Following alleged failure of the machine during the mock exercise conducted on Saturday by INEC, should we still use it?

No. They shouldn't.

Just imagine if this reader fails to work out in Kano State, an area with 44 LGs and an APC state. Imagine what that can do to APC chances at these elections.
Or if it fails to work out in any of the SE/SS states with GEJ's reduced chances of succeeding at this year's polls. Three weeks is too small for rectifying and trusting a faulty device in an event of such importance. These should have been issues of last year.

Meanwhile, those who were agitating against the postponement of the elections must be feeling quite stupid right now. I think it's better we keep quiet in issues we don't understand. INEC wasn't even ready to start with.

Thank God the violence that would have followed such malfunction, especially in the North, was averted.

Since it was successful in Lagos and Delta and the problem in Kano was the traditional painting on their hands yes tha card readers should be used. The whole idea of a trial is to identify the problem ares and fix them. So give INEC a week or so and then do another trial after educating people well on how to wash their hands properly and all

INEC has been very clear right? In such cases, the election will be postponed to the next day and the problem will be rectified.
