Well, for clothing, you would need traditional wears, cos they are pretty expensive to sew here. Well, you might look at drying small egusi, ogbono or crayfish and dry pepper, try and get some traditional spice. Your incentives should be very ok for your living expenses.

Watch out. Rent kills!!
Depending on your stipends, you're going to really be on a strict budget.
Like really strict.
If you're stipend is >25K then you can afford to splurge a bit here and there.

The biggest culprits are rent and feeding.
Start looking now for cheap deals but keep utilities and distance from campus and activities in mind.

Regarding feeding I hope you can cook.
I recommend learning how to cook with corned beef, baked beans, eggs. Raisins, frozen vegetables etc.

I didn't carry all those egusi etc. I can't cook those anyway.
Just bear in mind. Student life is a poor life. There's no sugar coating it.
Don't expect to be flexing oo. Clear your mind now.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Thanks! I am already applying for rent, one on campus and one just outside the campus gate. I am on a waitlist for both of them, and I am also checking out other options. Ah no my stipend is < 25k and that's even before tax. It might be more by my second year. I know grad school life is a lean life cheesy so we go try manage. Thankfully I can cook. I appreciate all the advice, man!

One thing that's been on my mind is the harsh cold weather. I hear the winters in Indiana are very long: from like September till late April or even May sometimes, so about 2/3 of the year is winter. This means heavy heating bills... that's one thing I have been planning along with housing options.

Edit: I mean, the really nice weather is just like 4 months.

Try and get 1 or two leather jacket or hoodies. If you can't get any in Nigeria, immediately you arrive, shop for one online or walk to a store and get one. On campus accommodation is pretty expensive, but it has its advantages. If you can afford it then fine.

Hello House. First off, i wanna say a big shout out to all the Guru's in the house. Una well done o, May God continue to bless you guys abundantly. Yu guys r too much.
That said, Need your help asap. I would like to know if there's anyone in Georgia State University at the moment? I applied for Grad Studies but am having issues with Transcript delivery. My transcript was delivered to GSU since last year but the application check in portal indicates that my transcript is yet to be delivered. I have sent several mails and made several calls however the Graduate Officer's response is not helpful. So i was wondering if there's any nairalander who currently attends GSU to help me pursue my case.
Thank you very much.
Since last year And you have been waiting. Since you didn't get any good response, you should have resend the transcript. You should just find a way to send it to them again. Good luck

Bro SEVIS fee is not 31,200. That should be the Visa fee

Thanks, guess sevis fee is $200 while visa fee is #31,200. As one who wants to reapply do I need to pay the sevis $200 before the visa fee ?

If you have paid the sevis fee before your last interview, you don't need to pay any sevis fee again, .The sevis fee valids for one year!..You Just need to pay only the visa fee if you want to reapply!..

Gurus in the house, your help is needed urgently....

Do I print a new bank statement for my visa interview, or I should use the one that I sent to the school in order for them to issue I-20?

My Bosses,

Good morning all,

I have already gotten 2 admits out of the 4 schools i applied to. The 3rd school is now demanding for my statement of account before final decision is made. From my discussion with the department's graduate student coordinator, funding is almost assured. Please i want to know if i can send an electronically generated statement of account to my school?. My elder brother has already printed his own from the Bank and i have it already scanned, so can i also add my electronic statement to his?.

Thanks to you all. You guys are simply amazing!

Cheers
