Too much flow in most cases(not all) are cause by the uses of different contraceptive especially preventives ones.
This often occur when young ladies are running away from being pregnant.

Most common cause in young fertile women is fibroids, most especially in dark skin population. Might also want to think about things like coagulation disorders (not able to form blood clots), and tumor.
