akanni:

Pally, study permit extension is different from TRV.The below was copied from the cic.gc.ca website:
"A temporary resident visa (TRV) will be issued if you are from a designated country for which Canada requires a visa. The TRV will be in your passport. The expiry date on this visa indicates the date by which you must enter Canada. You must enter Canada before your TRV expires. The TRV will also indicate if you can enter Canada only once (a single-entry visa) or if you can enter Canada multiple times (a multiple-entry visa)".
You have to enter Canada before the TRV expires, he has not even gotten study permit so what is he extending? What you mentioned is for those who are studying in Canada and probably have extras which will take them beyond the initial study permit gotten.
Just saw Bobola's post, spot on, let's not paint unnecessary challenges, he will be ok.He gets study permit for the duration of his program, the day he enters and when he is expected to finish irrespective of the validity of his passport or TRV. Check yours too, i just did mine again just to be sure. cheers
I don't think you should teach me what i already know @ the difference btw study permit and TRV. My study permit expiry date has the same expiry date on my TRV so with all my friends. My program ends Aug.but the expiry date on my study permit is 1st quater of next year, like I said before cases differ what is applicable to me might not be applicable to you.

You don't need to provide solid answers to anything.. You can enter canada as soon as you get your TRV dsnt matter whether ure resuming soon or not as long as you can take care of your living expenses. What I'm not sure of is if one can work straight up before school resumes
Yes he can work straight up before school resumes once he collects his Security Insurance Number (SIN).

Lol I beg to differ, it is from the airport here in Nigeria they will start scrutinizing you as to why you are resuming late based on when your visa was issued, as someone said earlier, the person in question needs to pray to avoid further hiccups. It is well sha

I had to quote it. Funny post.

double08:
Today was the coldest day so far "real feel was like -27 ". The cold is worse than freezer. For those coming buy the things you need before you come. Canada will tax u for anything you want to buy. One bus driver told me she buys her things in Detroit,USA which is just a bridge away from Sarnia. Eg beer cost 15 dollars in detroit while it's 40 dollars in sarnia.

The lecturers are very nice but the work load is piling up. We have been given no less than 5 text books already and during our campus tour we were shown the common room were we can sleep incase we need to work into the night on campus which indirectly states we are in for a lot of course work. Can't really complain cos this is what I came here for.

Still trying to adjust to greeting an old person with just "hi" or call my lecturer by his name. grin I enter bus one day see like 4 old women inside bus, I greet em " good evening ma" all of them de look me one kind, one come even de laff me grin they re generally nice people while a few are not nice

Btw I saw Chrigo. Nice guy dere. The Niaja guyz have met I really cool but the babe's I don't understand, them go just face as if dem nor be Nigerians. Well to each his own.

Good night every one and May God grant us our heart desires.

Since he's your uncle from your maternal side , you can show ur mum's birth certificate, with her maiden name, that's if her maiden name and his surname are same.
If not, you'll both just have to state it that he's ur uncle ie. In his sponsorship letter, affidavit of sponsorship and you in your sop

My uncle has agreed to be my sponsor along with my parents but his account is a company account but a sole proprietorship. I don't know if such account would be acceptable. I would also be using my parents account making a total of 3 persons even though my uncle and mum's account can cover all the costs.

I would also like to send you the draft sponsor letters so that you cn help me check if they are ok. You can pm me your email address. Thanks a lot

Hello house, my uncle is sponsoring me for pos graduate studies in Canada. However, his account is a company account but a sole proprietorship. Will he need to use a letterhead for writing the sponsorship letter and will his account be accepted? Thanks
