. Imagine loads of b*llshit.. I am not one to insult or disrespect another, but calling me, my brothers and my family refugees? These are bunch of f**ls. All they have succeeded in doing is spilling rubbish. Instead of condeming how their leader issued a needless threat to the Ibos or saying it was misinterpreted, all they have done is elevating their level of Racism. Mtchew. Point of correction. We Ibos are adventurers. It is not only in Yoruba land that we reside, We are all over the world. Yorubas reside in our lands too though it might not be with same density as we do in Yours but we for once haven't called anyone refugees. With due respect. Watch Your mouth!!!

How did the Igbo's abuse the Oba?

Well said. If a visitor is becoming too arrogant to the person that accommodate him, definitely he will be shown his way back to where he's coming from. I don't know how a visitor will be claming too know of another's property. The best thing is to throw them out of Lagos let them go back to their land and develop their place. At the same time I can't blame them is useless PDP that want power by all means I will blame. They are the one giving them too much popularity and they will later regret it.Is it possible for any other tribe to do all this nonsense in their state?Bunch of ingrate.Lagos give you opportunity to be part of their government by appointing you commissioners, hon and other benefits but you can't think to appreciate rather to be ungrateful.Like I used to tell your ibo fellows that yorubas don't like problem but if you put us to the wall you will see hell more than what Oba Akiolu said.In term of everything in the country and around the world we senior you.Education, population, money, international connection etc we are not your mate.If it leads to war honestly speaking you will go down in history.just a little word for you!
Shut the hell Up! You must be a slowpoke for saying the Yorubas accomodate the igbos, how if I. May ask? How? Aren't they Nigerians? Aren't they are liberty to move to any part of the country on legal grounds as supported by the constitution of Nigeria? Are the Yorubas feeding and paying their bills while they reside in Lagos? NOBODY has the right to claim ownership of any part of this country or has the power to restrict the movement of NIGERIANS to any part of this country. Why all this NOISE about the Yorubas owning Lagos and regarding non-Yorubas as "Immigraants"......You all should go and take a dive into the Lagoon! SHIT!!!

I am a Nigerian, proudly Igbo, I have property in Lagos...and my family lives here! No idiot has any right to intimidate or threaten my stay except you clowns are calling for Tribal War! And lemme make this categorically clear that we igbos, are not afraid of WAR!

Why the hate, the bitterness, the envy, the jealousy against us? Why? That was how Fashola bundled some igbos and 'deported' dem claiming that they were criminals. What happened to the police and the court? The outburst of tha hate speech by the dishonourable Oba was just a saturated build up of bitterness over the years. You guys are just jealous and pained that we are industrous and you guys are feeling insecured @the pace @which the igbos are prospering in Lagos, hence the hatred....BUT that is not their fault! You can't take that away from them, GOD made them that way....

The Yorubas should be careful on how they are taking this matter, they should remember that for over 60years, both tribes have never had any cause for misunderstanding, as they have been living in peace over the years. The Oba should cautioned and warned on how he conducts himself publicly, this is democracy, everyone has the right to vote for whoever he wants to vote for.

God bless Ndi-Yoruba
God bless Ndi-Hausa
God bless Ndi-Igbo
WA-ZO-BIA...........that bound is too strong to be broken by a hate speech coming from one Oba of Lagos!

Take tribalism away from this matter, igbo are not as accommodating as yoruba and hausa. I am a youruba , I was in igbo land for about 3 years in the eatly 90s and they hardly sell their land to other tribes.
We know that igbos are jew in Nigeria, there is community in Kano called No MAN's LAND ; igbo dominated and igbo cancellors but when they aspired for Chairmanship post the Hausa told them story.
Yoruba's hand of friendship is taking for granted, don't ever think that we are caword for not do to you what Hausa/fulani did to you in Kano.
Federal seat has moved to Abuja go there and claim what you want to or go back home and stop building other people tent. We love to stay in Lagos if you will respect our culture and traditions.
God bless you ore, the road their father use to come to Lagos is still open, if they r not happy they should go back home. Now I see why Hausa people always kill them any single riot. ISE ILE NI BANI RODE !

