When Obasanjo became the first African Military Head of state to willingly hand over power to Civilians na so dem Praise am too o, soon the novelty of GEJ's concession will be forgotten. And as for Jonathan defeating Obasanjo? Bros where are you from? Jonathan threw Obasanjo away and pitched his tenth with Thief. Buruji Kashamu, Fayose et al, now who is laughing, the man packing back to the creeks or the Man who has been in his farm for the past 8 years?

Whether you like it or yes.... Jonathan achieved more as a president than obasanjo. It is not about how long you spend in a place, it is the impact you make. I pray the incoming president will do much better than Jonathan after two years. Seriously waiting for his ministerial list.

Keep deceiving yourself. People commend GEJ because they do not want him to cause disaster in the Nigerian polity.

I never understood what people meant whenever they said GEJ never loses a battle until I saw the outcome of the elections. The 2015 presidential election wasn't just a battle between GEJ and GMB, it was also a battle between GEJ and OBJ.
Everyone who knows Nigeria well, knows that OBJ spent his time in office, trying to create a name for himself in Africa. Eventually, he left office and became one of Africa's most respected former leaders. GEJ however had more issues on his neck while he was Nigeria's president, and I'm sure he almost had no time to think of Africa. But after losing the elections, GEJ performed an act that made him leap frog OBJ to being one of Africa's greatest. His singular act of congratulating the winner, made the whole world and all of Africa respect him. In some quarters he's been described as the father of modern democracy in Nigeria.

Even the APC which I never thought would ever use the name Jonathan and commend in the same sentence has this to say through Alhaji Lai Mohammed by that
singular act, which went a long way in dousing post-election tension, the President had snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
It also noted that Jonathan had written his name in gold in the annals of Nigeria’s history and catapulted himself to a statesman.

Also, Mo Ibrahim a man who has never said anything about OBJ had this to say about GEJ; Thank you Mr President. If you are seeking a legacy, you have definitely achieved
it.”
If GEJ eventually wins the Mo Ibrahim award for 2015, then he'd definitely be smiling all over Africa, far more than OBJ is smiling. When the UN, AU, Commonwealth, etc looks for an African democrat to use an example, they'd definitely use GEJ, while OBJ falls into the category of so many former presidents.

Lastly, as my warri friend said "who God don bless, God don bless, Jona no dey ever lose. Him lose Aso Rock, but him win Africa".

GEJ has set the standard for Democratic development not only in Nigeria but Africa in general. African Nations including South Africa are now scrambling to pattern their democratic experiment along Nigeria's standard.
A man of destiny. Reaping Victory in the Sea of Defeat is something that will never be forgotten in the annals of history. Truly, GEJ has written his name in gold. cheesy

If this is the only way gej sympathisers can console themselves its okay for them. Because a robber spared your life and now you find yourself at the church or where ever given thanks to him, it is absurd. If gej had done otherwise what guarantee he will be where he still is now? The guy did what he swore an oath to do so there is nothing special. Where is Abacha today? He too might still be living today, who knows? Jona is not a hero. All praises should go to our creator.

You think by accepting and congratulating a winner of a free and fair election, Jonathan will automatically win the Mo.Ibrahim Award? If you are canvassing an award for Jonathan, pls look else where. MoIbrahim Award is given for good leadership, governance and how economic programme affected the citizenry and enhance the country. These are lacking in the outgoing administration. And for your information, Jonathan had no choice than to accept the outcome of the elections, otherwise he faces the Gbagbo's treatment if he had acted wild. Pls also know that OBJ has been used severally by the UN, Commonwealth, AU, ECOWAS for purposes of elections and peace initiatives. Currently he heads the UN/AU Commision on South Sudan. Pls be guided accordingly.

I did not say Obasanjo performed better, just that I bought fuel for N65 in 2006 and for N110 in 2015, but as for other sectors, Jonathan performed much better than Obasanjo. Now to the subject at hand, People are talking out of ignorance. I am an Ogun man just like OBJ and if you see the way we abuse the man, you would hate him, but when I was in Ethiopia for a seminar on Abortions, the African doctors there spoke in reference to how Obasanjo willingly handed power to civilians in 1979. So wait till Jonah boy is asked to head U.N delegations to monitor elections and play important roles, like Obj before saying he has defeated him. For now, Obj is laughing at GEJ because he warned him of the company he kept in his "Before it is too late letter" and GEJ ignored him. Now his fayose, FFK and co have deserted, he strolls alone in the gardens of aso rock wondering where it all went wrong.

Cuz he conceded defeat that makes him the best....laiye, someone that knows the way out of boko haram but decided to wait until the last minute so he could use it to campaign, or someone who said he never heard about the #ekitigate saga see what he turned our military to, nothing but bunch of liars, he sent orubebe to scatter the whole election if not for God and the patience of Jega, Jonathan is never a saint and incase you dont know Abdulsalam actually told jona to make that call, jonathan that turned NTA to a station that couldnt say the truth which they know... Even when Obasanjo was seeking his third term agenda he wasn't as desperate as jonathan, nobody heard trash from the media nor nigerian army or some adverts mocking the death of Buhari's wife and daughter.. He accepted to call cuz he was so scared of being treated the same way gbagbo was treated and with the constant warning from USA, UK and other countries only a fool will disgrace himself publicly like orubebe again.

To really put a value as to the almost superhuman mental strenght of GEJ given what he did..one especially those who are ignorant of African current affairs has to look at Central african Republic,South Sudan,Yemen even the close call into civil war by Ivory Coast....All these nations could have avoided bloodshed, sufferings and widespread chaos if one leader or major stakeholder had conceeded defeat. The Janjaweedes will try to play it down some even go as far as rubbishing this his person-unfortunately for them it has gone beyond them and even Buhari-, ofcourse because it will take the shine off Buhari and put him under greater scrutiny by the electorate,as you have noticed they've gone to town denying claims or promises Buhari made to the people.

Thanks for this comment. I've come to see their praises as consolation prize. I commend what he did but that doesn't mean we should forget every thing that went wrong in his watch and eulogize him. They should go and call him a hero before a chibok parent or someone who lost someone to bokoharam na
