Really? Then I pity Nigeria. What about the lives of hundreds of people which will be put at if Buhari's escort does not obey traffic rule.
Is that the change we were glamouring for?

What a naïve thing to say.

The pope was well regarded and well loved, and someone still found a reason to shoot him.
President John F. Kenedy was well regarded and well loved and someone still found a reason to assassinate him.
Martin luther King was well regarded and well loved and someone still found a reason to assassinate him.

If Nigerians can't get it into their thick skulls that the president does not have to obey traffic rules for security purposes, then you do deserve a stu.pid person as president.

this man is right . whoever suggested the idea to Buhari doesn't have his best interests . i don't like how he made it a public declaration either , for his own sake there're things he should keep to himself and his security personnel. Buhari needs to be careful of who is advicing him and most of all , use his own sense to disregard bad advice . as the President there should be exceptions for him on the road , in case security situations or emergency or when they think something isn't right so they can protect him
Re: Buhari's Order On Escorts, A Security Risk- Akinyemi by jiorhemen(m): 10:56am On May 11, 2015
I controvert the arguement that there's no where in the world where the president's motorcade is subject to traffic rules, there was a time the prime minister of New Zealand (not the current one), was stopped by the police and fined for not obeying traffic rules. Prof Akinyemi, that you watched prime minister Brown's motorcade not obeying traffic rules does not mean that there's no where in the world where the president's/prime minister's motorcade does not follow traffic rules. Moreover, the type of security around a serving president in Nigeria today is not the same as the vulnerability of General Murtala during his incumbency.

Based on the security situation in Nigeria , I will not recommend buhari to obey traffic lights , its too risky ,even in safer countries , the presidency don't have to obey traffics lights or law . Buhari be wised ....I hope we all remember what happened to Murtala

GenBuhari:
I was never proven or confirmed whether Buhari ever ordered his convoy to obey traffic signals, that is just an unverified news story, showing a photo (not video) of what they said was a convoy (that was never proven to contain Buhari), in traffic.

I hope this is not our enemies preparing the ground to assassinate Buhari so that could blame it on Buhari's order for his convoy to obey traffic.
A press statement was released by his media team in consonants with the order.

This guys do not care about the well being of the president. You forget we have terrorist in our country. Do i have to break it down for you?

Step 1. Wait at stop light with rocket launcher.

Step 2. Once president obeys traffic rules, fire rocket launcher at motorcade.

Step 3. Keep firing.

Nigerians are really stu.pid. If we have to measure it on the stupidindicator scale of 1 to 10, it will be a 20.

I think the president-elect might just be trying too hard to do things differently. He should avoid playing to the gallery by jeopardising his security.

The man is saying the truth.

No presidential motorcade anywhere in the world is subjected to traffic rules, traffics are always blocked whenever and wherever a presidents goes.

Is not about been humble or leadership by style, is all about national security.

Whoever gave buhari the idea of obeying traffic rules, doesn't have good intentions for him.

Every second delayed in the open space while transporting the president is a security risk
I agree but i only overlooked it because he is still president elect.
