The southwestern states are actually the battleground states in this election and local politics play an important role in determining where their votes will swing.

Just a little exercise for you, do a little research on the present vibe of the local politics in Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti (I will leave kwara and edo states, though the politics of the southwest in recent times dictate what happens in these two states) and tell me if you think APC can truly carry the southwest. A point to note: ignore vanguard, punch, leadership and nairaland e-warrior reports.

In the game of politics and as a President of a country, you cannot fight all traitors openly; you can only engage in silent battles. You even have to be very diplomatic and graceful about it or else you will allow the opposing camp make some political camp out of it.

GEJ is not banking on the likes of Yuguda and Lamido for votes, yet he would be getting some votes through them by not fighting them in the open. This situation calls for tact and I think the President is applying it quite well.

The two major losers in this game will be Govs Kwakwanso and Lamido, one of them have the potentials of being a PDP president in 2019.

There is no doubt, GEJ will win re-election; my only worry is the violence that will follow.

APC stands a very good chance of taking the south west. I can't see APC losing Lagos on the presidential level, it will be close but he will lose. Ogun, Osun and Oyo too..

I was in the US during the re election and there was never any doubt that Obama will win. It was not this close.

Yes, people were disappointed with Obama but there was no way, he'd have lost to Romney.

The atmosphere in this election is completely different. It is too close to call and Jonathan stands a real chance of losing.

No! No! This is not heating up the polity because it's not inciting violent attacks. OBJ is just like U and I who see something and has decided to say something and do something. When he hand-picked him to become the VP last time there was no noise, when he took him by the hand in 2011 to persuaded Nigerians to vote for him we called it passion. So, now that the same man feels the man has become counter-productive and is capable of destroying Nigeria if he continues the way he's going, he decided to stop supporting him; now we begin to vilify him. We should thank God that we have someone close to the President who will not concur to all the wishes of President because of personal gains.

Alh.Abdullahi Babangida Muhammad was an active member of PDP in Gombe State. As you can see on the photo, the former SSA Security can no longer guarantee the security of the PDP Membership card because, he has abandoned the party. He is now a member of APC.
