I'm sorry sir, but I am simply posting raw news. This does not give you the right to call me a bigot when you don't even know anything about me. You sir are the bigot who got bent out of shape simply because you saw the word "Igbo" in the article. Why do you feel threatened by that?

Sir, the political clout of Igbos in Lagos is growing, whether you like it or not. That is the reality, deal with it.

True talk! While not being unnecessarily sentimental about issues, let us learn to appreciate one another strength and applaud it for a better Nigeria rather than creating cracks in national unity through promotion of unhealthy rivalry&things that divides.
I would rather agree the the Yorubas has displayed more maturity in being tolerance of other tribes and practise modern democracy devoid of tribalism and ethnic affiliation than just assuming the victory of the other tribes in emerging House of Rep is their being dominance in place.
When you check the campaign and the voting across the geo-political zones, you observe the same thing. GEJ had to do repeated campaigns in SW post election postponement when he was told that if he loses SW and NW landslide, he can't win. Now see the response in less than 2months, winning margin btw APC and PDP in SW is very close with PDP succeeding in clinching Ekiti despite the SW be classified APC stronghold. This is the maturity and lack of tribalism we are talking about when people face issue-based campaign rather than being dogmatically stalked to a party or candidate for any particular sentiment. If you look at the election result across most of the states in other geo-political zones, the voting pattern of landslide victory foor candidates in area of the zones with opponents having less than 20% represent elements of nascent and immature democrazy. We are not yet there but would get there someday.
Let rise as individual to the task of building our nation by applauding one another strengths and completing the areas of our weaknesses irrespective of our tribes and tongues
Bro love your maturity!

What piss most other tribes off about Igbo is their chest beating syndrome. They don't know how to be modest in doing it....

I am a Yoruba man, I didn't vote for Buhari nor for Jonathan cause I can't much different between them.

My not voting don't mean I am not interest in Nigeria, it just that I frustrate with both major party involved.

Igbo should learn to respect their hosts and stop inciting bad blood.

I have Igbo friends and some of my people are married into Igbo tribe, I don't real having anything against the whole tribe, but the some stup!d fools among them!

our people will say in igbo.... anu na ngwo maka na nkwu na abia..

relax dont worry, INEC is there, so they have their permutation, it is now abut how many votes you have but how many states you win....if BUHARI HAS ONE BILLION VOTES in 5 states and GOODLUCK has 1 million votes in 10 states, good luck wins by the virtue of Majority states not majority votes.

For you to win this election you must be acceptable in two third of the states and from the look of thing BUHARI is only acceptable in North not even in south West cos Ekiti is PDP, SOUTH EAST IS PDP, we are awaiting south south

LOL

Onegai:
If GEJ miraculously wins now or the election is declared inconclusive, the tribal genocide that will happen will make the run-up to the Biafran war seem tame. Because it's clear he's lost. GEJ cannot pull 1 million votes each in Edo, Bayelsa and Delta and get 599, 000 votes in Enugu and less than 1 mil in Abia and Anambra. That's saying those states are bigger than Enugu (which is ridiculous, I know that for a fact).

Igbos should have come out and given him almost 1mil votes from each state, then he can pad it and be getting numbers up to 1. 5mil (like Northern states did, Kano did that and it seems plausible because they have the 3rd largest city in Nigeria) and he would be in a better position. Even him miraculously winning Lagos will be met with disbelief and violence.

If you know you want to reduce the Igbo population, by all means keep encouraging this line of though. I'd advise you however to start grooming a candidiate to be ready in the next 8-10 years.

OBJ should have picked Donald Duke and PDP would have had more years on the seat. Oh well...

Its a hopeleSs case honestly, NIGERIA ll never b one, how can it be when parties fight each other, religious groups fight each other, tribes fight each other, the masses fight each other. Who's decieving who really? Even nairalanders fight each other! What a pity really. May God help us all. Its obivous those chanting for change aren't really voting cos they want change but b/c they want a particular tribe to be there... And this the future of Nigeria we are talking about. How did all these start? The hate is too much, what's the point of one Nigeria when we all know it doesn't go past our lips? What a pity.

Sadly this country is not one and would never ever be one. The stubborn Nigerianist like OBJ, David Mark dem are just deceiving themselves. I see bloodshed along the way and it would start in Lagos. Igbo bombasticness and chest beating will almost certainly trigger it like it did in the North in the 60s.

