I won't totally disagree with you but I must make it clear "follow follow" as you call it isn't a Nigerian problem in this regard. You will agree with me that Nokia was the KING in the market before now. But as of today they have lost a very huge share of the market.
Sometimes, pulling resources together is the only way to survive, ego killed Nokia.
Popular brands the world over sometimes come together to achieve their aims, its called partnership. It does not necessarily mean they're selling out their identity.
Sony is a popular brand in the electronics world, Erriccson is popular for mobile transmission gadgets.
During the reign of the symbian OS, these 2brands came together and we had SonyErrricson.. they became the brand to beat. Sony brought the sound technology, erricson brought ruggedity, you can tell me the rest.
Today...Sony, LG, Samsung, and less have overtaken Nokia just by simply understanding the fact that the Android OS by Google is what is they need to remain in business and who says these other brands are not researching for other possibilities. Android is a cross platform OS, hence partnering with them isn't a bad anyway. This is the singular decision that makes the likes of Tecno,Injoo,Lenovo,Infinix e.t .c to humiliate Nokia in the market.
Finally, your point has totally been rubbished when Nokia bowed to market pressures and came out Nokia Android brands such as the Nokia X, XL and latest X-2 which is another partnership with Microsoft. If you ask me that was medicine after death. I am a fan of Nokia and I can tell you.. it will be very difficult for Nokia to dominate the market again. Times are changing bro.
So, the "follow follow" argument and the claim of trying to be unique to me holds no water.

So apple and others too should just join android ,abi? Nokia isn't dead ,infact their market is picking up gradually and progressively. you didn't follow nokia carefully, I have been following nokia for years. the first mistake is that they didn't release upgrades for symbian: android have many upgrades in the last year, that was also due to symbian os which takes time to create. Thats the reason many phone companies backed out in researching symbian os leaving only nokia to it.

2nd: was overpricing of their phones
3rd: failing to realize the danger posed by android and failing to the develop android early.
4th: changing of it chairman
5th: was joining mircosoft to produce lumia instead of releasing android and upgrading symbian to the advance level.
6th: the company's shareholders aren't rich.

Long story........

Microsoft killed Nokia, but if they had decide to be on their own, embracing android would still bring them down. Unless they grow smart and have a stand out OS like they've always do, and kicking out fast like they are known to do would really help

Just to make a few pointers. Nokia can not just comeback, same way Motorola has not made a successful comeback, even when the mighty Google bought it for $12b


Microsoft do not own Nokia brand, they only bought Nokia devices and service plants. From the deal, Nokia will have custody of their brand from the forth quarter of 2016.

That's why recent Lumia devices do not have the Nokia brand on it.

What Nokia can do is to start afresh, which in unlikely because they don't have the capacity and man power at the moment (there are rumours of a possible acquisition of Alcatel by Nokia, however). All Nokia staff automatically became Microsoft staff. The best they can do is to lease the brand to any mobile vendor, pending when they are capable of getting off their feat.

On the issue of Android, it was never going to dominate for a decade. There are a couple of odds against it. Especially the fact that Samsung which control 75% of the Android market share is working on its own OS called Tizen.
