He should bring back our refineries – Adekunle Adebesin, civil servant

The President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, will liberate Nigerians from our sufferings. Some Nigerians believe he should probe most of the corrupt leaders, but I think he should concentrate on restructuring the system, especially the executive arm of government. He should see to the construction of refineries and resuscitate abandoned refineries.

Buhari’s military experience is a plus for the country – Stephen Adenayajo, printer

Gen. Buhari will transform the country in the next four years. His experience as a military ruler is a plus in the present situation of the country, especially in combating Boko Haram. We want a safe country where we can sleep with our two eyes closed.

Provide for the aged — Babatunde Afonboye, mechanic

The new administration should invest in our agricultural sector. Many farmers are old and suffering in many villages. I also want him to work on making provisions for the aged. President Jonathan led administration favored only the rich.

He should implement confab report – Semiu Adetayo, a civil servant

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity. He is the best man for the country at this point in time. However, the first thing expected of him is to learn from the mistakes of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The President had good intentions for the masses but was negatively influenced by the people around him. The President-elect should implement the reports from the National Confab immediately he assumes office. Also, reducing pump price will also better the economy. I believe General Buhari will take Nigeria to greater heights.

He should provide employment – Bunmi Aregbesola, businessman

The President-elect once said he was concerned about the scandalous level of unemployment of millions of young Nigerians, the poor security situation in the country, corruption and the impunity in government. All these should be his priorities when he assumes office.

He should probe the past administration – Bukky Adeeyo, an actress

He is the best man for the job. Besides, he has capable hands to work with him. I just hope he doesn’t follow the wrong steps of his predecessors. Also, he should not go after the past administrations but work on how to serve his fatherland better.

We need a new Nigeria – Johnson Oyenekan, marketing representative

Nigerians were yearning for change. Also, I learned he is one of the ex-leaders who rejected the N3million monthly offer by the Jonathan administration. We want a new Nigeria, where an average Nigerian can afford three square meal a day.

Please bring back Chibok girls – Christiana Ewah, secretary

The President-elect should look into the rise of dollars. This has affected our economy even in the global market. Many politicians also used the Chibok girls to campaign for votes. Going by his antecedent as a disciplined soldier, I believe he is the kind of leader Nigeria needs now.

He should build affordable houses – Adekunle Wasiu, petrol attendant

I want the President-elect to work on the legacy of Alhaji Lateef Jakande by building affordable houses for the masses. Many families in Nigeria sleep in a room apartment. Again, he should work on our private schools because the cost of sending our kids to private schools is alarming.

Set up a team of economists – Bukola Kajero, estate consultant

The President elect has what it takes to govern a complex country like Nigeria. Some people see him as an old man but I believe age is a number. However, he should set up a team of economists to revive our economy. He is an administrator, not an autocrat as some people perceived.

He will fulfill his promises – Mary Adufe, an actress

I am happy my dream leader won the election.
He’s the right person because he has zero tolerance for corruption. He knows the best for Nigeria. He’s a rare leader in this era and I believe he will fulfill all his promises.

Probe every corrupt leader – Ogun Fagade, businessman

He should concentrate on building more prisons, ensure maximum security in our prisons and probe every corrupt leader in the country.

Transparency and credibility should be his watchword – Barry Imafidon

Going through Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s biography and pedigree during his military regime, he appears to be an honest man . I expect him to fight corruption to the barest minimum Transparency and creditability should be his watchword . He is an aged man and I feel he’s going to be slow in decision making. I also have a strong belief that he his going to work without Godfathers as presumed by some people.

Any performance less than delivering 50% of his campaign promise will be termed "failure and cluelessness".

We are watching him and I hope he's mentally fit for bashing and name calling?

It's easier said than done. Yes because they promised heaven on earth and hopefully, they do what they promised instead of all talk and no action. We also hope his performances will be felt by all Nigerians and not only on paper as GEJ's performances were always termed "paper achievements".

We are watching you general. Brace yourself.

1-Stabilize world oil price like he said.

2-Get rid of the corrupt politicians that surround him (remember the saying "show me your friends and I will tell you who you are"
)

3-Use those with unquestionable character as members of his cabinet.

4-Fulfill all those things listed in the manifesto of APC.

5- Make a public statement that Abacha stole.

1 The General never said he is going to do that.
2 We will stabilise the oil market. That was what he said.
3 It is very possible to fight corruption. He is going to do it, I am sure of that.

people shouldn't start disturbing buhari with all the problems affecting Nigeria. He is not a magician. People should understand that the general needs a lot of time before he starts putting things in order.

The kinda damage ex-president jonathan did to Nigeria can't be fixed in two years.

In addition, there are two things I'd really love to see him do immediately:

1. Trim down the presidential air fleet to just two aircraft.

2. Scrap government sponsorship of pilgrimages. Anyone who wants to go to any "holy land" should do so from their own pockets.

He should provide "common sense"to some gullible GEJ supporters...grin grin

He should fight corruption like there is no tomorrow...

He should make sure that they tackle the issue of epileptic power supply

He should make sure that they provide security

He should make sure that the nigeria economy is having positive effect on the masses e.g affect the price of garri in the market..grin

He should make sure that he fulfilled his promise concerning the resurrection of the steel industry e.g re-building the ajaokuta steel

■ The first test of leadership is integrity. Therefore, one good way to assist NEW LEADERS would be to joggle their memories over the VOWS they made with their constituents. Here is Buhari in his OWN WORDS.
■SECURITY: End the insurgency within months. Crush BOKO HARAM in the FIRST ONE WEEK of his administration.
■ECONOMY: Tackle poverty by closing the wealth gap through shared economic growth.
■ CORRUPTION: Key priorities is to wipe out corruption – with immediate effect.
■ EMPLOYMENT: Payment of N5000.00 to 25 million jobless Nigerians each month.
>>All graduates will be paid comfortable allowances after NYSC, until they are employed.
■ PETROLEUM: Stabilize global oil prices at $100 a barrel.
>>Reduced fuel price to N45 a litre in the FIRST ONE YEAR.
>>One brand new refinery every year; 4 refineries in the first 4 years.
>>No more importation of Petroleum products, in the first one year, as all refineries will be working at 100% full capacity.
INFRASTRUCTURE: Complete stalled road projects and improve infrastructural development nationwide, especially in the north-east.
■ EDUCATION: Free education for all Nigerians.
