Recently there was a heated debate about the incoming presidents idea of investing in a capital rail project. some pple buy the idea while some including me is of the opinion that the Federal government should come out to explain why. A nigerian in the diaspora send a report to let us know how many of these could be built and what a smart move by the APC to tackle unemployment, transportation and rural to urban migration.
Before you read further I want to quickly remind everyone that we are here not to curse or abuse anyone. Give your opinion and let others give....Godbless nigeria.
THE COST OF DUBAI METRO...DO YOU THINK NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER?
(from google)
The construction cost of the Dubai Metro project has shot up by about 80 per cent from the original AED 15.5 billion/US$4.2 billion to AED 28 billion/US$7.8 billion.[18] The authorities contradicted this, saying that the cost of the project did not overshoot. They attributed the increase in expenditure to the major changes in the scope and design of the project. The authorities also expect to generate AED 18 billion/US$4.9 billion in income over the next 10 years; but they speculate that the Metro would not be a profit-making enterprise, since the fares would be subsidised.

You won't be talking about bullet trains if GEJ hadn't revatalized and expanded the rail network.

The project will be achieved with the oil money and there is NOTHING ANY BASTARD can do about it.

Sincerely, we do not need to spend a kobo on.it. We do not have a national shipping line, national airline and national telecoms and those industries are relatively ok.

Just concessionaire the project to the Japanese or Koreans. That is all we need.

white elephant project! The cost of the fares will be prohibitive unless subsidized and the cost of providing those subsidies will be prohotive as well.

There is no doubt that investment in railway will bring a lot of economic benefits to Nigeria.

Whatever TANoids like to say, let them cry us a river.

I see that your Almajiri economics modelled from the lazy Saudi model as advocated by that illiterate cow herder demands ND oil.

We in ND are not the NE which is economically irrelevant like your Osun.

Let's see how longer your throats can grow without our oil
