He advised that all reports about sharing of positions should be disregarded until next week when a final decision would be taken.

These media houses self. They have not taken decision but the media have decided to create crises among the regions. No truth in Nigerias media.

I'm a Yoruba boy and I think people whose mentality are in your direction are quite myopic. This is a democracy, Yoruba has always voted for opposition since return to democracy in 1999 ... We had AD which later broke into AC then ACN and now APC while the rest of the country go for PDP except few northern states with ANPP. The Igbo's believe in Jonathan/PDP and voted for PDP......

Being in the position of authority doesn't guarantee development, The Northern Nigeria occupy more than 50% of the positions in Nigeria, ruled more than 50% of Nigerian political years , have richer individuals than southerners thus record highest level of poverty index and underdevelopment in Nigeria.

let SE/SS also be in opposition and see how it feels, it is unhealthy for a whole nation to navigate one direction....

You all failed whenever you claimed that hausas/Fulanis ruled more than 50% of Nigerian political years without mentioning the tribes that made up these Hausas/Fulanis administration. Eastern part of the country has always been an active part of all the Northern administrations right from 1960.

Let's take a look into Obasanjo administration as a typical example here, it's well known fact that Igbos held most sensitive positions under Yoruba administration than any other tribes.

Being from a particular part of the country is not what you need to look into but the tribes or people that make up the president cabinet.

Another one is Jonathan administration, this administration is the most tribalistic administration in the whole history of Nigeria and that is the main reason why Hsusas/Fulanis/Yorubas and others don't want Igbo presidency. Aguiyi Ironsi was a typical replica of Jonathan administration laced with tribalism and nepotism. The question is this, did Niger-delta equally enjoy any developments/social infrastructures during Jonathan tenure? The answer is No for the masses but yes for the few elites in the East and militants.

To those who says the Igbos are finished

We don't regret voting GEJ
We had many president over the past years
None remember the Igbos and we didn't seize to exist
It's only GEJ that gave us sense of belonging in Nigeria Govt
And u expect us to vote for Buhari
Buhari will only rule us for 8yrs and another will take over!
Lastly!!
We refuse to be a copy when God has made us original
Well, the whole GEJ giving Igbos sense of belonging thing is debatable. However, I do agree that no one needs to regret voting for his preferred candidate.

Imagine if most states in the SS/SE voted APC then there would be no opposition/minority in the house thus one party system. But would have be nice if there was at least one PDP house member/senate from the APC stronghold and likewise from the PDP stronghold.

Mr. Man you're still living in your former self. Why not wake up to the existing situation. Do you expect them to use a non-APC member into those positions since SS and SE refused to produce Ranking APC? Yes, there are APC elects in Edo and Imo but do you ask yourself, are they ranking APC elects. The senate rule is that you cannot occupy such positions if not ranking senator or honourable. That's why people are saying they should have voted Chris Igige again, he would have been a ranking senator. The only area APC as a party have total control is in the ministerial appointment, because it doesn't require ranking principle. Ask question of what you don't know and stop this hate and sentiment.

Or you think such thing as releasing OBJ from Gashua prison to compensate Southwest can happen again? Nada!! People have learnt lessons.

If you believe Osinbajo shall ever succeed Buhari, you are kidding.
what is dis one saying.?? How do u think?? Who says Osinbajo will succeed Buhari Where did u get dat from?? Im surprise d way u speak. D arrangement now is clear by d OP. So Edo will definitely get deputy Speaker because dey have APC senator. It is d s/E dat has no APC Senator

Ode is this a Yoruba administration? You will find out if you need igbos when Osinbanjo contests against a northern PDP candidate in 2023 .By then you will realize abokiss do not have any party affiliation

Tinubu was the one who sacrificed the Yoruba position in the outgoing administration for his own selfishness and not GEJ.The speaker of the HOR was zoned to the sw but the crack addict gave it all away.

For the last time the igbos do not care about Senate Presidency or any of these other legislative posts. We do not regret not voting for APC.Let's play opposition for the first time and acquire some experience too

One thing you failed to realise is, why I said an Igbo needs a Yoruba for presidency is an average Hausa man will never trust an Igbo man to entrust Nigeria in his hands after the Biafran war. The whole Southsouth and southeast did not vote for Buhari and that did not affect the results of the election. Creating enemies across the federated Nigeria will not help igbo. Be wise.

