Buhari’s UK Mission Exposed-seeks Campaign Funding From Arabs by erunz(m): 9:20am On Feb 25, 2015 |
The London Trip Of Presidential Candidate Of The All Progressives Congress (APC), Maj- Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Indicates That The Party Is Now Broke And May Have Lost Steam In The Pursuit Of Its Goal Backed By Propaganda And Lies Paul Yovo, Lagos Despite repeated claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that its presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari is in London to honour a date with Chatham House, The UNION has however, authoritatively, been informed that the candidate is actually in the United Kingdom on revenue drive. A source which is very close to the General, confirmed to The UNION, under condition of anonymity, that “he went to UK in search of money”. According to our source, the APC campaign fund had dried up leaving the presidential candidate with no other option than flying into the UK to meet with people he believed would throw in money into his project. The source further disclosed that Buhari had already met with some Arab friends and South African representatives, whom he believed would likely fund his campaign till March 28 when the presidential election is scheduled to hold. Though our source did not disclose identities of Buhari’s Arab friends, he said that “they are oil rich Arab friends who are looking for a way to launder their money”. He further said, “You know these Arabs have a lot of money, most of which they get from corrupt sources. He (Buhari) believes they may help him out”. Asked if the Arab friends are actually willing to drop their money, our source said “you know these people are gamblers”. Buhari’s London visit had been shrouded in secrecy as his schedule meeting with the Nigerian community had to be shifted three times within minutes, just as to keep away inquisitive eyes. A Nigerian blogger resident in London had blogged about the meeting, wondering why the venue was changed three times in a row with the actual venue not disclosed to Nigerians. He had said that Nigerians who waited at the last publicised venue, waited in vain as Buhari did not show up. According to the blogger, Buhari’s wife and some family members eventually showed up at the venue but the APC presidential candidate did not turn up till past midnight when most of them left. The UNION further gathered that Buhari decided to go abroad when it became difficult for him to convince APC governors to throw in more money into the campaign. He was also said to have failed to convince former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to prevail on his South African allies to bring in more money. Our source disclosed that “part of the money he gave to Buhari came from his South African friends but they are not willing to give him more”. It was learnt that he had made attempts at convincing some APC governors, notably those of Rivers and Kano states to open state vaults for the campaign, a request, which The UNION gathered, leadership of the party could not even push. Buhari has found it difficult to penetrate Kano State as his face-off with Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over the choice of Umar Ganduje as Kwankwaso’s successor, had left him in limbo. Already, the Kwankwaso group, popular as Kwankwasiyya, The UNION gathered, had vowed to vote against Buhari for his refusal to accord Ganduje, Kwankwaso’s anointed successor, the recognition he deserved. Buhari had refused to recognise Ganduje in preference for gate-jumping- member of the House of Representatives, Suleiman Kawu, who it was learnt had been his ally. The face-off had pitched Buhari against Kwankwaso who it was also learnt, had effectively blocked access to funds from the state for APC. The UNION further learnt, that having failed to secure funds from Kano State government, the party turned its attention to Rivers State hoping that Rotimi Amaechi would unlock the state vaults for the party again like he had earlier done. It was learnt that the APC met a brickwall in River State as leaders of the state now focused more on the finances of the state and are asking questions which the governor is yet to answer favourably. For instance, leaders of the state are still asking the governor to explain source of the N11,086,000.00 which Amaechi spent in funding a trip to London for APC members including Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Tony Okocha, Mr. Preye Aganaba, Philemon Adjekulo, and Uche Igwe in September 2014. Documents from Rivers State government obtained by The UNION, indicate that Amaechi had ordered Zenith Bank Plc to release the said amount to Okocha, his Chief of Staff to effect the trip.Okocha had in a memo dated September 2, 2014 and addressed to