This press statement would have made more sense if it was released on the second day that the news broke; not after so many days of escalation culminating in recall of diplomats.

Does it mean the president was not being briefed about important news daily even if he is too busy to read newspapers himself especially when the subject of the news is himself or his 'purported' action? How come he wasn't aware in time that a whole ministry was using his name to lie?

There is surely more to the brouhaha than phone call unless Moroccans are just being silly. Why would Nigerian ministry of foreign affairs insisted on three separate ocassions that the phone conversation took place when it didn't?

Even if we are to believe that the Afdb vote issue, morocco vote is irrelevant to determine who gets the Afdb presidency. It has only 3.5% while nigeria has over 9%. The EU and other non-African countries have over 40%. Many African countries that have more voting powers than morocco are not friendly with morocco, so it cannot influence them. So why should morocco feel fly over what it doesn't control?

I think the man needs to be cautioned before he will end up worst like Gbagbo. The whole world is by every minutes watching him with all sots of dishonest manners. The average black man is a poor scholar.
The last time I said this, someone accused me of being derogatory but it's evident!
The President himself said it that many comments are being made in his favour, which are not from him or with his approval in his media chat.
Yet the black lot are quick to believe every damn thing that flies in front of their noses hook, line and sinker.
The newspapers would take advantage of your insatiable appetite for 'evil' news and spread all sorts of juicy propaganda, and you'll be quick to gobble it all up. Have you ever taken time to isolate the 'quotes' of the person from the rest of the news anytime you read any news? That should go a long way in exposing what you've been fighting over all this while.
Is this not a sign of ineffectiveness? How can a president say many comments are being made in his favour without his approval?

And someone will come here and talk about black man being a poor scholar.... *smh

Recalling envoys is not a new thing in the world and you shouldn't expect the president to jump on air without unravelling the cause of the row. However, the actions and reactions of the Moroccan authorities were replete with vendetta and mischief. Their King should have reached out to the Nigerian president as a matter of courtesy before making it an international altercation. The same card was played by South Africa all in a bid to ridicule Nigeria's leadership role in Africa. It's purely bad belle international politics.
South Africa, Morocco, everybody just hate GEJ's presidency. See, the ministry of foreign affairs issued a statement last week claiming the president had a phone conversation with the king of Morocco. Morocco waited till Tuesday for Nigeria to correct the false statement but nothing happened so they rightly recalled their ambassador. The question now is, why did the president have to wait till after a week to deny the statement by the foreign affairs ministry? So if Morroco haven't responded swiftly to the falsehood of the foreign ministry by recalling their ambassador, the president would just have kept quiet knowing fully well he had no telephone conversation with the Morocco king? Shm! Some things just can't be defended.

Everything points to just one issue: Jonathan has lost control of his government!

It appears, the President has outsourced his duties. Every member of this government apparently now arrogates presidential powers and runs his or her office like a sovereign fiefdom.

Else, how do we explain the confusion in GEJ's government!

There are two kinds of people in
Nigeria today,those who want
CHANGE and those who want
CONTINUITY. If you want change
you are safe, if you want
continuity there are two things
involved, is either you reside in
LAGOS or you are in PDP. If you
are in lagos you are safe, if you
are in PDP there are two things
involved, is either you are
Jonathan's family or you are
naturally corrupt. If you are
Jonathan's family you are safe cox
u ar going back to Otuoke but if
you are naturally corrupt,there
are two things involved, is either
you leave this country before
March 28 or you remain. If you
leave this country you are save
but if you remain, there is ONLY
one thing involved, YOU ROT IN
JAIL! Vote for Change Vote Buhari
Re: Jonathan Denies Speaking With King Of Morocco, Orders Full Investigation by Dav24(m):
That is the handwork of the APC elements in the Nigeria foreign affairs ministry, they dont care about how vicious their actions could be regarding the image of this country. They are on it again, trying to frustrate another Nigerian a leadership slot as the president of African Development Bank because the man is not from the north west, and these people including the yorubas are dancing, if that man is from the north, i bet you, the reaction will be different. Its a big shame when people refused to see the reality. Moreover, the reaction of the moroccan government is hesty but not surprising because it was based on sentiment; they can never support a christian led government, they will view it as a breach of islamic(OIC) aganda for africa, that is the simple truth. Let them go to hell.

