Yes, was allowed. I didn't check mine in, so at each stop they collected them at the airplane door and returned it to the door at landing. I had 2 stops.

Yes, checked in a full 23kg bag for free as baby bag.

Also, if you suspect your bag may be heavier than their limit, better to take an extra bag. At the time, the first extra bag cost about $100 or so, but excess in a bag was $200 or so.

Thanks for replying. So all i need to do at check in is to check in our 3 23kg bags and then proceed into the plane with the hand luggage,car seat and the stroller? And then the stroller and car seat would be collected at the entrance of the plane? Is that what you mean?

I want to believe that you are doing this primarily to secure your child's future. You can only ever benefit after your baby turns 21 and is able to financially sponsor you for legal residence. You absolutely DO NOT become a citizen automatically. You still have to meet the residency requirements for 5years before you can apply for U.S citizenship. One of those requirements entails not spending more than 6months outside the U.S or your residency will be considered abandoned and your green card revoked. It's like a lady who once tried to go through the U.S citizens line at POE (because she had a U.S citizen baby) and she was told to get back to the visitors line because your child's citizenship doesn't give you derivative status until he/she petitions for you.

Ok, since I can't sleep now, lemme share my experience:
1. I flew from PH to lag, on getting to PH airport, Aero refused to fly me cos I was 32weeks+4days! Said their policy for preggies is 32weeks, like joke like joke, flight took off without me after they have even issued boarding pass! So I quickly bought arik dat has 34wks policy and got a refund from aero. Arik still had to confirm from pilot before they accepted and took my fit to travel.

2. Got to lag, no worries at all. Checked in with KLM, they didn't ask for fit to fly.Arranged passenger assistance for my gran cos she came with me. Declared my $10k cash to naija custom.

3. At Amsterdam, dey asked my purpose of traveling to the USA, told them vacation and child birth.

Its called the consent form which you can print out from the US embassy website and then either notorise it b4 u travel to US leaving the baby name and the dates blank or let ur husband notorise it after u ve given birth and have it sent by courier to u in the US. It can be notarised at either the US embassy or by a legal practitioner that has a notary seal. You will need a valid ID card for the notorization. Note that u can only notorise at the embassy after the birth of ur child unlike other legal practitioners that can notorise for u before u travel and it is also important for you to confirm if the state u r birthing at accepts consent forms notarised in places other than the embassy hope this helps

Make an appointment online after printing out the consent form and go to the U.S embassy and get it notarized for a fee of $50. Go with international passport for identification purposes. They will not accept any notary outside the embassy oh for obvious reasons.