They said Lagos is for Lagosians........
But Niger Delta crude oil is for EVERYBODY.

Many areas in Lagos existing now, is because igbos bought sand, refilled the swamps and started living there.
The Yoruba landlords who sold those lands have finished spending the money, and have suddenly remembered that Igbos are strangers and should leave.
BuT, know what ?
We aren't leaving. Deal with it.

3rd mainland bridge, eko bridge, carter bridgre, national theatre, all those landmarks were built in the 50's and 60's with crude oil from SS, and palm oil from SE.
shebi thats why the s.s get a special derivation fund...oh and we have a earful of that...but that's not the issue now is it. The issue is y'all feel disrespected....you think PDP yoruba think any better of ibos than APC...think again... Put Agbaje, but it isn't the answer you want, nor the respect you crave

u gave a wrong example, Onitsha pple migrated from benin and settled in their present site. The original inhabitants of the present onitsha are from idemmili/obosi. Therefore, onitsha is clearly Igboland. But lagos is inhabited by the awori ethnic group, the yorubas due to close proximity migrated to lagos, the aworis accomodated them and they(yorubas) started claiming ownership. So lagos is NOT yoruba land.
so the Aworis are Igbo?

Reading.

I don't understand what respect one gives for not voting a lagosian. Is JK not a lagosian? Is democratic process of voting ones choice now a disrespect to a traditional throne in a federal nation? The igbos dont own lagos, I agree, but they still constitute a huge percentage of its population, and has the constitutional rights to vote and be voted for, in other for their interests to be favoured through good policies.
I dnt think what you have posited is the meat of the article.

The article just tried to address the gross disrespect few igbo leaders have shown the Oba of Lagos after his unfortunate statement.

This whole brouhaha is like a case of a drunkard who is owing so much at a bar close to his house. The man's children have promised to pay at the end of the month but for days on end after the bar owner has agreed to be paid by months end, the bar owner kept embarrassing and harrasing their father.

This will get to a point where the man's children will get angry and decide and tell the bar owner to do her worse.

This is what is happening now!

Yes; the comment was unfortunate but like u said, is the oba going to be breathing down your neck in the polling booth? Going on and on about this by the igbo community and makin the whole thing complex with every passing does no one any good.

I remembr some yoruba fella said that it is only a bastard that will vote for PDP; were there yoruba who still voted PDP and will still vote today? Of course there are/will!

The president wife took a swipe at the North as "born throway" people...was there this much noise generated? No, but their PVC made the Noise!

If the igbo community feel "they are owed so much by that drunkard, instead of embarrasing the drunkard, isnt it better they wait for the end of the month?". Today is the end of the month.

In my opinion, whoevr wins between Agbaje n Ambode, the damage has been done olredy n fence mending should begin in earnest immediately to save what is remaining!

Stop acting like this change your mind, majority of Igbos will vote for PDP all along(With or without Oba speech). You did that during the presidential election and APC still win the state. Do that again and it wouldn't make any difference. In fact PDP got that much votes from Lagos because of the yorubas indigenes. Things would be different now since PDP have made the mistake of turning this into a Yoruba Vs Igbo thing.
the apc won because of tinubu's massive rigging pdp won squarely n u know it .dats Why ur oba n the apc are so afraid of this elections. cos they know wot dey did n also know there will be no room for rigging this time around.

The crude oil gotten from the lands and waters of ND including some parts of Igboland are known as 'national cake' not igbo or ND cake....A comsopolitan city like Lagos shouldn't have any qualms referred to as No man's land or a Former Federal capital never yoruba land,if the yorubas want their land back then it is best they agitate an Odua Republic and cut themselves off our 'national cake' or best spark an ethnic fight and get crushed....

In Yoruba land obas don't apologise. He will rather drink poison than apologise (I'm not speaking literarily). People asking the oba to apologize are living a pipe dream. And to all you people calling the Oba a fool, in Yoruba culture we RESPECT Obas regardless of what they may have said or done. You igbos want to govern us, become deputy governor of Lagos your 'no man's land' yet you still do not have basic grasps of the culture and traditions of the indigenes. That clearly shows us it's not time for that yet.
