What exactly is press freedom?
To what extent can the individual be free from the press?
What areas of ones life is a no go area for the press?
Does freedom of the press also cover freedom to lie, insult and
abuse, and above all to via off the matter on ground just to make the individual feel low.
I think I support Amin Dada on freedom of speech

I notice the hypocrisy of the Jonathanians on Buhari's decision on AIT. ☆ In 2013 two Leadership newspaper reporters were detained for days for publishing a presidential directive. Guess who was president then? ☆ In 2011 six reporters from The Nation newspaper were detained for publishing OBJ's letter to GEJ. Guess who was president then? ☆ In June 2014 men of the military & SSS seized and destroyed copies of major newspapers, stopping circulation. Guess who was president then? ☆ In March 2015 two Al Jazeera journalists covering elections were held in custody for weeks for no reason. Guess who was president then? ☆ In 2014 AIG Joseph Mbu ordered the arrest of AIT journalist Amaechi Anakwe for calling him controversial. Guess who was president then? Me think the Jonathanians should just keep quiet. They do not have the moral virtue to jugde the rightness of principles or conducts

I always like your comments. Nigeria people have mentality of suffering and smiling. 'Leave it like that,we like it'. Slave statement. Im starting to think its cause of our today Men of God,and their style of preaching.lol

Mr Buhari will not be allowed to Bring back Decree4 through the back door. He wanted to test ground with Ait to see whether he will have his way in preparation for a more tougher action against the Press. Buhari better focus on governance and understand his power as President-elect/Presiden. He should stop subjecting himself to public ridicule. If Alhaji Buhari is unsatisfied he should seek legal redress.

@Dokpesi: be rest assured that democratic Nigerians are behind the Press.

Age and wisdom no longer work together in the lives of some old Nigerians all because they have sacrificed their minds on deep inside the shrines of corruption. Dokpesi is free to allow his unbridled appetites for wealth to facilitate the collapse of the media toys he had put together. Well, he is the owner of his broadcasting antenna-and darsat, and we are the owners of our remote controls.

Dokpesi ia also my tribesman, but lets call spade a spade,he went too far.airing demamatory documentaries on buhari was too unprofessional.to d xtent that NBC even cautioned them, but AIT never yielded to d cautions (just because of rapour with 'oga @ the top').........dokpesi can never eat his cake and have it....cant wait for may 29th to see NBC revoke AIT's license.

“What is obviously very clear is the fact that AIT believes that the historical information about the President elect that were ran, were factually correct. Nothing was done to defame him or impinge on his character or integrity.”

Baba cool down...leave the eediot to continue ranting...

NBC wrote a query to AIT and he has not responded...because he has the backing of Jonathan...but after May 29, the way NBC will close down that station until further notice ehn...even Buhari will not be able to beg them.

Just wait n see

That will never happen.

It will be a sad day for Nigeria if his license is revoked, Nigeria needs an Independent media house like AIT. Worst, they can tell him to apologise.

Who made these three National Networks? - When AIT & Silverbird are owned by PDP stalwarts. You can be rest assured that Channels & TVC will replace those two.

I hope Dokpesi made enough $$ during the presidential campaigns to last him the next 4-8 years, cos his station will have very little FG patronage.

Which of the TVCs? The one built by Tinubu, or the one built by your late great grandfather?

AIT did it's wonderful job. Even if it means using cane, Buhari must learn by force what democracy means. He cannot hassle anybody. Whether he likes it or not he must be covered and if he screws up he will be exposed. Robert Kennedy had an accident with his girl friend and she died after their car skidded into a river. They were returning from a night club and it was considered to be as a result of drunken driving. That cost him the chance of becoming president of the USA. What about princess Diana and Dodi Alfaed. Paparazzis against all odds and even when they were not wanted followed them everywhere they went and were even giving them a hot chase when they had the fatal accident that claimed their lives. And even as they lay dying the guys were busy taking their photo shots without bothering to help. So Buhari should not try to wish his past away cos they will haunt him till he dies. Nobody is afraid of him and he hasn't seen anything yet. He had better conduct himself with decorum!

You couldn't be " wronger"

When an institution is accused of libel , defamation or quoted to have said something damaging to a person, people or organization . Complainant reserves the right not to allow the accused anywhere around him, as long as this ruling was given by a competent court of law

It's called Restraining order ,and YES , it is in Nigeria's Constitution

ALL the supporters of GMB should learn to be tolerant. This is democracy! Why the furious attack on Dokpesi and AIT? If the documentary is said to be factual, then give us a counter and superior evidence to the contrary. Nigerians must learn to play politics of tolerance. As it is done in advanced countries, when you vie for public office, your past records and dirty secrets will be revealed. No need to be angry, defend yourself or maneuver yourself.

Goodluck Nigeria.
