I wont "compel anything..there are states that have more money than Akwa Ibom eg. Lagos and River states. Without the fed allocation Akwa ibom has nothing. Meanwhile lagos and River states can boast of internally geneated revenue IGR which is more than a quarter of Akwa ibom receives from the federal govt. Add that to what they too recieve and do the maths undecided

The last 70 days of Godswill Akpabio

Ø N400 billion owed contractors

Godswill Akpabio came into office in controversy; he’s departing in scandal and shame. And for years to come, he will remain the most vilified and hated chief executive of our state. His legacy is filled with broken promises, abandoned projects, mounting cases of corruption and a huge debt burden of over N450 billion, of which N400 billion is owed contractors and civil servants. The huge unpaid obligations to the contractors explain why they have all withdrawn from project sites across the state. Julius Berger has already locked up the stadium which it built solely with its own funds with the understanding that the government would repay before the expiration of its tenure. The governor recently announced that the N80 billion he borrowed from the banks two years ago would be paid down to N35 billion by the time he exits in two months, but what of the huge unpaid contractors’ invoices and workers’ salaries and pensions? The litany of abandoned projects also signposts the massive corruption perpetrated in the course of his administration. Akpabio has not completed any of the key projects his administration started, namely: The Tropicana Complex, the new Airport terminal building, 21st Anniversary hospital project and Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road, among many others. What then did Akpabio do with the over N3 trillion (three trillion naira) the government received from all sources in the last 8 years? Gov. Adam Oshiomole of Edo State made a direct reference to this in his interview in the Vanguard newspaper of Sunday, 15th March 2015.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonji-Iweala had last year disclosed that of the N3 trillion Akpabio collected, he had spent only 10% of it on his well advertised projects. This means only N300 billion of the N3 trillion. It therefore means that N2.7 trillion had been stolen by Akpabio, his wife, brothers and other members of the gang. Recently, an online and newspaper publications revealed that Akpabio alone has estate in PortHarcourt worth N40 billion; estates in Apapa, Lagos worth N65 billion; estate and private residence in Shelter Afrique worth N87 billion. His wife owns a hotel in Ewet Housing Estate called Davok Hotel and a secondary school in Shelter Afrique both worth about N6 billion. These are just a tip of the iceberg. The Akpabio brothers and a select group of his commissioners benefitted richly in the massive corrupt empire called Akpabio government. The following are the net worth of some of them:

· Etido Inyang N17 billion

I opened this thread, not to see who the best is as we already know a couple of governors who have really done well for their states at least.....but rather to be sure that Delta's Emmanuel Uduaghan wins the "award" of the worst governor not only in the south south, but in the whole of Nigeria.. That guy's failure/non performance is unprecedented , considering the monthly allocation the state gets from the Federal government.

What I can see is that it is almost Unanimous that Delta state governor is the WORST!!
However, I believe it is simply because the Bayelsa Governor is not even know at all. He, Dick.son is curroption per excellence!

Having said that, It seems to me that those shouting Akpabio as the best are mostly puting Amaechi as the worst, that is obviously for political correctness!. There is no way Amaechi will be worst governor in the SS. Not with all the projects and several best governors award for concurrent years!. Amaechi have done well for Rivers over time. Huge stride in Roads, Health services and Education! Even on security, It was daily war on the street of PH when Amaechi came, afetr setting up the special unit C4i, the security problem was contained in the state. although we are gradualy returning to chaos in river state!.

Now if State income is not to be considered, then Best probably will go to Akpabio/Amaechi

But on the following Criteria
1. best use of available fund
2. security of life
3. Health for the populace
4. job creation
5. insrastructure
6. education

based on the above criteria best Governor will probably be in the following order:
1 Oshiomole of Edo
2 Amaechi of Rivers
3. imoke of C. Rivers
4. Akpabio of Akwa Ibom
5. Uduaghan of Delta
6. Dickson of Bayelsa

The Aker road construction is being hampered by deliberate interference of the big wigs in the host community. Saipem and other Coys were willing to construct that road. As regards the Ogbogoro road, the indigenes of the area demanded 'marching ground' from contractors so violently that the contract was cancelled. Iwofe road is under construction currently(dual-carriage) with the whimpey axis completed.

2. Uniport is a FEDERAL school bro. And their students pay over 40k in fees while RSUST students pay 17k(non-indigenes inclusive) the cheapest in the nation. You listened on radio, I am a student of the school.

3. Yorubas occupying top management positions in companies here in R-S is not the business of the governor sir! Do you want him to chase them out so you can brand him an intolerant tout?

amaechi is building world class sporting what near omagwa? white elephant project. and what about his light rail? is it operational now?

It is however worthy of note that Akpabio stands out ONLY because of the SHEER QUALITY of his projects and not necessarily because he has done so much. He isn't so wonderful when you consider the enormous revenue he receives monthly. Furthermore, his projects are mainly in urban areas and we have no idea what he has done in the villages. Finally, building roads and flyovers may just not be the only job description of a governor; what about human capital development? I don't think anybody in Aba for instance (which is the closest city) would be considering relocating to Uyo or Ikot-Ekpene ONLY because of good roads.

Yes, even inside the villages, his quality of projects is enviable. Went for a burial in one of those villages, after driving for like 2 hours from Uyo into the hinterland, I saw Julius Berger machines doing their thing.

Its thesame quality he uses inside the villages. About youth empowerment, I do not know how much he has done.

But I can assure you that I know friends who have relocated their businesses from Abia to Akwa ibom, owing to higher purchasing power in Uyo..

osho try but akpabio pass am. those schools are ube projects meaning Jonathan paid 75 percent of the cost of those schools oga so forget osho na only few roads he do

it is not about the size brother Enugu state governor Tared more km of roads and touched other areas with his lean allocation. so forget size. the only reason edo people are hailing osho is because lucky did absolutely nothing for 8years
