Glamrock:i see you have made up your mind, anyways don't take my post so personal, i was just trying to realistic here. You made it sound like Us is bad and no other place is bad hence my response. i wish you the best here in Nigeria but i think you should consider a vacation first before moving in totally to get how things are done. |

experimentist:Goodluck with that, but while you are packing your bags ask yourself why are Nigerians packing their bags to move to every country in the world to get out of Nigeria? You won't miss your water until your well runs dry, and stop lying to these people you won't last a week without electricity. |

ROSSIKE:Hahahaha you keep making a fool of yourself. You just shot yourself on the foot. GDP per capita is same as per capita income, which is GDP divided by total population. This gives the average income of the populace, which is a true measure of personal wealth & standard of living. It's also an important factor in the development index. Unfortunately, Nigeria has one of the lowest GDP per capita in the world, it's so poor that there are only a few countries worse than Nigeria. What this implies is that most Nigerians live in abject poverty, further buttressing my point that the OP need not think of moving to that hell hole. Thanks for handing me victory, your stupi*dity is your Achilles hill, when you chose to engage people of superior intellect, sooner or later your idiocy would be laid bare for all to see. I'm sure you're one of the many half-baked graduates being churned out by failed Nigerian universities.... You're a failure, you should write to your secondary school/Uni asking them for a refund of your wasted tuition fees. |

Glamrock:No worries, sis. I know that call home all too well. There are quite a few who are thinking along the same lines, not all are even black either. do you know what you would like to do in nigeria and where you want to live. Please consider a gradual exposure to africa, then a gradual relocation with both and entry and exit plan. i have lots of future plans for the redressing of the slave trade.......there needs to be a bringing together, and healing/reconciliation process between africa and all her descendants. there are some storis of people moving back nly to regret, but it is largely due to lack of planning. i would sy the vast majority of people i know or friends of friends that have gone back are doing tremendously well, but after they worked very hard. nigeria has many opportunities that may not be open to you in the us. i'm going to get some info that may be of interest to you. |

londoner:Yes my plan is in motion and currently being put in to place. I'm looking to relocate In calabar. I have friends all over Nigeria, Africa in general who I've know for years who I've learned a lot from and has been very good to me. I come visit calabar this August. I Idk why so many are replying assuming I don't know anything or what's going on over there. |

biafranqueen:Nne, u don't understand the gist. Dude is trying to justify using an industrial inverter on his private apartment; thus he posited that he is living in a 3 storey building. That's propesterous! A duplet is quite understandable as the stair case is inside and not outside as the case of 3-storey buildings which is normally used as rented apartments. Wouldn't it be stragne moving from one floor to the other via an external stair case in a 3-story building that is exclusively yours? |

otiigba1:Don't mind the scare mongers. Nigeria is not as bad as they are painting it. Heck! There are millions of people who live here and won't exchange it for anywhere else even if they were served on a platter. Of course, I'm not saying Nigeria is a paradise but you don't need to be a super human to survive and live your life. As for the elections, there are hot spots like parts of Rivers state and most part of the North-east(generally due to the Boko Haram scurge). But at least 90% of Nigeria is safe all the time. You can come to the country, just be sure you avoid the hotspots. You people painting Nigeria bad are just giving a dog a bad name just to hang it. I definitely want a change in government in the centre and I think GEJ doesn't deserve a 2nd term but Nigeria is my country and I ain't leaving for anything. It's you people who are praying for everything to go up in smoke that will be disappointed. N. B: Please get your PVCs and vote out the present PDP govt. We need a better deal. Let's allow Buhari to sanitise the system so other Africans/Nigerians in the diaspora like the OP will want to come back home. |

Glamrock:its entirely a different thing to live there though. it can be done, but it has to be done right. you are definately an inspiration for those of us that have similar aspirations. the mind set of the avrage african/nigerian is that west is always best so many wont uderstand why you would want to leave america let alone live in nigeria. i feel better that you are heading to calabar and not lagos. places like calabar, akwa ibom, abuja and enugu are places to ease yourself in. |

| Re: 10 Reasons Why I'm Leaving America And Moving To Nigeria by Glamrock(op): 7:35pm On Mar 15, 2015 |
londoner:I'm aware it would be different living there. It would be a big cultural change no matter what country in the world I decided to go to. Adjustment, determination, faith. I'm not worried at all. Tis my destiny |
| Re: 10 Reasons Why I'm Leaving America And Moving To Nigeria by londoner: 7:36pm On Mar 15, 2015 |
BOWOTO:Why are you reacting like that? The op is an African American who is moving back to her roots. We are not talking about someone who was born, lived or has Nigerian parents. Its a big deal in fact. |

If you last lasted one month living in Nigeria, I promise to give you 50K.....where do i start mosquitoes in Nigeria , Electricity, Air pollution, Road traffic, Nigeria Jagaja Road network, Egunje Nigeria police, Marauding Armed robbers, kidnappers, over crowded people roaming about (hustlers).... I beg you oh, stay in yankee and eat your tomato chemical soup jeje oh...A word is enough for the wise.. I will rather be fourth class citizen and escape hell hole on earth like Nigerian. However, I salute your courage for wanting to come back to your fatherland, We son of the soils will like to taste little bit of what you are enjoying in Obodo Oyinbo country. However, I don't blame you, its because you have not seen bitter leaf, reason why you are calling spinach herbal medicine leaf. |

Thomsbuky:Come on now, lets not paint a picture of Nigeria that is only really limited to a few places, as the reality is that all those things you mentioned often do not exist in one place. I think some people are more revealing where/how they are living than how everyone will live. The op said she was heading to Calabar, which we know does not have reputation for all the things you listed, maybe some, not all. The expat life in Nigeria or the life in Nigeria of Nigerians living away from hustling and overcowded places is not the same as someone who is hustling in Lagos or the streets of Aba trying to make it. |

[quote author=Glamrock post=31649811]Life is what YOU make it[/quote ------------------------------------- Tell that to all of the people running out of Nigeria, there must be a reason for their migration so you can stop your bullcrap by trying to impress them because they know better. |

The deadly foods and drinks are already proliferating Africa at the moment. Coming from food aid,China and all sorts of rogue means. Even African commercial farmers are practising the western style of mass producing and cosmetics farming, using GMO seeds, pesticides and insecticides uncontrollably just to maximise profits. Africans need to rise up to the challenges, do it differently, ethically, efficiently and more eco friendly. It is obvious oyinbo didn't get it right, especially in the aspect of food. Their foods are literally poison, especially in the hands of diickheads that can't control their insatiable appetites. |
