eph12:There is no sense in catching 62,000 fraudulent slots in a ministry and the head of the ministry sits there while she deceives her father that she is fighting systemic corruption, has she not heard of consequence management before? Iweala is a stark illiterate. |

slimfit1:You talk about police and sub police as if these are sent from heaven. Developed worlds are looking for ways to limit or even phase out traditional policing to be replaced by technology, you are here talking rubbish and feeling intelligent. A relative of mine who have worked in the police force for more than 32yrs now always says to anybody that would listen that she has seen too many armed robbers killed by the police but yet robbers are still robbing. She says that even in the venue where robbers are being executed, others are coming to steal and pick pockets there. Go to the ghettos in New York where many black people are being thrown into jails everyday, yet the crime rates are still high there. All you guys want to see is people being jailed, how about prevention for a true change. Even the US is tired of building jails cause they are expensive to maintain and operate in the long term. The right institutions, driven by the right technology and over seen by the right hearts should be the right means of policing in this modern time and not just uniformed men who are themselves are sometimes as corrupt as the ones they are expected to police. |

slimfit1:It is your ability to REASON and the those who liked your statement that should be in question here. If you do not have hatred running through your vein, you'll COMPLETELY agree with her. Now which of her statement rattles you? This one: the absence of the relevant systems and institutions that will help check corruption has created opportunities for people to engage in the act.Or: “This thing has been with us and we must crack it. This is not something that started in this country today; but it is something that we must crack "Even a primary school pupil will understand these statements. Like you know the duties of the Police or EFCC or the ICPC. Did you not also read this part: The minister said that the names of the persons found to be involved in the act had been sent to the ICPC for further action.Bro you need to be educated. It is a pity if you reason like this and claim to have passed through the fall walls of a university. If indeed you did have education even at the secondary school level, you must have done Social Studies or Government or in the university, you must have done one or two Social Sciences course. But if you did, and still think like you currently do, you need help! Don't come here to show your illiteracy and expose others like you - those liking your posts. |

I agree with what our finance minister said but i would like the government to make sure that notable people get purnished for those crimes if busted and also political forgiveness for criminals should be discouraged. Let those presidential pardon go to people who were wrongly convicted or those that had sincerely change. |

On a scale of 1 to 10 of leadership skills and intelligence, 10 being the highest, a leader on level 3 like we have now can only attract people with level 2 and 1 around him that is why we are saddled with the likes of Abba Moro, Okupe, Obanikoro, Fayose, Sambo etc around Jonathan. If he manages to attract a 6 or 7 like Okonjo-Iweala, the natural occurrence is for her intelligence to head south and tend towards 4 or even 3. That is the predicament that informed these senseless statements from Iweala. In spite of the phantom savings from technology fraud fighting, the Recurrent expenditure of the annual budget has shot up to 72 % leaving a measly 28% for capital investments, who is deceiving who? |

Ovamboland:Ah ha....you again. If you claim her statement is senseless, then what about you? Don't you think you couldn't get her message which was in clear and simple English? Don't you think also that your post here is senseless? The answers will depend on how you understand these statements from her: “This thing has been with us and we must crack it. This is not something that started in this country today; but it is something that we must crack. |

ogene007:You made some valid points but those points reek of blank hypocrisy. We know that asset forfeiture act, removal of immunity clause and review of evidence act will go a long way in curbing corruption, my question is; WHY ARE THE LAWS NOT PASSED? Before you blame it on the law makers hence absolving Iweala and Patience Goodluck, let me quickly remind you the laws that were passed in recent times. NERC act as amended was quickly passed into law, we didn't even get the chance to peruse its contents before the legislation express tickets was granted, as Nigerians what we noticed is that a 750 naira access charge have been smuggled into the new law and implementation to commence effective immediately. Later, we found out again that the privatization exercise gave a friend of Mr president the right to operate a DISCO comprising of 4 states without competition, the states are Anambra, Enugu, Imo and Abia states. let us assume that there are 20 million homes in this four states (probably more), the new law guarantees that Patience and associates will enjoy a whooping 15,000,000,000 naira upfront whether or not they serve you electricity. Can you explain to us without insulting our collective intelligence how the law that lined the pockets of associates of the president get express attention in the National assembly while the laws that will form an institutional frame work for fighting corruption is caught up in traffic or rightly put, legislative bottlenecks? Another law that will interest you is the indigenisation policy act as amended we did not know the details of the law till SPDC decided to dispose off 5 oil blocks OML26, 30, 34, 40 and 42, BPE insisted that the new law must be followed to encourage indigenous companies to participate in oil and gas acquisition, before we could shout "blood of god", 5 oil blocks estimated at 2 billion barrels of crude worth over $200b flew wings and landed in the pockets of friends and cronies of Mr president. Till date I am still in shock how the legislature was able to block the PIB, could it be that the legislature have seen the thick choppings there in and they have not agreed on a sharing formula? OR the prayers of men and women in the oil sector have been answered? If iweala believes the institutions don't exist, why are the institution of corruption growing fat by the day? what is the formula they are using to approve laws that line their pockets that refused to work for the greater good of Nigerians? Just recently, Iweala was accused of manipulating NBS figures Now that you decide which economic statistics published by NBS to accept and which ones to ‘change the methodology’ to give favourable figures, you can keep feeding your manipulated figures to your international media circus for the vain glorious awards to sustain an empty hype, while Nigerians groan under hardship. We can actually ask Nigerians whether they are getting better off now contrary to your bogus figures.... Prof Chukwuma SouldoI know most of you may not understand the enormity of that allegation, while madam is feeding world bank with fictitious figures that the economy is growing, Nigerians are languishing in abject poverty, World bank believe that Nigeria is the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world based on figures iweala fed them, it wont be long before world bank and their cohorts will withdraw aid, loans and other support believing we are who we are not. How can a woman who manipulated the little "institution" we have claim we lack those "institutions" while making no reasonable attempt to bring on board new water proof institutions. You can help her to answer the questions if you can. |

Decryptor:FFK holds the right to be in APC or PDP. He, however, shouldn't be holding that post for the president, when he still has corruption case in court. For your info, the court only struck out some of the cases against him. He still has other charges hanging over his neck. Call a spade a spade my guy. wrong thing is wrong and can never be painted right... |
