Acquiring a Certificate in (NIIT) is as good as having a Degree in Computer Science. NIIT to me is Better off cos they do mote of Practicals than Universities, and it's a three yrs course. You spend 2yrs in Nigeria, and the next 1yr in Abroad to complete your course.

I am hearing from the Op probably for the first time that chemical/petroleum engr seems to be more needed than mech/elect engr. Please try and find out because even in the oil companies that I know, you find more mech/elect engr than chem/petroleum engrs.
