Should Parent Have Favourite Children - Share Your Opinion by lolaxavier(op):
What do you think about parent who have favourite(s) among their children?
For me, I believe my parent like us all equally, evidenced by the fact that there is no preferential treatment meted out to any of us, at least over the time I am aware of.
However, in the real sense, there are parent who clearly pick one or two of their children as favourites due to various reasons. In my opinion, I feel there is always a strong tendency for you to have a favourite but you should not let other children have a sense of feeling about this.
What do you have to say about this as it applies to you? Do you think it is right? For the parent here, do you have a favourite? Relative to your parent, do you think there is a favourite in the family.

It is very important that love should be shared equally amongst children.

Where the situation arises that there's deeper love for a particular child, such love should not be displayed else it will sow the seed of enmity amongst other children.

This seed can grow into a tree of disunity amongst the family in the future breeding distrust and alienation.

Exactly my line of thought but come to think of it, some parents don't actually have a choice but to display affection for one child more than the other, especially in cases where some children bring constant sorrow to the family and there is one that stands out as 'hope' among them.
