[quote author=Alisha4U post=32643735][b]The only Bigots I see in this whole matter are the Yorubas! Your Oba threatened, swearing to his Allah that he would throw the Igbos into the lagoon if they should vote for Agbaja and instead of unequivocally condemning him, you are condemning the Igbos for blowing it out of proportion! Is there a proportion for the threat of genocide by a ruler with millions of followers who would be ready to do his biddings? I've never heard any Yoruba person (Beside some political statements) condemn this great threat unequivocally! Instead, you Yorubas are all united against the Igbos on this singular account of your Oba's rascally statement, nothing more. Your are united against the threatened Igbos for crying out loud, on the account that they are crying too loud or 'blowing the whole thing out of proportion'! What a shame! Even your educated elites are infested with this bigotry. Observing from the side, not being neither Yoruba nor Igbo, I fear for the nest generation. Being particularly a minority from the centre of Nigeria, I feel helpless and I fear for my progenies in this country of madman. I weep. What a shame! Abeg wu is Agbaja? |

Ok imagine what they are using to taunt Igbos, if an igboman do now they will say they are blowing things out of proportion. King of Zulu asked foreigners to leave SA before you know it xenophobic protest started sweeping across SA and people started lynching others. The similar thing happened during the Rwandan Genocide, it all started with Radio broadcast by a presenter. Now Oba threatened Genocide and yolobas are expecting Igbos to shout Kabyesi on painment, they are expecting them to prostrate when their lives are in danger. The reason why it was blown was to institutions like ICJ and NHRC to be aware of when anything dangerous started happening. The oba have boxed himself in a very tight corner so any strand of Igbo hair that is missing in Lagos will hold him responsible. My yolobaa friends in FB also use this image and the bus, another one used a lifejacket with an Igboman on it say that the life jacket is fake that igbos must be drown in Lagoon with or without it. I didn't even bother to reply them neither do I block or unfriend anybod, we are still paddy because our friendships predates Nigeria politics and we are mutually beneficial to one another. handsomenairala:Is not even enough, what about another write up asking every yoruba with Igbo friends (male & female ) to delete their friendship from them, so that there will be total separation between the two tribes. Igbos are as serious as heart attack and you yorubas don't get it. Just you and your friend is just not enough. In the past, Igbos sacrificed millions in achieving the above objective and will attempt again at the right time. Now you must accept that you and your friend are from a world apart, and that's why you did the needful. Hope to see it done wholesale. |

Hmmm Igbo and tribalism so bad for them. My ex gf is an Igbo I love her so much I help her a lot cos we were in thesame University OAU IFE we dated for almost five years and after our NYSC we plan to go and visit her parents in Abia state whwn we got there the parent welcome me and treat me very well later the begin to ask me questions on where I come from and immediately they know I'm from Yoruba both my parents are pure yoruba. Everything changed it was as if they were not the one I saw when I arrived they said it to my face that I can never marry their daughter on the ground that I'm not an Igbo I was surprise every thing we try to persuade them to realize we love each other was in futile the lady later told me she cannot go against her parents that was how we separated now I am married with a beautiful yoruba lady and up till now this lady is still with her parents seven years after we departed. Igbbs why are u like these ? |

seankafor:can you imagine the world most bigoted tribe on earth. Yorubas, because of their bigoted and hateful nature already engaged in one genocide against the Igbos. To the contrary Igbos have never in their history engage in bigotry or hate to have invested in genocide, but eternally fighting to extricate themselves from this demonize hatred against their race. |

djon78:the only reason some of us are up there is just cos of the seaport in Lagos, if we can dredge the seaport in Onitsha or ibaka seaport in akwaibom then Lagos would be a forgotten story. Ibos will come back and business will even be cheaper. |

ElekeNtioba:And so you equates killing of jews to deaths of ibos and think you make any poo of a point. Did the jews start the war that resulted in their genocide? Weren't the jews caught up within the borders of germany that made their killings possibe? In ibo case, the ibo army officers killed the nigerian leaders and ibo people in the north used that as opportunity to taunt them which resulted in the pogroms. Biafra was a sovereign state on its own with its own borders that started attacking Nigerian territories of which the backlash caused the death of millions of biafrans. You people never learn. |

