My girlfriend in university of belize wants me to come and stay with her in by next month, and i intend settling down with her there and will later move to bahamas for greener pastures. According to her, after my one yr of stay in belize i will apply for a belizean resident which when granted i can use to travel to any carribean country,
Pls friends, your advice is needed. Between belize and bahamas which is more suitable for settling down and hustling (under graduate and non gradute basis). And how is the living cost over there?

I have been to bahamas once on vacation we went to paradise island we had fun there. From what i saw Bahamas is major tourist destination lots of hotels and resorts and it seems like their economy depends on torisim. I think i saw one African guy working atthe hotel we stayed but who can tell due to the fact that the citizens there are mostly black folks. I dont know about husttling there but i know it's nice and the people seem very nice

Unfortunately i dont know anything about Belize besides the fact that it's a central american country that has english as it's official language though spanish and creol are spoken there. The border mexico to their north and guatemala to their south (wiki). They also do the holiday resort business but i dont know what their main economic situation is. Do a search online im sure you will find a wealth of info. About Nigerians being there, i'm sure you will find one there since they speak english but finding them might not be so easy. Belize is a better country there are quite a few Nigerian there .Belize dollars is 2 to 1 usd population is 100,000 most of them are in Los angeles. it is a beautiful country the people loves Nigerian b/cause they think their ancestor were Nigerians. being married to one

Bahamas is better even than American becos better paid job and good life over there. bahamas citizen do not need to have visa before they to got u.s so most of them like living in Bahamas . if u can have a way to Bahamas u better go. but one thing is that carribean is lovely place good life nice ladies ocean beach good food u can even get nigeria food over there i have some friends living in Barbados

I Need informations on how to apply for tourist visa to Belize country.

I was in belize in 2000 or 1999...it is a very simple country,the capital city Belmopan reminded me of a town and not a city..Water is every where and most people there as tourist visit the ancient pyramid sites or do ocean tours in the cays (cays are large stretches of ocean with islands and the water never gets deeper than a swimming pool)..Some places you can walk few kilometres out to sea without finding your chest underwater.....it is not a hustling kind of place,the big city there is like a town and even some nigerian towns are more populated...the many black people there are very much like jamaicans and talk like that...i hired a car to take me to guatemala the neighbour country,and the driver was a joyful black man that had much marijuana as is common there.....there is casino hotels there as the most likely big industry there other than fishing and farming...belize is unusually expensive compared to the neighbour central american countries,maybe because they link their economy more to the carribean and not central america where they are seated....many americans retire to live there and english is the main benefit in belize...from belize,i entered and visited guatemala and also mexico....I am currently south of belize in nicaragua and visiting between honduras,costarica,and panama......Dont expect to have to hustle in belize,and dont expect to suffer if you dont have good job making big money..life in belize is easy if you are content with simple things in life and natural surroundings...nature is so well preserved there that belize is one of the few countries with healthy jungle supporting the rare black jaguar and howler monkeys..And much more.... I travel with american passport and US dollars,so i dont have problems entering the country and visa requirements..many of the central and south american countries allow US citizens to just come without visa and they stamp passport for 3 to 6 months for a small fee...sorry no experience with having to apply visas here....this thread post gives me the idea to visit belize again,i can take the bus from here less than 24 hour trip costing about $70.00....Enjoy..

That's a really nice story you wrote above. Its really a nice place for relaxation and not to hustle. Can you help a brother by helping me in there because I think visa to belize shud be easy. A friend told me all he did was just send his passport down there and his uncle helped him get the visa done and sent the passport with a belize visaa on it. As simple as that because his uncle is an American too. Is that still possible or do one have to get documents piled up in order to get the visa? I heard they have an embassy at Garki in Abuja. Kindly advice.

It is not the place for best education or strong economy or development..it is the place for simple rural life living as if you were on a carribean island sipping coconut,rum and eating fish/seafood
...there are immigrants from India,africa from there and native people there also...

I am Bahamian, so it is maybe hard for me to be objective, but yes the economy is very good in terms of international comparisons. Like most tourist places, we were hit by the recent international recession, but right now the economy seems set for major expansion as a number of projects get underway.

Thank you so much for the time spared to comment. The British Embassy here in Nigeria, turns people down too much so long as you are not after their visa i.e UK visa. So, getting an online visa through a resident in Bahamas with resident or work permit is easier. The resident can apply for his/her friend to visit him/her at the Bahamas Consulate stated below.

I am from the Bahamas and it is a bit unfair the way we are portrayed for having cracked down recently. We are a small country, and simply cannot absorb tens of thousands of people from Haiti, Jamaica, South America and many other countries.
