Martin Onovo Shines At NEDG Presidential Debate by anticent(m): 4:21pm On Mar 22, 2015
Martin Onovo the presidential aspirant for NCP is leading the presidential debate as he touches issues with so much dexterity and practicable approach. His passion reminds you of Governor Fashola during the last Lagos State Gubernatorial election held in 2011. Martin Onovo is worth knowing at this last minute.

Presidential candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the last general elections, Engr. Martin Onovo (MNSE) is one of the most brilliant professionals in Nigeria.

He is the head of movement for the Movement for Fundamental Change and many of his followers describe him as a simple, calm and calculative man. He is also one of the very few whose opinion is worth gold in the country.

Though, engineers are very conservative when it comes to fashion and are rarely counted amongst ‘fashionistas’, Onovo has an attractive style of his own. His style shows he is always in his comfort zone.

While presenting him to the party, Chairman, NCP, Dr. Yunusa Tanko said experience of the ordinary people since May 1999 when the conventional politicians took over the reign of power from the military has shown that nothing fundamental has changed.

According to him, governance has continued to be for the interest of politicians as opposed to the wellbeing of the people.

“Our people fought against military dictatorship not because they hated the military uniform but because they strove to enjoy political freedom and economic comfort, unfortunately, they have not enjoyed either”, he said.

Yinusa explained that the NCP believes that governance means being with the people, knowing their pains, abolishing their poverty and solving their problems.

“The NCP will practically demonstrate how governance should be for the people hence our slogan include NCP for the people, NCP .. the caring party, NCP.. Abolition of poverty”, he said.

According to Yinusa, the crisis of the Nigerian economy is rooted in the development strategy adopted by successive Nigerian government under the influence of powerful foreign countries and their international companies.

“We are in a country where poverty is meant to be an alien, but has been bedeviled with humanly imposed poverty. A country where averagely 70% of its citizenry are living below the standard poverty line is facing an emergency situation.

“The NCP if given the opportunity by the voters will go on an aggressive employment drive through training and retraining of our citizens making sure that our youths are employable.
He said it is a well-known fact that agriculture has not been given its rightful place considering the vast arable land we are graciously blessed by God.

This NCP candidate has an holistic understanding of the problems of this country. His responses are apt and quite intelligent. Mr clueless GEJ as usual is receiving answers to questions posed to him via his IPAD. What a shame.

Truth. Am watching it right now. He has the passion. But he is also naive.. Most times politics is more than having the passion. The balls and the will is also part of it cos there are always big players behind the scene that calls the shots in any country but the will to damn them and do what is right is what is needed in the Nigerian politics and that's where I think Good luck failed woefully

Were you the one sending the answers to his IPAD? They all did well. God bless Nigeria.

BTW

Just wondering how Buharis performance would have been.

Jonathan has greatly improved.

Listened to him speak for a few minutes and from the little time I deduced that he, Onovo is honestly intellectual, confident and precise with his points.

And why not? Thought APC wants to do it right this time around. So your party believes in fraud. No better way of showing you are a better candidate than through a debate. Buhari has been shying away from debate for reasons best known to him. And he wants Nigerians to believe in his change mantra. Please..

This is victory for democracy

Jonathan is not the winner of this debate but for me he conducted himself as a statesman today!

The willingness to subject himself to the process is remarkable

This I think is a great moment in our history on this current democratic dispensation

You better stop exposing your ignorance any further bruv . . . .

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Strategy, Dele Alake, has said that the party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, would not attend the presidential debate organised by Channels Television, Arise TV and NPAN.

Mr Alake made this declaration on Channels Television while appearing as a guest on the flagship breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily.

Now I know. Whichever platform he chooses to attend, he will not be good for a live debate. I am not against Buhari's ambition though.
Re: Martin Onovo Shines At NEDG Presidential Debate by iluvnaija: 6:42pm On Mar 22, 2015
The only way to win presidential election in Nigeria is to avoid debate.

Obasanjo did it, yaradua did it, Jonathan did it, now Buhari is doing it.

Martin Onovo is the man,the young man is smart, extremely intelligent, courageous and cocky in a positive way that makes oppressors step aside, hes the best thing Nigeria would have had if everything goes as its suppose to,but the sad part of it is that most Nigerians have eyes but can't see,im damn sure that 60% of Nigerians didn't even watch the debate, even those that watched it are blinded by the love they have for GEJ/GMB