Marriage in Igboland is a very serious business, its not something spontaneous two lovebirds that met inside BRT and started singing love on FB and Instagram. Don't blame them, you guys don't know how to marry women, your too promiscuous and always think the woman must overlabour herself to feed the man. I wouldn't even let my daughter do that anyway, its not their fault they are very caring parents who are trying to protect their children from "had I know" ojuoluwani: |

It is time to protect Yoruba heritage, Lagos from the Igbos. We need strong legislations to protect our land. These people want to take our land. We cannot allow a repeat of Ilorin in the modern days. Jimi is a modern Afonja. |

ECOTERRORS:I ll blame this platform - Nairaland for that "word" 'wretched" and bringing someone like you to have a chat with someone you wish to become in the future. Perhaps, just to give u a clue, I need to mention the name of d Roman catholic school i was talking about so as to show you that my school fees for 2yrs would feed your failures-accumulating family. I can feed you and your entire poverty stricken family for as long as God ask me to. I can assure you that if you see me one on one................. I ll stop here cos God rebukes a man with pride. The free health care, free primary school education, the fool was born and bred in South west............. I can now see why his life turn out like that. It's a curse to abuse the land that feeds you. If you see the speed at which I deleted and blocked the fool |

OP, he says least who knows most. You didn't need to write on his timeline. I believe the best way to relate is to understand people for who they are and respect that. Not because you are weak but because you are wiser(you understand individual differences and each individual's right to be). An average Igbo man acts like though he has the best culture and can be really arrogant when you look at him from the point of view of an average yoruba man. But why not see and accept him as he is? An average yoruba man on the other hand pretends to be liberal, respectful and humble but, he can be really far from his actions. It is very difficult to trust a yoruba man but then know them for who they are and appreciate them for that. Play your cards well before them. The Hausa man does not believe he shouldn't rule over you; he doesn't value his own life talk less of yours.. That again should be recognised and appreciated. When we are armed with this knowledge, we should harness it and move forward as a country. When we need to relate with the hypocritical nations, particularly the West, the Yoruba people come in handy. When we need to exact a bit of force anywhere, the Igbos can be of great value; when national interest is to be protected at all cost, like the case of the Bakassi peninsula, the Hausas would be good for the job. The Hausas would not have released that land for any reason. Other ethnic groups fall in between these distinct groups. It's time to begin to see the seeming limitations of each ethnic group as a strength in disguise. |

demmie1:Your twisted account of history is d reason u pple always make baseless arguments. 1. If u had any indepth knowledge abt d holocaust and anti-semitism u'll undertand wat l'm saying. I dont have the time to start teaching u abt it. Just know the holocaust had more to do with a long history of hate than world war two. 2. Igbos never taunted any anybody. Ask anyone who lived thru dat period and they will tell u dat Igbos were the only fully integrated tribe in Nigeria. That propaganda was made up by elements in the north who wanted revenge for the killing of their revered figures. They used it to whip up sentiments among northerners. This is exactly why some Igbos were bitter abt oba's threats. Such statements from pple like him can set off a conflagration nobody can douse. 3. Biafra never declared war on anybody. Rather after her declaration of independence, Nigeria attacked. The Biafran expedition to capture Lagos came at the behest of a yoruba officer, Victor Banjo. Banjo wanted to force his pple to join the secession and bring a speedy end to the war. Before then, Ojukwu never for a day considered adding yorubaland to Biafra. Biafran was conceived to safeguard pple of the then Eastern region and not become a rabid dog of a state. I can only u point in d right direction. Its left for you to make use of ur brain. |

Etfash:Prior to that above posts, I personally sent my first message to his inbox to warn him from disrespecting and promoting lies against my people and of course my highly placed King (Oba Akiolu) and i moved on. I didn't say anything bad to him in my first response until I saw all sorts of rubbish on his Timeline against Yoruba today. The fool got upset today cos I did the same thing to him but on his Timeline. |

So sad ,but between the yoruba village head who made that divisive and provocative statement and the ever enterprising igbos, who is a bigot? learnt the oba is a retired police officer. if at his level he could say that, it really goes to show how tribalistic an average yoruba could be . still believe that the oba was high on something . |
