Who ever thought that apc will cede senate presidency to south east if they had returned an apc senator? I can't help but marvel at the rate people do buy into the deceptive propaganda of apc as a party. Just in their usual manner they've tried bringing up a lie which is packaged to help them cover their marginalisation plans for south eastern part of the country. They've been going about blaming south east for loosing senate presidency as if they had wanted to hand the post to the region in the first instance. Okay, let's presume that apc had any plan for the eastern part of the country, why is it that no major position was given to south east in the national excos of the party? The two house of reps candidates that were returned from imo state, why were they not considered for speakership position? In the recently zoned positions just released why did apc in the ever accomodatin manner not compensate south east with either the SGF or BOT chairman? I'm part of the people that strongly believe that those positions doesn't in any way affect the masses of the regions rather the people that directly got it. I just made up this so some gullible fellows will see apc for what they are so they don't get carried away by their deceits and lies. I still repeat that south east doesn't need any favor from apc rather they should rule the country judiciously

I don't speak for APC but as an observer, Ibos spurned the chance to be in on the ground floor with APC when the merger was still in progress. Only Rochas was disposed but unfortunately, the ibos have sabotaged his influence and no party will waste their tickets or resources on a politician whose people reject very openly.

Now, to your main point, Ibos were lazy and cynical while others were working and taking a big risk. Now that they are successful, ibos should know that the main party leaders believe in merit and achievement, not the emotional blackmail of the ibos, or their love for quota system. You will have another chance in 4 years, go and bring your A-game, otherwise you can cry till you are blue in the face, you won't get no free Senate Presidency or Speaker position. The MB worked hard for it and they deserve it, not the intellectually lazy folks who pitched their tent in a losing position and come back crying to be given a free ride!

It was the ibos calling APC the Amala party, the Yoruba party, the Ewedu party, the party of Awolowo, etc right in the presence of Jonadafteen and they were all laughing in Anambra and boxed out Ngige by tribalism, now you want to benefit from the Amala & Ewedu party? The Awolowo party? Hahaha... Losers!

fool, are u trying to feign ignorance to the intent of the write up? If apc wants to punish south east it's all welcomed but let them not lie with our name just to curry favours from gullible fellows. Repeat the elections you will still get same results. Why would apc be lying with our name on how we threw away the favour they brought to us when they never had any good thing in mind for us? We can't allow them deceive some gullible few that are among us.

And ibos are d one defending this cuz itz not a sure way of bringing development to d area

Nw if u wanna claim equity hand over d speaker to APC

thank you for this! Why is apc moving around with unsolicited press release on how they dashed us senate presidency just to deceive people? After the election did any sane igbo or south easterner release any single communique on how apc should put them in the sharing formular? What's the target in using our name to lie just to lay foundation for further deception of some fellows?

looser in what sense? We are focusing on seeing that apc doesn't rule nigeria with lies and propaganda. Whatever ground they take should not be covered with flowers as to deceive the people relying on the media.

You guys can't be an effective opposition if all you do is whine and lament. No one will call Ibos and say "food is ready" You've got to participate in the making, and from strategic point, there is no reason why SE or SS should be rewarded with either senate presidency or HOR speakership.

Rather than open all these meaningless threads, you should be interested in who becomes the House Minority leader. And you should be interested in how to replace Olisa Metuh with someone of Lai Mohamed's calibre. Besides, you guys should get a leader who can forge alliance with the evil or uneducated Hausa/Fulani and their ofem.anu slaves, otherwise the PDP would be reduced to a regional party. I just hope the market is not over by the time you guys get your act together.

That Janjawe.ed party, Nigeria's Muslim Brotherhood, Amala party, Association of Past Criminals, etc is set to form the next government.

On what basis would APC "handover" a position to people who worked overtly and covertly against them, when the very people who worked hard are waiting to be rewarded? Pls explain that logic to me!

Be honest, if the new government does well and completes a few landmark projects, they will keep at least all the votes that brought then to power and win over more votes, except of course those that perpetually hate the party because they major players are from other regions. It means that even the ibo vote become more irrelevant, and it would prove to new governments of the future that with the north, south west, middle belt and south south, they can always win, even without significant ibo votes! Then, you will realize you need them more for your name to be remembered that you exist. Stop the hatred and bitterness, the election is won already. You can get on the path of progress or try again in 4 years time.

To ibos shot demselves

Igbo has never asked for senate president so their is no reason to say they wanna reap where they didn't sow

Really? I am not sure you've been seeing topics on NL politics section. You know how a kid asks for sweets or toys that belong to someone else? He asks while not really asking and makes you feel bad for not giving him what really belongs to someone else. It is kinda like emotional blackmail. Anyway, it is just a banter we are having online, whatever happens we will see.

HAs the OP not read threads on this topic already or is just being "stubborn"

Senate President is one of the most powerless positions in the country, unless you need to go on medical checkups to GERMANY (thanks General David Mark).

If Igbo people were going to support APC just to have senate president, then they are worse than Mississippi slaves of 1845.

Its time to hold leaders accountable, and not worry about useless positions