Gov. Amaechi, titled RE: APC SESSION AT THE UK HOUSE OF COMMONS, told the governor that “Martin Brown, Senior Political Adviser, Extractive Industries Group, is inviting four (4) APC party faithful in the state to a scheduled session at the UK House of Commons which will dwell on: The Challenges of Insecurity in Nigeria and Boko Haram Insurgency on September 8, 2014. “The topic is very apt today when PDP is casting aspersions of Boko Haram sponsoring on our party (APC). Distinguished leaders from our party like Lai Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary, frontline leader, Mallam Nasir Elrufai are also to speak. “The total cost of the journey including flight tickets and accommodation is N11,086,000 (Eleven Million and Eighty Six Thousand Naira) only”. Okocha further gave a breakdown of the amount to indicate that he was to get N1,740,000.00 while Aganaba, Igwe and Adjekulo were to receive N870,000 each. The sum of N6,736,000 was written off as flight tickets at N1,684,000 each. In convincing Amaechi to order release of the money, Okocha wrote that “the session is part of systematic effort to re-engineer global public perception of our party APC”. Gov. Amaechi approved release of the same amount the following day when he minuted on the memo: “COS/COM.Fin/AG approved. Pls pay N11,086,000 (Eleven Million and eighty six thousand naira) only”. Interestingly, while Amaechi approved release of the money on September 3, a letter to Zenith Bank, ordering release of the same amount, was dated September 2. In the letter with reference number GHPH/008/S.5/07566 addressed to the Manager, Zenith Bank Port Harcourt, Amaechi authorised release of the same amount to Okocha. This deal, which most Rivers State leaders find awful remain unexplained and have however attracted greater attention to the management of state funds by Amaechi. Our source also said “that is part of the reasons he is no longer ready to bring out money like he used to. Wike and the others are close-marking him”. It was also learnt that Buhari may have met some South African allies of Atiku in the bid to convince them to throw in more money into the campaign. However, The UNION gathered that the refusal by expected funding sources to agree to release more money to Buhari may not be unconnected with the perception that he has lost grounds in the campaigns and will not be able to dislodge the PDP from the presidency as earlier expected. “Some of them are no longer ready to fund him because they believe he has lost grounds to PDP. The shift in the election date has greatly affected him and PDP has recovered tremendously”, our source noted. Another top security source told The UNION that Buhari’s campaign funding partners are weary of dropping more money because they now know he cannot win the election due to rising public awareness about his past and his support to radical Islam. Spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Garba Shehu, had in an earlier report, hinted that APC may have run out of financial steam when he told The UNION in a response to question about the funding of ‘clerics’ for Buhari’s phantom endorsement, that Buhari has no money for such project. “Where is the money to rent them going to come from? Buhari doesn’t have NNPC; he doesn’t have Sure- P neither does he have NEMA. So, where is the money going to come from”, Shehu had asked. http://theunion.com.ng/buharis-uk-mission-exposed-seeks-campaign-funding-from-arabs/ 1 Like |

They won't allow him entry into UK. He went to UK because he's sick. He didn't meet Tony Blair. Now it's that he went to beg for money from Arabs. You guys need to make up your minds quickly. Now if this were true, what is wrong with that? If Arabs are willing to give him money to campaign then what this means is he has international connections and it means they've decided to support the winning candidate. 2 Likes |

Lots of things will be revealed within this extension of the elections. It left for us to decipher which is true or lies. Truths are being challenged and lies are being dressed up to look like the truth. We know that no matter how far a lie has travelled, the truth will catch up with it. We also know that truth is constant. I don't like commenting on things that cannot be verified, atleast immediately, but there is something fishy wrong with the entity called Buhari, some we already know, we will find out more later, just hope it would not be too late then. Defending GEJ is quite difficult, I will just concentrate on the little positives he has done. As for Buhari, I don't trust him. I guess both are desperate but are really not worth Nigeria, but we are stuck with them as the only option now. Whether we like it or not its either GEJ or Buhari that will be president, if we still have a Nigeria. |
