOI, the NBS is kept safe from government interference to ensure that what it produces can be trusted by interested bodies especially potential economic partners. That would make sense.

But then before we agree with these people we must first make sure they are still in touch with the field. It is just like Einstein in his old age kicking against the Heseinberg's Uncertainty Principle because he considers it rubbish even without accepting to try it out. Or the men in Galileo's time refusing to look at his telescope. In both, they are cut off reality by thinking to know too much(Einstein) and allowing sentiments override commonsense. Soludo is suffering from a combination of both.
I will give you Soludo's own answer to that.

Soludo replies Okonjo-Iweala:
www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/176097-soludo-replies-okonjo-iweala-accuses-her-of-forging-national-economics-statistics.html

In that writing, he tells you what he has been up to since leaving the CBN. And I googled to confirm. I encourage you to do the same.

Before I go ahead let me show you what I am saying. First, the church, I don't like the man Oyedepo to begin with, has refuted that statement. What the businessman(Oyedepo) said was that God will open the gates of hell on enemies of Nigeria.

Second. If Christains are whipped with such fear I think the question we should ask if it is justifiable. As in, has the man MB indicated in any way that he is willing to do such? Are these fears unfounded? The answer is, he has showed by his statements that he is willing to if you can but he cannot. He has publicly showed inside him his willingness to the cause of sharia and not hide his desire for this wind of sharia to touch all of us. I just paraphrased him.

Now do we then pardon him because he was playing the part of a politician? Are politicians rogue by nature? But then, you are missing something here, Ihe. That is, a man whose rise to this pedestal was controlled only by a leprose hand of integrity will have nothing to keep him there when the hand has been truly exposed for what it is. Integrity is his saviour and doom.

I freely admit that I have been operating well below par in arguments for a long time now. I should have done some research to confirm a few things before throwing them into the fray. I am learning that there is some doubt that a preacher actually said that they would open the gates of hell against anyone that opposes GEJ. I haven't confirmed what the truth is there. And I haven't confirmed your own statements about Buhari.

I am paying closer attention now than before. I will let you know what I learn. In the meantime, considering how you distrust practically all the newspapers I know, where do you get the information you post so confidently?

Hello,

I have some questions about working in the media. I have two opportunities- working in banking or working in the media. The stress of banking is making me consider working for a national newspaper (I have an interview with a popular newspaper).

I hope you have time to advice me.
Hello sir. I don't quite measure life in terms od stress nor do I advise people to do so. The question I urge everyone to ask is how they can add useful value to life.

Banking is just as vital to the life of a community as information is. I chose media because I think that knowing what really is happening around you helps you make wise decisions for your personal life and make meaningful contributions to the life of the community. Considering too that finding and sharing accurate information too in a world where lies are revered is also not a walk in the park, the job of journalism is at least as stressful as banking. The question for you to answer is what either means to you.

I wish you wisdom in your soul-searching.

We are also assured that there is a way of escape with every trial. The way of escape is always the same, and that is the cross. If we would go to the cross and die to ourselves, our own ambitions, and the cares of this world, which are usually the roots of our trials, we would immediately find a peace that goes beyond human understanding. We are called to be dead to this world (see Galatians 6:14). What can the world do to a dead man? It is impossible for a dead man to feel rejected, abused, taken advantage of, or be concerned with loss. If we would go to the cross daily with all that we are and have, we would be the most free people the world has ever seen.

If we would go to the cross and die to our own interests every day, we would also be free to love without reservation. Love that is not self-centered is not controlled by the fear of pain or loss. Neither does this love try to control the object of our love.

Just as there could be no resurrection without there first being a death; there can be no victory without a battle. Like the tests we take in school to go on to higher levels, every test we endure in our lives is so we can go on to higher levels of maturity in the Lord. We should see every test as a great opportunity. The greater the test, the greater the opportunity. Always remember that regardless of how dark it seems to get, the light will certainly come, just as surely as the sun will rise every day.

This is lovely smiley

Two babies were in a mother’s womb. One asked the other: “Do you think there's life after delivery?”

The other answered, “Why, yes, of course. There has got to be something after delivery. Perhaps we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”

“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”

The second replied, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t comprehend right now.”

The first snorted, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”

The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”

The first replied, “That's silly. If there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”

“Well, I don’t know,” answered the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”

The first laughed “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s moronic. If Mother exists then where is She now?”

The second replied, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her our world would not and could not exist.”

Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”

To which the second responded, “Sometimes, when it's quiet and I focus and really listen, I can perceive Her presence, and I can hear Her loving voice singing over us from above.”

Illogical and preposterous article. Sorry to say, it never proved anything but beating around the bush.

It was made by assumptions i.e if embryos could reason and talk, and badly, it can't--which makes your assertion useless and uncerntian.
....and, human does all that.
By the way, is it applied to non-twins, triplet, quadruples? grin What about ones that die in the womb - miscarriage; does it mean the scenario would play like that too?

It could have been easier to believe that "myraids of crap" up there, had it been God provides food on a platter of Gold like umbilical cord of a woman does, without us stressing afar to get a food.

Zygote isn't formed by a female alone - it's the fusion of male & female gamete and using that scenario to prove anything is akin to saying there are many gods that created us.

Last but not the least, there is no confusion in the womb, as they have only one mother unlike this world where there's Yahweh, Allah, Buddah, Olodumare, Sango, Amadioha etc, all claiming to be right....

You religious theists, would never learn how to prove the existence of your God without using deist "Modus operandi" --only deists can use the article, without condracting himself/herself.

This used to be, once upon a time in 2012. When we were young, Jesus Freaks and carefree.

When Dagr8 was my bebfl.
When Muskeeto used to make me so angry alongside logicboy.
When Ujsizzle was much younger.
When we all still lived in dream land, then reality crept through closed doors and we drifted apart.
When ATMC was just fun
Ishilove still young at heart
Superbloke stealing ladies hearts since 100 BC
When toba was officially single and searching, my trusted mog
When there was Bella and guitarlife
An0nimus was still playing "thousand years" on his guitar before they snatched it.
There was Yetseyi and OmoDaddy, cool chicks.
Salc and Francistony, my lovely funny pair.
We used to play a lot here, but now all we talk about is money, kids, wives, husbands, marriage and politics.
