This guy just made sense!...i dnt suport pdp or apc, i suport performanc and datz wat hav seen in rochas.. Wit apc at d fed level, i tink it wl b a plus 4 imo..... Mind u , am nt affiliated to any party...no time
Raiders:
don't compare Jimi Agbaje and Owelle. Rochas is the best Igbo governor in the last 4 yrs and his only sin to people like you is because he is in APC. Owelle performed better than Ochendo, Gov Elechi of Ebonyi State and Gov Chime in the last 4 yrs. I think he deserve a 2nd term based on performance irrespective of his party besides that what did Inhedioha achieved as deputy speaker for Imo state? I think Rochas is going to win based on performance.

Education can be free or not free
Awolowo gave\facilitated free education and it was qualitative, people did not abuse the privilege of free education. they were taught well and learnt well.
Donor agencies, government give scholarships and enable people go to school free, this doesn't make the learning or teaching sub-standard

Go to many private universities and even secondary schools were they pay alot of money, many of the students toy with it and are generally unserious having poor grades.
Many people have paid normal fees in schools and have gone out into the society unable to write or speak properly.

Therefore, whether school is free or not does not determine its value. Who would value education will value it.

It is often said that some of the best things of life are free such as air, life, true love, family and friends, good jobs, water, sunlight, rain, quietness, peace, ability to sleep naturally, and so on.

In as much as i have never personally evaluated the educational standard in Imo State, if the man is giving free education, all well and good. This is what many politicians say in their manifestos and fail to deliver upon victory. Prayer is that it would last and be sustainable.

Whatever went wrong with the free education in the Western part of Nigeria. Also many states in the North also provide free tuition, feeding, uniforms and books to primary and secondary school students; and some give stipends to their polytechnic and Colleges of whatever (education or agriculture) students.

Nigeria go better, Africa go better, my people go better oh, Nigeria go better.

God bless

Good. So next time we support Agbaje and Ihedioha, don't bring your hypocrisy into our matter.

No, the guy didn't make sense. A bad governor, is a bad governor, whether the central government aligns with his party or not. Thief. A. Orji's party, PDP, aligned with central government, yet he's the worst evil to have happened to mankind. Leave party at the center out of this.

How can he be seriously celebrating his substandard free education.Since he started this education charade the quality of education has fallen with rise in accpectance.l am of the school of thought that education should be paid. When one hussles to pay his fees he will know the value of it but if given free he toys with.No one knows the value of free things.

Tomorrow he will face the Judgement of th good people of imo if they find him guity he will be kicked if not he will contuine

I'm not arguing what you wrote up there. My line of argument is that party at the central can't make a bad governor a good one. That's all.

li live in Imo state. And i will tell you this: Rochas is perfect at deception. He makes people believe he is doing well, while in reality he is putting the state in a nose-dive. No sector is working in the state. None!! Go to I.T.C., Health, even quality education. I am sure peeps will come to prove i am wrong. The truth is, owerri is dirtier, our roads worse off, our lands taken from us forcefully. I pity Imo State if he wins this election.

The Igbo messiah that will rescue them from political wilderness. I so much like this man, especially his love for education...

I know of more than 15 Yoruba kids he gave scholarship in Ibadan... Once a year he personally comes around to check on them.. To be sure that they are doing well.

That's the mistake I was trying to correct you on, that it's not a must APC must win Lagos to align with the center. That argument is bullshít. Let the right person win, irrespective of the party at the central.

Re: Governor Okorocha Dressed As A Secondary School Student by jantavanta(m): 1:07pm On Apr 10, 2015
Secondary School is the building block of a student. That is when personality is formed. In Nigeria, we pay minimal attention to sec. school students and overemphasise tertiary education.

How many sec. school students have been given roles in our films? You find full grown adults doing the acting.

Some things that are missed in sec. school are never taught at the tertiary level, because tertiary education is not exactly a continuation of sec. schooling.

Your sec. school marks you for the rest of your life, irrespective of whether you go to Harvard or BUK.

I cannot say about the standard in Imo, but it is good for the students to be recognised.

Hidentity:
Without prejudice to Governor Okorocha, a picture like this reminds me of the difference between what people see you as and what you are deep inside. I wish that Nigerian politicians could actually come to the level of the common men even when these people are not there to speak for their interest.

The truth is that the friendship between our leaders and those of us being led is almost always temporal- election time. Now, the strange thing is that as commoners, we tend to forget so fast how we cannot even slow down in the front of the government house, how the bags of rice they share only come once in 4 years, how they would pose with a petty trader to show their humble disposition only during election period. After that, the hustle, tussle and struggle begin afresh... Many hidden prospects under tattered shirts.

It is high time we asked the questions that are of the essence to our lives. When I think about the polity, the first set of people that comes to my mind is those in my constituency- the Nigerian youths. I read about how someone became a Nigerian minister before the age of 25 yesterday. Today, what do we have? A mere lip appraisal of the importance of youths in nation building.

Think about this- they would rather approach our old parents in the markets to campaign than approach universities to address us. Yet, the policies would affect us the most. Strange enough, the same youths they ignore would troop out to cast their votes for them, unleash mayhem in their support and attack others for their sake.

Truth be told, I have observed that there is a shift in the efficiency and effectiveness of our ideas and intelligence as youths. The polity has altered our reasoning skills that we no longer pay attention to the things that matter. We are busy with more important this like the match between Manchester United and Arsenal, the bet on Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. While following Amber Rose on twitter, we did not know when our welfare was 'unfollowed' by our leaders. We are busy with the latest music videos and the trending nude picture of another person. We are not interested in the matches that affect our lives the most- the match of the polity and how it is managed. From the leaders of tomorrow, we are negligently and dangerously becoming the former leaders of tomorrow. Now I ask, can a bad society birth good individuals?

Check online outfits like this, comments and topics that attract people the most are almost always worthless and of no value. Unemployment, poverty, insecurity, illiteracy and other anomalies hit our constituency the most, yet we won't just GROW up. What will be will be, but if that is to be, it is up to YOU.
well said and I concur to everything you said but something has to be done and what ever it is can start from here(nairaland). now how do you think the youths can actually be the leaders of tomorrow when there has not been a strong platform bringing the youths together? I suggest and propose as dangerous as it may sound, but I dare say it that the youths take over the federal government come 2019. It has never happened anywhere in the world but I know that it can be a great success in Nigeria if we start from nairaland and start it now, we have 4 years to put together whatever it would take us, I'm not a politician nor a good writer but with the combined efforts of of the youths of this country the project would be a huge success, who ever is in support should click share for this message to circulate.
