how good are U in enviromental/Industrial JHA? If u knw ur good in identifying the the JHA codes/Tools box meeting, if u knw ur very good and u think u can pass the HSE level 1-3 exam, then i wil 4ward ur name for exam straigt and u get ur NISP Cert within a week, bt if u cant, then wait till september phase by grace of God if Nigeria still exist then, u join them. But if you can aford to go and do it on ur own, go through this thread u will see recommended training centres.

other HSE officer in the house can help to determine ur pass mark. if you get them right I will help you facilitate the exam and forward ur name for HSE job , you will come back to Nairaland to testify to others within a week

but if you can't then you have to go for the proper hse training.

Project: Bund Wall Rehabilitation.

Project Number: NLSCANTEE/0314/2015.

Contract Start Date: 16th March 2015.

Contract Duration: 4 days.

Summary of Works:Shell flow station,shell location road obigbo,etche.Bund wall rehabilitation,coking of asphalt (using sand,cement and colas),weeding.
Health and Safety targets for this project: (i) This project will be completed with no major injurious accidents.
(ii) All workers will attend appropriate tool box talks and thus will be recorded and monitored.
Mobilization:Before mobilization,the following pre-mobilization plans would be carried out-
(i) Inspection of equipments to be used at work site to ensure they are in optimum working conditions.
(ii) Security plan to ensure the safety of workers from armed robbery and kidnapping attacks.
(iii) Ensure the medical fitness test of all workers.
(iv) Inspect and confirm accomodation and other welfare services for the crew.
At the mobilization phase the following procedures are to be followed:
(a) JOURNEY MANAGEMENT: Ensure the vehicle used for site mobilization and other logistics are effective so also making sure the amount of kilometer ridden for this journey are minimised where ever applicable.
(b) Personnel competence and experience.
(c) Consolidation of equipments and machineries in a safe box with a tight cover/lid.
(d) Ensure safety precautionary measures of both the equipments and crews during transportation to site.
(e) Arrival at site;hse orientation and induction,site inspection etc.

(2) Coking of Asphalt,Cement and Sand:Before this stage kicksoff,the following are to be checked carefully on the bund wall namely;
(a) CRACKS:It perhaps goes without saying that any visual cracks in a bund wall are a serious safety issue. Any liquid behind that wall would simply gush out, making it next to useless.
(b) VEGETATION:Any signs of plant material growth next to (or even close to) any bund wall. It is highly probable that the root system has taken hold through cracks within the wall foundations which could be affecting the integrity of any chemical resistant coatings.
(c) BUND PIPES:It is important to ensure that the area surrounding both the entrance and exits points of the pipework have been reinforced.
After the above 3 checks,the following stages are:
(a) Housekeeping
(b) Develop daily task plan
(c) tool box talks with work crew
(d) P.P.E should be issued to personnel depending on the level of hazard of exposure i.e heat stroke,burns(physical hazard) during coking of asphalt.e.g coverall,handgloves,nose mask,helmet,safety boots etc.
(e) R.R.E incase of confined space entry.

(3) SITE WEEDING:
(a) Relevant P.P.E should be issued to workers i.e safety boots,goggle,hand gloves to prevent physical injury from the work process such as cuts,swellings of the hands,particulate object in the eye,bites from insect i.e scorpion and reptiles i.e snakes etc and the site clearing equipment used must be an object that can be lifted with general posture,so as to improve the ergonomics between man and the machine.

(4) DEMOBILIZATION:
(a) Restore site;at this stage the sites as been restored/rehabilitated to a full functional condition.
(b) Evacuate materials,equipments and personnel;this is the last stage after which the rehabilitation excercise as been executed,all materials,equipments are (consolidated) and personnel are returned back to base in safe and timely manner.
(c) Compile safety report;i.e report safety issues,report incident,near miss,unsafe act/conditions and occupational accident if any.

@ihatenaija. Kudos u really tried, i am impressed but still, going by the HSE Rep ur likely to face for brief interview, there are still much to work out, note the following, u will be asked to represent identified hazards with company jha codes. Ur required to identify the risks/hazards in each stage of the works, outline ppe to be used and duration before replacement, report solutions incase of any incident, finally draft a platform whereby any reported cases can promplty been taken care of. More so at the stage of pre-mob/toolsbox meeting/inductions ur to outline the arear of induction, and ur expected to make sure that all personnel must know the 12 life saving rules. I wil email you later.
