Whatever they use must be a small recorder hidden somewhere on the machine that would take a recording of your card when you are putting it in and also your key strokes on the pin pad.

Easy solution:
Cover the face of your card with one hand till it is fully inside the atm card slot and also the same when pulling it out.

Cover your fingers and entire pin pad with your other hand when typing.

Tips to avoiding this scam;

1. Feel the card slot before slotting in your card, if there is any attached part, foreign to the machine build, DO NOT insert

2. Feel the key pad, if it seems layered on with an external key pad, DO NOT use.

There is no magic to these frauds, these people just attach external PIN readers to the machines and pick them up later.

when using the ATMs maintain this tips.

Do not accept help from other users on the ATM.
Ask the next person behind you to keep a safe distance while u carry out your transactions.
Use your body to shield your hands from view of customers behind.
Look around you and by the front and sides of ATM's for unusual attachments and devices.
Do not carry out transactions in unlit ATM locations.
Have your cards ready before you get to the ATM machine so you do not spend a long time on the machines.
Use familiar ATMs for your transactions when possible.
If your cards get trapped at an ATM, immediately report to the Bank Branch.
Do not ever give out your PIN and dont write it down.

Also make sure your PIN is not your birthday or car number or any other familiar dates.

u go put ur card, and type ur details, d atm will tell u transaction failed, but d truth is dat d foreign device has captured ur card details and pin, wen u wake up the next day u go just see alert
