The whole analysis is nullity.
There is what is called precedence and priority in application of mathematical principles. This is where the @Op got it all wrong.

the overarching principle that laid the rule for this is called BODMAS for integer operations.

So Bracket takes prefrence over of and it takes priority over Division and multiplication as well. before you can even add or subtract what is outside bracket. Since we are taltingofinteger numbers, we must adhere tothe rule of BODMAS and hence the whole exercise is in nullity

Do you know what is mathematics?

As an engineer we say this solution is an absurdity. Natural law of mathematics says "anything divided by nothing is undefined". So they. Simple solution that can never change is 0/0=infinity.

I guess, we can prove and disprove mathematics theories as much as we want which shows that maths is not finite.


I admire the guy 's reasoning ability but he flawed when he didn't apply the same mode of expansion to the numerator and the denominator.

I really don't get the people shouting BODMAS. He took the entire bracket as a whole which makes it correct.

To anybody doubting his difference of two squares.

Take a calculator and punch in 10^2 - 10^2. Then punch in (10+10)(10-10). It all gives you zero.

As someone said earlier, it is mathematically correct but scientifically wrong. I have no idea what this sentence means, it just sounds right

The OP is mathematically correct 100%.
One can get an indefinite number of answers dividing by zero. 1 and 2 are easily obtained using the op's approach.

So mathematics is not violated.
Dividing by zero gives you an 'indeterminate' answer.

He started failing it from the point where he struck out 10 and -10,the 10 on top is supposed to equate to -1 when divided by -1 which when put into the equation, will give you 19/10.
And secondly, you cant stricke out numbers that way. They are in brackets in their own different equations i.e an equation in an equation.
So my point is, the person who provided this so called 'proof' is a dullard

He didn't strike out 10 and -10, he struck out everything in each of the brackets, which is very correct!

Infinity is NOT the same as "undefined" or "indeterminate".

(100)-(100) is the same thing as 100-100.... Minus is on its own untill the bracket is opened... Therefore, by applying diff of 2 square rule, it will be (10^2)-(10^2)= (10+10)(10-10)

The OP seemed to be absolutely correct in all the steps till I saw this post and was reminded that ONLY POSITIVE INTERGERS HAVE SQUARE ROOTS. There lies the error.

Are u a mathematician? I don't think so. Otherwise you'd know what you have quoted is the real trash. Who's talking about square roots here. We're dealing with a situation of a difference of two squares. Minus(-) is called difference in this context just like * is referred to as product and is not attached to any of the numbers. Consider an analogy of (49 - 4). We all know the answer is 45 which can also arrived at using difference of two squares (7^2 - 2^2) = (7+2)(7-2) = 9 * 5 = 45. The truth is the expression 0/0 is indeterminate.

If the guy is wrong, it mean most of questions under limit function are wrong. Because limit is all about avoiding zero as your answer. D mathematics principles he applied are correct. Kudos bro

Don't you think 0/0 can be;
0/0=200-200÷200-200 or 0/0=10000-10000 ÷ 10000-10000? Mathematically the question is wrong so is the answer! It can even be 2-2÷2-2. So Mr. Mathematician am sure these 3 won't give the same answer as two.

Bro don't mind them. The truth is when u divide and get a result. If u multiply the result(quotient) by the denominator, it should give u back the numerator eg 4/2 = 2 as 2*2 = 4, so also 9/3 = 3 as 3*3 = 9 and 7/2 = 3.5 as 3.5 * 2 = 7. So we can correctly say 0/0 = [ ....,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,.......] any value in that closed range as -3*0 = 0, -2*0 = 0 , 2*0 = 0, 10*0 = 0 etc, going by my previous logic. This all goes to show that the expression 0/0 doesn't have a definite value,hence it's indeterminate.

nice but I am not comfortable that he gave different treatments to similar things. Using difference of 2 square for the numerator and factorizing the denominator for same figures in same equation at the same time