You have no right to foist your expectation on the APC sir ! Democracy is about negotiations for resources & ....positions ; there can never be a wholesale substitution of technocrats for party-men or party-men nominated people . That is why it is politics .
Furthermore , all the post talked about were officers of the National assembly not ministers or heads of agencies yet ,so what set of people do you expect to fill those positions if not politicians ?
No Sir! Democracy is NOT about Negotiations for resources. You are dead wrong there. Democracy is a government of the people, for the people and BY THE PEOPLE. Nepotism is the Government that I see in APC here. You are carefully and tactfully silent on the issue of SS/SE not alloted any political office in this 'illegal and nepotisitc sharing formular'. Like I said, we are NOT worried. I am just pointing it out. Thanks for reading.

I expected that the APC government will allow competence to overide nepotism. But now, it is clear that this government is NOT going to be different from the PDP government except worse than PDP. The Niger-Delta/Biafra Geopolitical zone has been totally marginalized in this 'unconstitutional' sharing of positions. We are NOT worried, we will continue to supply Nigeria with Crude Oil/Gas. But note that when the boys return to the creeks, your jet fighters will only add more harms to the pipelines. This will be worse than Boko Haram. This is NOT a threat, this is just the reality of what happens when a people are pushed to the wall. Do not take my word for it.

But what bothers me as a person, is why majority voted for Change, yet most of the positions go to career politicians formally from the PDP. Looking at the appointment, former PDP members get about 60% of the positions, yet we call this CHANGE ? I think Nigerians are being short-changed.

I do not envy the North. Power has been their birth-right, yet they are the poorest and most uneducated human species in Nigeria, their kids are manning gates for Igbos in Lagos and selling fruits by the gutters. In a country that power is shared based on zones and tribe and NOT competence, there is little hope of a better tomorrow from this Government.

I pity those who expected Change from a group of Bandits. As for me, we are back to the 1980s.

I have been watching your comment on this forum after the just concluded election. I think you may die of shame because of GMB' s victory

I will keep saying this, you people are too dumb, and will remain dumb.
Tell me how the so called Senate Presidency should mean anything to the lives of the people whose tribesman occupies the seat.
Tell me how Okadigbo positively played any role on the lives of Igbos.
Tell me how Evan(s) Enwerem's Senate Presidency influenced the lives of Igbos.
Tell me how Wabara influenced the lives of Igbos.
Tell me how Bankole's speakership helped Ogun State become New York.
Now, tell me how David Mark's 8-year Senate Presidency helped transform Idomas to astronauts, billionaires and nuclear scientists.

When will you people get it through your skulls that success is not measured by the number of public offices your tribesman occupies? If it were to be so, the North wouldn't be the haven of backwardness it is today.

We got rid of Ngige. And if given the chance, we'd vote him out again, because in ALL his 4 years at the Senate, he was a fucckking benchwarmer who did nothing for his constituents.

Deal with that and stop being a buffoon. Stop crying more than the bereaved already. You're starting to bore.

and yet south east is calling the shots. When will yoruba produce a senate president or cbn governor?

Yoruba have produced two CBN governors which are OLABODE VINCENT(28 June,1977 - 28 June,1982) JOSEPH OLADELE SANUSI(29 May,1999 - 29 May, 2004). Joseph sanusi was succeeded by Charles Soludo but Senate Presidency has not yet been ceded to Yoruba. Apart from 1st republic, senate presidency have been all about zoning since Shagari govt where it was zoned to South-South wit Joseph Wayas as Senate President and House of Reps wit Edwin Ume EzeOke as Speaker so it's all about zoning ,it's only position Yoruba is yet to occupy, d time will come when Senate President will be Yoruba.......mind U Saraki(Yoruba man from North-Central) can become one if this article is true until May 29 let's wait.

Is this supposed to be news? Didn't we already know this? The APC was always going to be an Odua-Arewa gang up.

On the flip side, atleast they gave our SS brothers the deputy speaker slot, perhaps a compensation to Oshiomhole, as I suspect he is going to be the one to anoint any of his APC stalwarts from Edo for the deputy speaker position.

There was never a plan to make Ngige the Senate president, that was only a trap they set, and we tactically avoided that, they only wanted Ngige's victory to rub in our faces.

We have APC house of rep members from Imo state, if they couldn't give them the speaker position, then be rest assured they wouldn't have given Ngige the Senate presidency.

See everyone including you speaking against the arrangement or understanding of zoning, and all I see is hypocrisy

If the election for principal officers is conducted, and based on competence (in your eyes). A particular zone gets half the principal positions in the senate or house. You folks will be the same people to raise the borne to rule agenda, or start ranting about zonal neglect or betrayal of some sort.

Zoning presents a balanced opportunity for every region to have a say in the affairs of Nigeria. Even though not constitutionally enshrined, but it solves so many issues all at once.
