NASARAWA State governor and governor-elect, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, on Tuesday, said the Yoruba race was behind the success recorded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the just-concluded general election in the country.

The governor, who made this assertion at the Presidential Lodge in Lafia, the state capital, while receiving Yoruba community in the state, led by its president, Afeez Adigun, stressed that the role played by the tribe during the merger process of all opposition parties could not be quantified in terms of naira and kobo.

He stressed further that apart from monumental achievements of APC-led governments in various states, which resorted to the success of the party during the elections, Nigerians were truly yearning for change, due to competence and trust they have in the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Al-Makura, who said he would forever remain grateful to Yoruba race, especially the role it played during his re-election, said despite that the people were not from the state, they appreciated projects executed by his administration in the past three and a half years.

Earlier, the leader of the group, who is also the special assistant to the governor, Adigun, said Al-Makura’s enthusiasm for the developmental stride in the state prompted the community to give him and other APC candidates unalloyed supports during the elections.

The aim of the Yoruba is to integrate all ethnical components of Nigeria into one fold.

Its going to take time but it will happen one day.

The best option is General BUHARI being the president elect. This will foster bright future for Nigeria.

President goodluck Jonathan would have been the best performed president Nigeria ever produced, but the role of his wife, patience Jonathan, Allison maduekwe played in his government caused the ruins.

As at December 2014, I was ardent supporter of GEJ. But late last year I changed because Nigeria need change seriously.

abeg go and sit down joor!!! how come you couldn't install your god Awolowo with your almighty installation powers.The only Yoruba president ever Obasanjo was even installed by the North.GEJ won in 2011 and got only about 2m votes from the sw and over 11m votes from the SS/SE yet you peole claimed you installed him.Even in the last election,the margin of GMb's victory over GEJ was just about 500,000 far less than the margin from jigawa state alone.Make we hear sth abeg

So where is Nigeria as of today? It look like most people dont really understand or know the real problem of Nigeria. For ur info the problem of Nigeria will never ever be solve by one tribe, but a combination all the various tribes that make up Nigeria. Talking and agreement is involved.

.....Goodluck Jonathan attributed his sucess at the 2011 elections to Igbos and Yorubas went into a wailing mode for four years and in desperation,colluded with the northerners to bring down Jonathan....now they are jubilating all over the place because their northern masters have ackniwledged their efforts at bringing them back into power..

...i wonder how APC would have succeded if EVERY SINGLE tribes in Ngeria apart from Yorubas and Hausa Muslims has said a resounding NO to them..i really marvel at the stvpidity of politicians like al-makura..

...i can only laugh in the faces of other tribes who contributed to the success of APC....una done work for nothing..now your efforts are not even acknowleged or appreciated...mumus raise to infinity undecided
