Very original, logical & smart.

Unlike Diana (goddess of hunting), Sandra, Kevin & all these meaningless oyinbo-wannabe names of these days.

Op that name in this topic "Amutorunwa" in Igbo it simply means "Prick wey senior pikin"

Dunno your intentions of putting it their when you didn't emphasise on it in your post.

Dear God, please provide me with Tayewo and Kehinde. Please wink

I can see it, it is in my destiny to have twins
Re: Oruko Amutorunwa (generic Names In Yoruba Culture) by phocuyelu: 4:02pm On Feb 25, 2015
tpiah99:
Taiwo- first born of twins. Commonly believed to be the younger "spiritually" and to have been sent by the other twin to test the waters/earth first to see if it was good.

Kehinde: the younger of twins but traditionally, considered the older who delayed coming a bit and sent taiwo out first.

Idowu- younger sibling of twins

Alaba- younger sibling of Idowu

Idogbe- younger sibling of alaba

Ajayi- child was born facing downwards

Ojo- male child born with its umbilical cord around its neck

Aina-female version of ojo

Oke- child born with the amniotic sac intact

Ige- breech presentation, child born legs first instead of head first

Dada- child who has dreads or tightly curled hair

Ilori- child conceived in the absence of a previous menstruation (?)

Olugbodi- child born with six fingers

Aina isn't the female verson of Ojo. Ijebus don't bear the name "Ojo" but name a male child with his umblical cord round his neck Aina; I don't know why though. My name is Aina and I am a man.....hahahahaha. Heard Ainas/Ojos are very stubborn. What is the relationship?

Uhnn Oga ooo....

But no one knows if the baby sleeps or cries in the womb na
So how did they come to the conclusion? Knowing that it takes 7 or 8 days to name a child.

Not all families believe in using such names in the southwest

these are not names given by the parents or family, they are names the child is born with and yes, most people do not bear the names these days.
