Alamieyeseigha And Other Lead APC In 2016 Gubernatorial Election In Bayelsa Stat by Naijaepic: 11:56am On Apr 14, 2015
There are strong indications that a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, is seeking to govern Bayelsa State again.

It was learnt on Monday that this time around, Alamieyeseigha, who in his first tenure, was called ‘Governor General of Niger Delta,’ wishes to actualise his ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

It was also learnt that a former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Timi Alaibe, is interested in the governorship ticket of the APC for the 2016 governorship election in the state as well.

Others said to be eyeing the party’s tickets were a leader of the APC and a former Governor of the state, Chief Timipre Sylva; a former Commissioner for Health, Chief Frank Akpoebi; a Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Godknow Igali, and APC state Chairman, Mr. Tiwe Oruminighe.

It was further learned that Mr. Preye Aganaba, who recently lost his senatorial ambition, was being propelled by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, to go for the party’s governorship ticket.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Alameseigha, the first elected civilian governor of the state, was seriously staging a comeback to the Creek Haven, Bayelsa Government House, on APC platform.

The source claimed the former governor and Igali were plotting to wrest power from the incumbent Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson.

Alamieyeseigha became the first civilian governor of the state in 1999 and was re-elected for a second term in 2003.

He was later enmeshed in serious allegations of corruption and money laundering, leading to his impeachment by the state House of Assembly.

The former governor was subsequently prosecuted and convicted.

But he was pardoned by President Goodluck Jonathan, who described him as his political benefactor.

The source said, “Alamieseigha is eyeing the governorship seat. His plan is to make a grand return to the seat of power in 2016. To this end, he has been holding a series of meetings with some APC stalwarts.

“He is assuring the APC leadership that with him as governor, the militants will feel comfortable. He is saying that the incumbent governor is not liked by ex-militants, citing the clash between the governor and ex-militants over pipeline contracts,” he said.

It will not be okay if Alams contest the Gov election for Bayelsa under the APC in order not to make APC look like a replical of PDP.
he can join but must not be allow to pick the gov ticket of the APC.

Apc is not for SE.
Any governor in this zone that defects to APC, automatically loses his seat in the next election.
Rochas is struggling to win when he should have beaten PDP hands down, if he had stayed in APGA.

If Alamiesigha joins APC and wins the governor elections, he's likely to defect back to PDP within a year or two.
As for SE governors, once you decamp to APC, your ass is fried.

Apga was reduced to nothing ever since Rochas switched camp.
He was the head of the party in that state and he left, leaving them weak.
Imo state APGA has little or no power compared to Anambra.
If Obiano decides to switch to APC now, then he should find himself a new job cos APGA will field a better candidate and Obiano will lose.

Leave IMO and Anambra. What about Abia? Where its patently obvious the people desire Otti and a break from T.A Orji's political dynasty?

Why can't PDP respect the people and the help APGA has rendered over the years and let them have it? Or is Rochas also to blame?

If the last election was cancelled and it's scheduled to hold again, SE will still vote against APC, just like APC voted against PDP in Lagos.

T.A Orji knows he's wasting his time.
Even if he succeeds in rigging his godson in, the courts will throw him out in election tribunal.
He's just grasping at straws, he knows the end is near.

Alamesiegha should not "fall his hand" o. Bayelsans love him but can't bring him back to power irrespective of the platform. However, the report is so fake because Alams was re-elected in 2003. cheesy

As for Sylva, Alaibe and co...hahahhaahaha

Sylva is the worst Governor to govern Bayelsa. Alaibe was a Director or NDDC and later MD yet there is no meaningful project in Bayelsa. Though Dickson to sit-up and be more managerial so as not to lose out in PDP. Whoever get the PdP ticket will get elected as long as Bayelsa/Niger Delta is concerned. The only alternative is LP but unfortunately they aren't so strong in BY.

That is because gej will no longer be president. If he won the election, we won't even even be talking of a possibility of the courts up turning any election won by the SE coordinator of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan campaign organisation or his boy.

PDP is just there to use APGA and Okorocha saw it. He made his decision, let's respect that like I now respect fayose as a dogged and rugged fighter.

the voting pattern in the se and sw are very different, the se votes are just out of anger and hatred which will cool down very soon when reality dawns, the votes in the sw were more liberal and even the whole world knows that hence the appeal to the Buhari and his team to address the issues in the se and ss by integrating them properly into their Government.

The apc guys are very smart, by the time they start executing federal projects in the se, people will change their minds and realized that they were only being deceived by some very selfish politicians who only wanted to perpetuate themselves in office or do you thing the apc led fed govt will toe the line of pdp? think again

what the average nigerian need is good governance, our politicians are the ones dividing us along regional lines

Very funny.
The SW are voting smartly and SE are voting out of anger and hatred?
Yeye dey smell here.
They chose Ambode over Agbaje and you call that voting smartly?
They got angry because Igbos supported agbaje, their own son and you call that voting smartly?
They kept saying he was in the wrong party just like we said to Ngige.
I don't see the difference between the voting pattern of the SW and SE.

my guy read my words carefully o, I said the voting pattern in the sw was more liberal, did i use the word smart? liberal means, more accommodating, meaning Jonathan got more votes in the sw than buhari got in the ss and se which is there for all to see, even in the governorship elections, the pdp candidates in the sw except oyo did well by pulling lots of votes which shows that the yorubas did not put all their eggs in one basket which people are blaming the se for doing, there are pdp senators elect in the sw but is there any apc senator elect in the se?

so who is smarter and real now, if Jonathan had won this election, he would have appreciated the sw very much because they tried for him very much and the sw would have been prominent in his govt, i heard from a reliable source that jona was ready to compensate the sw very much if he had won the election.

As for ambode and agbaje, the whole world knew how close it was, but if abia people don't want pdp so why should lagos want them too.

My brother all i want is a better Nigeria for me and you. Cheers
