You really don't need a soothsayer to tell you that buhari's certificate does not even exist |

They both know the truth. I hope Buhari’s working visit to UK includes a stopover at Cambridge to get a printout of his certificate. |

There are clues all over the place. Take the Unity school admission criteria for instance. A Zamfara indigene with 50 points score will be admitted while a prospective student from the East or West will need at least 150 points to be considered. The retired general's explanation makes sense more and OBJ knows it. Even in today's world, one will be admitted into any course in any of the Northern universities with a letter of recommendation from Emir of Zauzau or any other first class leader in the North. It is an open secret. / |

menesheh:Nothing. If Buhari has WASC, he could gave dug it out long ago to shame his critics. All of Nigeria cannot spark because the courts ruled that Buhari {who must have failed to take WASC exam before he joined the officer cadet corp of Nigeria Army} is not qualified to contest next presidential election. INEC has WASC on its official Notice Board as Buhari's pressumed academic qualification to contest election to possibly become Nigeria's president. There could not have been any country in the world in 1961 where someone who did not have basic secondary school leaving certificate could be GENUINELY admitted into officers cadet corps of the country's armed forces. An Emir's letter must have smuggled Buhari without WASC into the officers cadet course then. |

[quote author=Duru1 post=31055906]I guess Olusegun Obasanjo shall remain a fool for a very long time. One of the majors reasons that precipitated January 15, 1966 coup was that government of Nigeria under the Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa had allowed indigenes of northern region of Nigeria without a secondary school certificate to be commissioned as officers in Nigerian armed forces while denying such opportunity to southerners, especially the Igbo chaps with at least Grade 2 in WASC. [/quote educate them... Good history class. |

Tranquill:There obviously were two different criteria. One for the south and another for the North. Is anyone surprised? It has been quota system all along. I have said it many times that if Buhari was from akwa-ibom or Abia, he would have ended up as WO11. |

darisgod:. You may not even have PVC. APC has filled your brain with its falsehood propaganda. Jonathan has done good for Nigeria more than any of his predecessor, and despite the distraction by your Boko friends. |

Osun State Governor is not qalified to be on that list. He attended Polytechnic and I doubt if he's even COREN certified. Besides, he had never done a meaningful job until 1999 when Bola Tinubu picked him up from Vendors' stand where he regularly patronised to read newspapers. PrinceMario: |

Duru1:Dede, as a retired soldier, you are supposed to know better, but have allowed tribalism to block your reasoning. Would you also believe that some Igbo that were not academically qualified adopted Hausa/Muslim names just to be enlisted into the army? Francis Musa was one of them. |

Buhari joined with a letter of recommendation. He never wrote WASC. Buhari is one certificate less fellow and as such not fit to lead Nigeria |

This is how the worst of us has ruled the best of us. And this is why mediocrity has continued to reign supreme in Nigeria even till date. This double standard is one of the bane of our nation. I cannot imagine the number of better qualified individuals that Buhari would have displaced to join the army with letter. Yet people want to take us back to Egypt in the name of 'change'! God forbid. |

If at all anything like that happened, don't blame those Igbos too much. They would have seen what was going on in the system - The cheating. You would have asked yourself why such people didn't retain their name? Why should the northerner be given undue and undeserved advantage over other compatriots. It's wrong. It negates the principle of fairness and equal right. And I challenge you, those Igbos you claimed did that, go and check them today (those alive) if they don't have at least a master's degree. Try not to justify wrong please. OrlandoOwoh: |

General Tarfa is correct. Expediency was the order of the day in the early years. Every one knows that in the nascent years of most organisations the competencies required are not exclusively academic. These come after such organisations are 'planted' and stablished. Certificates were not the priorities of the British Army in the 50's and 60's. In a fledgeling democracy such as ours certificates should not be relevant either rather leadership qualities should be prioritised. It was a mistake by INEC to include it and we should all collectively ignore it or suspend it from the statutes. Buhari must be permitted to bring his qualities to the table to balance power and found this democracy. Nigeria and the APC in particular has not done enough to broaden the political space and create a market of choices so we must collectively adopt affirmative action. I've worked for, done start-ups and tasked myself in things I am not 'certified' to do but when the resources donot equal the objectives that is the risk that has to be undertaken. Our democracy right now cannot afford certified experts. What we need right now is plain old leadership and blue collar muscle men. When it becomes a brand then we can be choosy. Leave this certificate issue and let Buhari be abeg. |