NB - Yesteday I told my caretaker to give all my tenants (90% Igbos) quit notice. He responded that he can only replace them with Igbo people and that if they leave Lagos, many Yoruba landlords will starve. Its a real quagmire.

Much as d igbos' garrulous attitude exasperates me, I still commend their united front during this election period. They decided in their own wisdom n right of choice (never mind d motives) to align behind GEJ despite all odds, n they all holding up to that objective. I'm also excited to see Nigerians integrating regardless of tribe or religion.
Looking forward to see an Hausa man as Abia state governor or senator....he'd be a much better choice than that rascal rogue TA anyway. grin
My humble submission

I want to use this opportunity to draw the attention of APC chieftains. They should not neglect the wishes of minority groups. You can ask the Republicans. These groups can form a political party and challenge the majority so that their voices can be heard. Also, you cannot fight them with arms because it is a criminal offence and jail time awaits such person(s).

APC should begin to create political positions for these groups in order to calm their nerves and ambition. They should know they are dealing with very ambitious tribes, who are creating a niche for themselves. The Presidential election have shown that they have a voice. The Governorship election might even spring a surprise just because they feel their voices need to be heard.

Respect their wishes, their decision and their voice. Do not ignore them on the premise that they are non-indigenes. You might escape 2015; but 2019 would be tougher.
A truth from a great mind. May God bless you and you unborn generation

Yorubas have been too meek.

I hope to see a change. Kudos for giving outsiders so much space and freedown in our land. But to allow them to take us over will be tantamount to reckless and careless self destruction.

We are facing a threat and that threat must be dealt with and totally annihilated. Sleeping and over-relaxed time is over!

but you can see that your submission doesnt hold water. these white coller jobs are still businesses that started small like MTN, COSCHARIS, PHARMECEUTICAL, ORANGE DRUGS, SWIFT, SMILE AND these are people businesses and they are firms today. SO AS YOU CAN SEE, IT IS THOSE THAT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO OPEN UP SMALL SCALE BUSINESSES TODAY WILL DICTATE THE PACE OF ECONOMY TOMORROW BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE FUNDS AND POWER TO FIRE AND HIRE. And above all tey have cash

So i think that the best thing for yorubas is to venture out

NO VENTURE NO SUCCESS

The war tought igbos a lesson and the igbos became good student of that war and lesson and they are applying it, justv 4 decades after the war

I am not arguing with you, I am clarifying my point. There is a difference.

You are derailing from the point. Kindly refer to my initial post to understand the discussion.

The subject matter is on the reasons of migration and not on small scale industries growing into large scale industies. I am not here to discuss whether yoruba people should venture out or not.

PEACE !!!!

Mature politics in Lagos.

Now...may we live to see the day a Yoruba man becomes governor of Enugu state....or a Hausa man becomes governor of Ondo State.

Or an Igbo man governor of Kano State.

In Mushin federal constituency 2, the APC candidate, Yemi Alli, lost to Dauda Kako-Aare of the Accord Party.

[s]Kako-Aare, who is the incumbent, lost at the APC primary last December to Alli and defected to Accord[/s]

There was NO Primary between Kako Are and Yemi Alli. Kako was dropped by Jagaban and was told to go and contest in his home state {Oyo State}. Hon. Dauda Kako has been in Politics for quite a while as i can remember during SDP/NRC days and GDM days. He is the man of the people and for the people. He defected to Accord Party and most APC supporters voted for him cos of his development to the growth of Odi-olowo constituency

Oghene Egboh is from Urhobo and I voted in Festac. Most Festac (Igbos) people didn't know him and his supporters were Yoruba (and they campaigned for him till that day). His opponent didn't get that kind of support from anyone.

I wouldn't call this Igbo clout just yet. Igbo clout just failed GEJ. Compare the massive turnout Buhari got in his base to the meagre turnout GET got in what he thought was his power base. GEJ's power lies in Delta (where for example Asaba, Uwvie and Ika boys were willing to rig for him for free ; D )
That's true my sister. I voted ogene egoh and am yoruba. That olukolu guy that contested on apc platform no dey try abeg. I even think it will bring about healthy competition and APC will have to be on their toes.