What an ediot of a President.

Never ready to accept the responsibility for his abject failure. Always looking for someone to blame or direct his failures at.

Highly irresponsible being for a President.

This would have made an impression on the non-decided voters out there, had Jonathan fired immediately his Minister for Foreign Affairs. But the ediot of a President is going to form a committee to look into the matter. Useless being.

After an ogogoro binge drinking outing at Mama P's joint in my village in Aso, I told Akpati to put me through to the Prince in Maroc and this man may have called Sambo instead. shocked.

I am manifestly embarassed by this and have ordered a full investigation. But wait o, ...why this yeye people come join issues with me on this phone call issue sef? Dem no know say we dey lie everything join for this bazaar season?

Okay, to avoid other diplomatic spat, I may have to restrict myself to local lies like 2nd Mainland Bridge in Onitsha and relocating the capital of Nigeria to Lagos SW, Nigeria.

Once again, the jonathan political machine displays their amateurish tendencies. Playing right into the hands of the Islamist who want nothing but him out of office and their brother buhari in, a minor diplomatic spat like this does not warrant the response it has gotten from rabat, unless they have a ulterior motive.
Still there are some people in some parts of the world who value the truth and their integrity. The Moroccans won't take it likely when you call their king a liar. The statement from the Foreign affairs ministry clealy implied that the Moroccan king lied when he said that he refused telephone conversation with our president. Unlike Nigeria, where leaders shamelessly lie, it is not a small matter to them.

A man with a good moral standing , knowing fully well how people will take false words said about him by his associate or people working under him, will quickly dissociate from such statements . And if such statements are becoming many, he will take necessary actions to stop such actions from taking place in the future .

Jonathan cannot tell nigerians that he did not know about the statements hours after the statements was made. If by any means he does not know, and his advisers, special assistants , messengers and family did not tell him , then heads must role not only within the ministry but also among his own personal entourage. If people dnt get sacked because of these , then we will assume he knows or has been told and refused to take actions untill the whole thing has been blown up to this level. This scenario is then attributed to lack of leadership skills or inability to be a leader.
Whichever way you look at it , lack of leadership got us into this embarassment of who in the goverment is really lying.

Thank God he finally admitted to the truth. There was absolutely nothing to gain from the previous grandstanding of the foreign affairs ministry. No need looking for a scape goat in this matter, the minister of foreign affairs and the permanent secretary in the ministry should be sacked immediately if truly the presidency did not authorise the controversial press release.

Big shame to all the tanoids who disputed the claim of Morocco simply because they felt their tiny god, Goodluck Jonathan can do no wrong. Shame on all those that claim the whole affair was an APC propaganda attack on the presidency. Now that we know the lying party, they should be bold enough to apologies for their lies just like their GEJ just did.
Thank you,God done catch them. I'm sure they would say the foreign affairs officials indicted are card carrying members of apc. In the country of the blind.Zombies in Nigeria.(TAN).

You speak the truth about him not being a man of impeccable moral standing.
But one thing about leadership is tolerance; for that P.H.E. teacher who seemingly knows nothing about education may be the reason your school is thriving [from experience]. However, he needs to eliminate some of these 'talkers'. Frankly, it's getting embarassing.

I take it you distance yourself from leadership positions. No matter how sanctimonious you are as a leader, you must always have to contend with defending issues you have no idea about, be it what you have in mind or what you never thought of. It's a thing that comes with being in power; people fraternize with your name to gain favour of take you down. It's a double edged sword.

It takes one with a preference to doubt first and believing only after evidentia/characterl analysis not to get carried along by the potruding hooks of the falsehood train.
