Jonathan The Founder Of Mordern Day Democracy In Nigeria! by Plus10(op): 2:30am On Apr 01, 2015
Even if Jonathan had failed in other areas of nation building, but there is some thing that he has always been consistent with which is the ability to conduct free and fair credible elections in Nigeria.Right from when he was elected as President,he has always kept to his promise of allowing a free and fair credible elections in Nigeria. He gave room for opposition to grow,he never interfered or tempered with the electorial process even when he was pressurised by his party faithfuls to sack the election umpire Prof Attahiru Jega before the general elections in order for his party to have a smooth ride in the 2015 general elections, yet he stood on his ground that jega would stay and conduct the elections. As if that was not enough in order for him to appear as a true democrat, yet came the biggest surprise when he called the President elect Mahammedu Buhari to congratulate him on his victory at the polls even when the results had not been officially announced .Indeed he has shapen the political landscape of our dear nation where the votes of the masses now count and become the deciding factor of who lead them.Truelly he would forever ramain as one of the founding fathers of mordern day democracy in Nigeria!

We're are glad to have had you lead us this last
6yrs. You were the perfect example of a
gentleman, & a leader in the true sense of the
word, that was why you allowed the opposition to
flourish rather than suppress them. Thanks to
you, we now have a strong opposition party. It
has gone down the annals of Nigeria, that you were
able to conduct credible elections according to
international standards twice in this country,
where the will of the people prevailed, & even
when you lost, you
gallantly coincided defeat. You paid the ultimate price(your ambition) for peace to reign in our dear country. In
fact you have left such an example that we
expect the Apc to uphold in 2019, & allow the will
of the people to prevail against all odds. You also
delivered on your promise on Boko Haram. Yeah!
You had your weak points, & we all do, but I
want you to know that if the presidential
elections were to hold again, I & many more
Nigerians will still vote for you. Our votes for
you were not a waste.

Some people trying so hard to give the man a name. You should forget about bringing up his name in praise so as not to awake the anger of Nigerians. He almost destroyed the country, i have forgiven him for allowing the will of the masses prevail but please stop bringing up his name, let him go back to otuoke and have some rest while we move forward

can u imagine ? what other choice has he than to concede defeat? we haven't forgotten PDP campaign of hate and defamation which Jonathan supervised , that almost tore the nation apart. Y wouldn't he congratulate the winner, he'd only be disgracing himself like his counterpart Oruobebe. pls he's not any father to democracy. Abdussalam laid d foundation. I still hate FFK AND FAYOSE, they are bitter people who are only concerned about their interest.

The same useless man who supervised rigging in Ektiti state and even dismissed hard proof per rigging before investigation even after his own minister and officials involved confessed is the founder of democracy?

Was it democracy when he harassed, arrested and violated the oppositions fundamental rights in Ekiti?

Was it democracy when he used the military to shut down the press and confiscated news paper and stopped newspaper distribution in Nigeria?

Was it democracy when he used NBC to deny the opposition found raising access?

Do you people even know the meaning of democracy?

Abeg no dey insult us with your usual TaNoid nonsense...jare? You people neva learn anything ni?

He was an opportunist . A beneficiary of modern democracy in Nigeria who will be remembered as a failure that benefited from the Nigerian loot without working hard to get there. The same reason he failed and was booted out.

He for stay there nah. His case for worse pass gbagbo

Even in 'victory' you are still sounding bitter undecided it really sucks to be you guys (APC goons).....leave it or take it, no governments in Nigeria's political history come close to Jonathan's in the area of reliable and efficient electoral process....now that your 'General' is President-elect we are waiting for his delivery.......

You people are crazy! Jonathan that has tried all his might to upturn the election in his way and had expended all powers within his reach.

In Yoruba, people say, "if a man has ran from disgrace and yet got disgraced, his next race will be how not to die"

That is what Jonathan is doing.
