Re: A Thread For Catholics by Syncan(m):
From today's readings. IS 49:8-15

"...But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me;my Lord has forgotten me.” Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you".

Many of us must have felt like Zion at certain times in our lives. Times when we felt like we've been abandoned by God. Imagine the Sister whose spouse dies on their wedding day, the brother whose shop is gutted by fire just after he restocked, the brother whose football career ends abruptly from injury at the point of a lifetime big signing, a sister who finds out her fiance is not compatible by blood after years of friendship and dating, "many are the afflictions of man" says scripture. At such times, it's so hard not to feel like Zion. So hard it is not to feel abandoned by God, as if God has gone to sleep, or deaf to prayers, or too mean to forgive certain offenses we could remember having committed, hence leaving us to our fate.
Beloved, recall how quickly we run to the rescue of loved ones, Imagine how much we undergo in sacrifice to ensure the comfort of those we care for, yet all these attributes of love, care, compassion, etc, that we exhibit are mere patches of what God posses, for He created us in his Image and likeness. Scriptures says "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy" Psalm 145:8 . It is an assurance that God will never abandon His own, And Jesus assures in the Gospel, that God is always at work, hence he never sleeps: “My Father is at work until now, so I am at work...” Jn 5:17-30 says the master Himself. So it matters not the dark night you're presently experiencing, keep calm, trust in Him and keep knocking, the Sun of Justice and Light of the world will shine on you. Know that certain persons have experienced worse and still withstood, you can do it too, for Joy shall come in the morning...yes, yes but only for winners, not for losers. Pray for Syncan too.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.

Praise to the Holiest in the height,
and in the depth be praise;
in all his words most wonderful,
most sure in all his ways!

O loving wisdom of our God!
When all was sin and shame,
a second Adam to the fight
and to the rescue came.

O wisest love! that flesh and blood,
which did in Adam fail,
should strive afresh against the foe,
should strive, and should prevail;

and that the highest gift of grace
should flesh and blood refine:
God's presence and his very self,
and essence all-divine.

O generous love! that he who smote
in man for man the foe,
the double agony in Man
for man should undergo.

And in the garden secretly,
and on the cross on high,
should teach his brethren, and inspire
to suffer and to die.

Praise to the Holiest in the height,
and in the depth be praise;
in all his words most wonderful,
most sure in all his ways!

Good morning brethren.

Re: A Thread For Catholics by Syncan(m):
Solemnity of St. Joseph, husband of the blessed Virgin Mary

From today's Gospel. MT 1:16, 18-21, 24A

"...Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly...".

What could you not give to have a partner with such a heart like Joseph's? Someone you'll entrust with your life knowing it's safe. It matters not what area of life, business, friendship, roommates, marriage, religious community, etc, Such realization gives you strength to wake up each day and face the world, it is a security that is not seen by the world, but means the world to you. That was the way Mary felt in the home of St. Joseph. Secured!

"My daughter, although you have described my spouse, Saint Joseph, as the most noble among the Princes and Saints of the heavenly Jerusalem, still you cannot properly manifest his eminent sanctity, nor can any mortal know it fully before he arrives at the vision of the Divinity. Then all will be filled with wonder and praise as the Lord will make them capable of understanding this truth".... Our Lady to Ven.Mary Agreda

So great a saint, yet so humble, that even in our world is so undervalued. Are you a celibate, here's a saint that was celibate all his life, he'll see you through. Are you in a courtship and finding it difficult with Chastity? That's your saint, one who was with Mary and didn't nurse an unchaste thought towards her, he will help you. Are you a virgin and needs God help to keep your chastity? Here is one who protected the virgin Mary's Chastity, he will come to your aid. Do you fear for a departing soul, or fear for your last moments? Here is one who died in the company and care of Jesus and Mary, he will surely intercede. Are you having work related problems or difficulties? here is a saint whose job was always tied to his name, he will guide and direct. Are you a father needing guidance and help in your duties? Here is a Man who God obeyed and was subject to.

Hail, holy Joseph, hail!
Chaste spouse of Mary, hail!
Pure as the lily flower
In Eden's peaceful vale!
Hail, holy Joseph, hail!
You were God's chosen one:
To you the Word made flesh
Was subject as a Son.

2. Hail, holy Joseph, hail!
O friend of angels, hail!
Assist the hearts that faint
And guide the steps that fail.
Hail, holy Joseph, hail!
Pricne of the house of God,
May His best graces be
By your dear hands bestowed.

3. Hail, holy Joseph, hail!
Teach us our flesh to tame.
And, Mary, keep the hearts
That honor Joseph's name;
He loved you with a love
Of holy purity:
We pray that we may be
As pure in love as he.

Good morning all, a splendid day ahead to all.

From today's reading WIS 2:1A, 12-22

"The wicked said among themselves, thinking not aright:“Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings,...For if the just one be the son of God, he will defend him and deliver him from the hand of his foes.These were their thoughts, but they erred;for their wickedness blinded them, and they knew not the hidden counsels of God;...."

Do you really understand the import of this reading? Have you indeed experienced such thoughts or even action against you? Not because of your beauty, nor due to your wealth, not because of your job, nor due to your ambitions...no, I mean have you experienced this evil inclinations against you for the sake of your faith? Aha, that's gonna be a bit difficult to pin down, why, it's because we have blended. We've compromised in one way or the other, hence we are not in enmity with the ways of the "world". How have you compromised? This could be our examination of conscience today. Yet many they are who are under fire from the world as they bear witness to their faith. Let he who has been shielded by God not doubt the wickedness of men, let he whose cross seem light at the time not despise those with seemingly heavy burdens, they commit not heavier sins who are bent under the weight of their yoke. For it is God who decides when to allow and when to ease a load on His children.

"Jesus moved about within Galilee; he did not wish to travel in Judea, because the Jews were trying to kill him... So they tried to arrest him, but no one laid a hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come." Gospel JN 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

That's why it is so foolish for the wicked to think in his heart "the just is suffering because of I made the just suffer", no, the Just is suffering at the time because the Lord allows him to. For the Lord is capable of keeping the Just from any troubles or harm. This the saints understood and prayed for serenity, they rejoiced in their suffering as long as it pleases God to see them so, they preach with their lives, they sought the happiness of others, even as their world is filled with pains, they encouraged the living even as they faced cruel deaths. For they know that if the Lord wants to wrought a miracle, he will do it. They pray, O they pray, like Jesus in Gethsemane "take away this cup", but they remember to add... yes they remember to add... "but thy will be done", and mean it. That's the difference between us, we don't believe the last is a prayer. take courage therefore beloved brethren, if you've fallen into the hands of men for His sake, pray without ceasing and trust in the Lord, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves" PS 34:17-18, 19-20, 21 AND 23.Do not be shaken, for the battle is His and not yours.

Who can battle with the Lord
Who can battle with the Lord
Who can battle with the Lord
I say no body.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.
